Canucks requiring covid vaccination for staff and fans
MeanSeanBean replied to cuporbust's topic in Canucks Talk
That's not an answer. Enlighten me, I'm all ears. Let's talk mental health and how you positively effect society. Your online persona negatively effects the people around you. So that's a point against you. Your opinion on covid is dangerous, and would definitely negatively effective the mental health of those struggling through the pandemic. Another point lost. Let's talk positives though. If mental health is such a major problem, which it definitely is, how do you contribute positively? -

What are you doing to help with the mental health crisis? Vacinations is the simplest and most effective way to help combat covid. But you want to talk about mental health right now. So, personally how do you positively contribute to this problem? -

"Not wanting to start up with you again" Directly followed by 4 back to back posts stiring the pot, and over half the messages in the last day doing the same. Yeah, that adds up. -
The fact that somone reffered to it as the worst contract in the NHL shows how little creditability they have. OEL may not be worth his contract anymore, but he is certainly not the worst contract even if he doesn't rebound in Vancouver (which I feel there is a strong possibility he does). Sounds like some dweeb stuck in Arizona attempting to may himself feel better about the tire fire that is that team.

[Signing] Flames re-sign Nikita Zadorov

Couldn't lock him down long term. Bet flames sell him off at the deadline when they aren't fighting for a playoff spot.- 54 replies

But he arguably was our best defensemen last year. -

That last statement is falling on deaf ears. The most dangerous person in the world is an idiot who believes they are correct. -

Entirely. You just said that by requiring vacinations we are going against people's "god given right" to chose what they do with their bodies. Well if that god given right allows you to choose what goes on in your body, why is that exact argument used to disallow people from choosing what they get to do with their bodies? -

Huh, weird argument since religious fanatics do that about abortion regularly. -

From my perspective, which is of a healthcare worker, the VAERS holds almost no value. At this point it is essentially a tool only used by anti vaccine groups as a way to fabricate data onto their side. It's actually quite scary because it can lead to the uniformed believing they have found valid information, when really they have found the same regurgitated drivel from their Facebook page. -
I'd do that trade.

Yeah you're wrong. If grocery stores implemented a vaccine policy we would not see riots and looting. It's honestly rediculous and slightly unsettling that your mind even goes to that first. It would be a policy keeping the general public safe, not losing in game 7. We would likely see some protest, they have already shut down roads in Victoria a couple times. Definitely a ton of complaining on Facebook, and a handful of videos of anti-vax enthusiasts loosing their minds on Reddit. -
Pearson and Schenn? And nah my buddies a great guy haha

I actually just went back in our texts. He actually said in a follow up text he was a "decent enough 7 string guy but expect him to take a lot of dumb penalties" kinda lines up with what you were saying. I asked if he thought he had any more upside and my buddy just said probably not.
-
I actually asked that question at the time. His exact answer was " He can't play hockey". Probably very harsh, but that's what he said. I'll ask next time I see him what he's primary issues were on the ice.

the province doesn't report daily on vaccinated status, but a weekly report is available at the http://www.bccdc.ca/ edit http://www.bccdc.ca/Health-Info-Site/Documents/COVID_sitrep/2021-08-05_Data_Summary.pdf this is the report from last week. I don't have time to analyze the numbers, but from a rough glance it's roughly 10x more likely to contract covid if you are unvaccinated. Again, pretty on par with what we expect to see. -
My first thoughts when we trade for Bowey was that it was a low risk high reward deal, and it was possible he could turn it around. After a few chats with my buddy who is a Red Wing, he assured me that it was highly unlikely. I'm keeping expectations low, and will be pleasantly surprised if we see him get any ice time on the Canucks with our current depth chart.

I don't have research in front of me right now, I'm at the clinic and not in front of my computer right now. I do know that 99% of covid deaths and 97% of hospitalization in America is among the unvaccinated. In BC, between late June and July, only 6% of covid cases were fully vaccinated people. Pretty much as to be expected given the 95% rate of the mRNAs and less of the Astra. Statically that adds up pretty close to what expected. It is completely factual to say that right now the unvaccinated are putting everyone at risk. Being in healthcare I try very hard to not form bias' against any group. But right now the anti-vax group is really pushing my tolerance levels. -

This is false. https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/vaccines/expect/after.html It's very rare. So far the J and J have been linked to 3 deaths in America. https://jamanetwork.com/journals/jama/fullarticle/2779731 6 people of 44k died of phizer during testing. Only 2 of those people even had the shot and not a placebo. https://www.reuters.com/article/uk-factcheck-pfizer-health-concerns-idUSKBN28K2R6 These are facts. The things you're posting are litteral propaganda. -

No need, I'm not on the front lines. The nurses, Doctors, Pharmacists, and anyone else in the trenches over the last few years deserve all the praise. -

I work in Healthcare, so I feel pretty confident behind my words. I don't know your background, and I don't care frankly. But after reading the last 5 or so pages, you are being as problematic as Cup and Dumb. You are jumping on people with mixed vaccines. All evidence so far shows you can freely mix mRNA vaccines. They don't mix mRNA and non mRNA to my knowledge. The studies aren't wide spread enough to be convulsive, that will take more time. All evidence so far is pointing to this not only being as effective, but possibly more effective in some cases. Quit gatekeeping based off vaccine availability. Many facilities were at the mercy of what was available. It was deemed safe, and they went ahead the vaccinating people. Those people who took time out of their day, did the right thing, and got their vaccine don't need to be accosted on a hockey forum by the decisions of educated health care professionals. You're being an idiot, and giving grief to the wrong people. Give your head a shake. -

Facts don't matter to some people. Going back a few pages it's quite evident this peticular poster is far more concerned with 'owning libs' then anything else. Some people are constantly accusing people of being offended, just for an attempt at a little bit of attention. It's like this section of society has found a catch phrase and will just repeat at nauseum because they don't have anything productive to say. For someone desperately seeking attention, without the character for people to willing give them that attention, they have to turn to being edgy and owning them libs.
