  1. It's supposed to be, it's not. Countless cases of ex-cons having extreme difficulty finding employment after criminal charges shows us that. Imo, what he did was much worse then selling weed, and there are thousands of cases of people's lives being ruined for being convicted of that. I see where you are coming from, but that is a naive statement based off how the criminal justice system works.
  2. What makes you say this. I'm not doing any further research to pull quotes, but I did previously so I'm going off memory. The victim of the photographs made a statement after it happened, what she wanted was a genuine appolgy. What she received was a 2 sentence text. What about that makes it seem like he's genuinely sorry for what he did? I half assed text isn't now you appolgies for doing something so heinous to another person. He has said all the right things to media and in interviews since being drafted. But who's to say that isn't because of the coaching of his agent, and the Montreal Canadiens. To me the most telling statement is that of the victim, who says she never received the appology she needed to attempt to get closure on what happened.
  3. Not saying Jake is guilty, but I will counterpoint. With the vast majority of sexual assault cases not going to court, let alone being found guilty it's hard to maintain the Innocent until proven guilty saying here. By nature, sexual assaults are extremely difficult to prove and prosecute. We will likely never know what happened between Jake and the alleged victim, but I'm not convinced that a trial is the be all end all in these types of cases. The fact that he is litterally being run out of his home country and the NHL says a lot to me personally.

  5. A job isn't your right. It's not part of your freedom. The ability to work is a privilege you get for following the rules set by your employer. When I was 15 I got a job picking up grocery carts at Safeway. My punk ass had an eyebrow ring that Safeway wanted me to take out, or cover up with a bandaid every day before work. So for the next couple years I wore a bandaid over my eyebrow to hide my eyebrow ring. I did this, so I would fit the criteria of my workplace and keep my job. If an employer wants to do the right thing, and tell you that they don't want you working on their property if you are unvaccinated that is their right as your employer. If you don't like the way your employer handles their business, find a new job. How could my dumb adolescent brain understand this at 15 but so many adults now can't wrap their mind around it now.
  6. 3 year deal. He'll play the first 2 years in Calgary, and since they will still be terrible 3 years from now they'll likely trade him at the deadline. Play, play, pass the Dube.
  7. Stir the pot all you want man, you do you. If they tried to explain it after, I didn't see it. After they compared anti vaxxers being ridiculed to racism, I completely checked out on them as a poster and stuck them on the ignore for the time being. That's shameful with how serious of a problem racism is in our society. Now, you do you, but I'm out
  8. Go back and read the whole thing again. The only strawman came from cup when he brought up trump and far right wing, which wasn't brought up at all till then. He then used that strawman to directly compare it to racism. I didn't strawman at all, I directly interpreted what he said, and reacted to it. This isn't a discussion I'm going to have any further because you clearly didn't even bother reading what you responsed to. Just trying to stir the pot more. Iv already added him to the ignore and moved on. I'm not doing this any further. It simply ain't worth it.
  9. You accused my earlier of saying you were a bad person. I hadn't. My opinion has changed now. You're beyond an attention seaking manchild. Now you're a bad person in my eyes. Litterally no other explanation for a comment like that.
  10. Well, there it is folks. This is what reaching a new low looks like. Just compared people criticizing non vaccinated people to people who look down on others of a different race. Absolutely unbelievable.
  11. You are very fortunate your covid was not serve at all. Sorry you had a sore arm and got heart burn, but what is the point you are trying to make? Still infinitely better then the 4.4 million people who have lost their lives due to covid.
  12. Good stuff! Looks like this thread is in need of a title change.
  13. No no, it's reported by the bccdc. You are entirely incorrect. You can google bccdc and check the up to date August report. Just download the pdf that gives the entire report. It's on slide 5, 17 and 18. By saying he is making stuff you are actively spreading false information, because it's accurate.
  14. I believe what my governing board of healthcare practitioners I'm administrated by, the general scientific consensus of health and safety professionals globally, and common sense tell me. I don't for a second believe a story that lacks any compassion for what would be an absolutely tragic story that happened to someone they care about. I understand compassion and in my line of work I was trained in it very thoroughly. It's very important to recognize signs of trauma so you can handle the situation safely and effectively. It's also important to spot the lack there of to handle those situations effectively as well.
  15. Yeah, I don't believe that story in the slightest. Not for a second. I don't doubt that some people have had severe adverse reactions to the vaccine. But I don't believe what you said in at all truthful.
  16. I'm so pumped that the vaccine passport is settled. It's such a positive step into getting this under control.
  17. Compliance is a funny way of saying doing the right thing based off human decency. Based off the links you provided as "proof" against vaccines, it is 100% safe to say you are not properly educated on the subject. I say this with confidence as someone who works in healthcare and is properly educated on the subject.
  18. The much better question is why would anyone, who is medically capable, not get the vaccine?
  19. Yeah? I don't know her, but anyone willing to open up about their experiences in a public manner to help others is ok in my books. Lack of communication around mental health is one of the biggest hurdles of seeking help.
  20. Where did I say any of that? I asked your background since you wanted to talk mental health and was open to here it. I never assumed you has no idea, but did want to know if it was more then empty words. Also never judged you as a person. I said you take on covid is dangerous and your online footprint, at least here, does much more negative then good. I said that, and I meant it.
  21. With a portion of my patients, mental health is the primary concern of them coming to see me. I contribute every day at work and have the last 9 years in my profession. I'm more the comfertable talking mental health, or any covid based topic. Addiction should obviously be a major concern. BC is declared it a health crisis and work must be done, and quickly. Mental health crisis go unchecked regularly because of wait times to get into programs and lack of a support. Covid has furthered this switching to online systems and lack of in person support groups. Both of these problems need far more attention and funding in BC and across Canada. The simple fact of the matter is as difficult as covid has been on these 2 subjects, it has been equally bad on every other part of live. Covid is, and rightfully so, our number one priority. Everyone who is actively acting against the covid efforts, is slowing the response time and funding to the other problems that need our attention.
