Canucks requiring covid vaccination for staff and fans
MeanSeanBean replied to cuporbust's topic in Canucks Talk
This is. Add something real? Why? Everytime someone uses facts and science they get shot down by the 3 or 4 nitwits. eventually if you can't beat them, join them. If you didn't want to "acknowledge this crap", you wouldn't have. But you just can't seem to help yourself. -

Anyone else find the correlation between people who have crappy hockey takes and stupid covid takes very interesting? -

No no, that's what you wrote and how the English language works. I'm dyslexic and even I can see that one. -

You do realize that what you just wrote, you are the person in your story looking in the mirror, then talking to yourself... Right? -

No no, it's clearly evident who the clowns are. -

Minimal risk is not no risk. What kind of back woods logic that? Those who have done everything in their power to protect themselves and the people around them should be penalized while the people who haven't done anything shouldn't be. The majority of us want to move forward with out lives. The people who are choosing not to get vaccinated are delaying that. -

Low. Very low. Using the Pfizer vaccine as a baseline since it is what I have. 95% effective at protecting against covid. Of those people who catch it, it is 90 percent effective effective at preventing a severe case of it including hospitalization. Rogers has a capacity of roughly 19k. Currently 63% of people are fully vaccinated, while 73% have had one shot and it's fair to assume will be vaccinated by opening night. Roughly 14k of those people. If 5000 people come in to Rogers with the possibility passing around covid, that means roughly 700 of the 14,000 vaccinated could be at risk of contracting covid. The vaccine doesn't eliminate the chance of getting it, it decreases it. Even the chance of having 700 vaccinated people leaving the hockey game as carriers who could pass it on to their family, friends, and work colleagues is far to high and not at all worth the risk of allowing those who are unvaccinated in the arena. -

Again, you clearly have no idea what you are talking about. I'm also confident that nothing you read here will change your mind. This post was a bunch of half true facts, taken out of context, at an attempt to make a valid argument. -
The people criticizing the Black Lives Matter movement for protesting a civil rights movement, are the same people who will gather to protest for the freedom to put their children in mortal danger.

The far right leaning Americans are some of the most hypocritical and selfish people on the planet. I say that from experience, since a large portion of my family is far right leaning Americans.

This shows the exact reason why we should require vaccinations. So many people simply do not understand how they work, or are too ignorant to learn. To answer your question, no. The Pfizer vaccine is roughly 95% effective. Condoms are roughly 98% effective. Have you ever met someone who had a baby even though they were using protection? I sure have, and I bet everyone on this forum has at least had second hand experience knowing someone who got pregnant using protection. Now a condom is more effective then the vaccine, by a whole 3 percent. The argument that "Hur dur but the vaccine should protect you" is equally as ignorant as the anti-maskers saying your mask should protect you and it shouldn't matter what they do. People need to actually educate themselves instead of reading one post on Facebook and calling it a day. -

[Buyout] Canucks terminate Virtanen’s contract

I read the first half of your post thinking, "huh, I guess people can change and be better" then I read the second half when you are still doubting the victim... Nevermind. -
If you haven't checked this out it's a awesome resources. They do a ton of great things in this course and would be a great starting point in trying to figure out where to start. https://www.ualberta.ca/admissions-programs/online-courses/indigenous-canada/index.html Unlike the UoA course this one is not free, but has a ton of awesome content. It's something some healthcare governing boards are starting to concider making a mandatory part of continue education. https://www.sanyas.ca/

Haven't sent an email asking for reform myself. Didn't seem like my style. With my deslexia it takes me a long time to write my thoughts out properly. It's one of the main reasons I love this place so much, I can practice in a more relaxed environment. Personally I took a hard look at what I could do to help in the community. I joined the First Nation Committee in my career field to help start bringing attention to barriers keeping Indigenous people from seeking healthcare. Also in the process of implementing a Orange Shirt day Initiative at the clinic for September 30th. Still need to figure out the legistics but so far it's moving in a positive direction.

Justin Trudeau - Worst PM in decades
MeanSeanBean replied to grandmaster's topic in Off-Topic General
Oh look, another person upset about him dressing in black face costume.... This is the most ridiculous argument for him being a bad pm I have ever heard, and people constantly harp in it. Times change. Watch a comedy from even 2004 and that's very clear. He has apologized, admiteded it was wrong, and strived to do better moving forward. People who bring up this as an argument point for JT being a bad pm loose all credibility in my eyes. It's fine with not being a fan of his, that's fair. But saying he's the worst PM in decades is a personal bias and in my opinion a pretty stupid one at that. -
Don't mind that at all. I had high hopes for Lind to be in a top 9 spot this year.

(Prediction) Under Brad Shaw Poolman will be better than Tanev
MeanSeanBean replied to Arrow 1983's topic in Canucks Talk
But you are entirely ingnoring the reason why we was let go (and why the fans were ok with it). His contract term was too long for a guy who had averaged missing around 20-25. We didn't have a solid enough D core depth to be able to replace his minutes when he was out of the lineup, so we had to let him walk. Then last couple years Chris has been lucky with his health and had some very solid seasons. No guarantees that continues for the next 3. I don't really remember any of the real fans around here being ok with Tanev leaving. But the majority understood it was likely the right play at that point in his career. Schmidt on paper was an upgrade to Tanev. I feel like that's still a fair statement today. Unfortunately Schmidt was a poor fit for our team. -
The Habs were my second favorite team before they drafted this kid. I will not support a team that places their value on winning over human decency. If he would have been drafted by the Canucks, I would have done the same. I knew we weren't going to draft him though, so it seemed like a non issue. Benning wouldn't have taken him with a 7th. I firmly believe that. That's one of the reasons why even through questionable moves I support our hockey ops.

Building Optimal 21-22 Roster through Analytics
MeanSeanBean replied to nuckfanfromafrica's topic in Canucks Talk
You know what, I have no idea what most of the means. But I really appreciate the effort you put into this. Personally the look of that ideal lineup just doesn't do anything for me. I do have time for Horvat with Boeser though. Hog on with them, but I'd love to see Pearson with them at some point. Stick Garland with Miller and Petey, I could see that being a great way to spread out the scoring. Pod and Dickson on the 3rd line with either Pearson and Hoglander. -
[Signing] Canucks sign Tucker Poolman
MeanSeanBean replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
Right? This post was litterally a "HEY LOOK AT ME TRYING TO HAVE A REAL PRODUCTIVE HOCKEY DISCUSSION" while actively trying to stir the pot. The only outcome of a post like that is to attempt to antagonize other posters into engaging. There is zero other point of a post such as that one. The greatest irony is they are calling out people for not talking about the subject at hand, while making a point that doesn't contribute anything to the subject at hand. But hey, at least it wasn't a post replying to a themselves so at least there is progress. Really shows how bored some people on the internet really must be. Every time some people open their browser it must be like Christmas morning to see who engaged back and who they can argue with. I just don't get it, where is the enjoyment in that? Really makes you wonder. -
You keep moving the goal post. You are now critiquing these players by their point totals to justify if they were in a slump or not before being traded. Using that logic OEL hasn't been in a slump either. His point totals have been quite steady overall. He is roughly a .5 point per a game player with one standout season 6 years ago. Clearly we know OEL hasn't been playing his best hockey. He himself has said as much since being traded. But to just say those other players don't qualify because of points isn't a fair arguinhg point at all. There is way more to hockey then points. All of those players were obviously trending down before the trade, and have seen a resurgence since being traded.

Go back to page 26 of this thread. It was reported by the Survivor Stories Project that 6 more woman have come forward after the first. This is actually pretty common for the first to give courage to others who were also assulted. It's disgusting.
