Been putting this off as long as I can, but here it is. This is how I think the top 10 goes down tomorrow. Flame away. 1. Buffalo: Beniers 2. Seattle: Powers 3. Anaheim: Eklund 4. Jersey: Hughes 5. Columbus: McTavish 6. Detroit: Wallstedt 7. San Jose: Guenther 8. L.A. : Edvinsson 9. THE GOOD GUYS: Clarke 10. Ottawa: Johnson

That was my first thought. Not only does the original author seem to have any information linking the Canucks to Sillinger, but even if we were linked he would have zero inside information to know so. Teams are extremely tight lipped around the draft this time of year. Obviously we should look at Sillinger, he's gonna be a heck of a player. But this 'rumour' has no more substance then us taking a look at every other player in the first round
-
Yup, he's taken the first step. We can spend this year becoming a better person and maturing and give it another go next year. It would be a horrible decision for any team to take him this year and I would have zero respect for Benning if the Canucks were that team.

[Report] Canucks won’t protect Kole Lind
MeanSeanBean replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
I think he would have. He had a slow start in Utica as well but came out swinging the next season. I felt dipping his toes this year was going to motivate him to make the team next year. I feel the same way about Juolevi. I do think he makes Seattles roster. But that's just my take. -
[Report] Canucks won’t protect Kole Lind
MeanSeanBean replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
I might be the minority here, but I hate loosing Lind. Home grown prospect, was improving every year, had some skill, had little bite. While his showing last year wasn't spectacular, I thought he showed promise. Good luck to him next year with the Kracken. -
[Rumor] Adam Larsson to test FA
MeanSeanBean replied to Bertuzzipunch's topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
Man... I could gone done concider that defense fixed. That looks like a core that could do some damage. -
Huh, yeah I guess thats true. McTavish is also a desirable position like the D. I felt he was a great pick at 9 or so. Top 5 just seems a little high.

Bo Horvat and his future [agent on don and dahli]
MeanSeanBean replied to Bertuzzipunch's topic in Canucks Talk
Taj thinks If you read the lines means completely misconstrue an interview for clicks. Your interpretation of this interview was exactly what Taj was trying to do. I isted to it twice and have no idea how you came up with that summery based off what the agent said. Summer, gotta love it. -
"Well ya, we we been watching this kid um for awhile now. Well, you know, we like that um he's a hard working kid. You know, we talk to the player, talk to the coaches, talk to his parents and we think he's got a good head on his shoulders. He's um got elite hands and thinks the game at a high level. We think um we're getting a really good young player here that can play, you know, for the Canucks for a long time." -Jim Benning, probably, when we draft Johnson
-
Oh man I'm going to take heat for this....Svechkov. I do not doubt he is an awesome prospects, and I totally acknowledge what he brings to the table. But I'm hoping this is our last time picking in the top 10, and this team needs some elite talent to round out the big positions. I would much rather see the team shoot for the moon with a guy like Johnson who has potential to be a elite players then take a safe bet NHL player. If Svech is our guy I will totally support him and I'm sure he will become an amazing player. But personally I'm hoping we come out swinging for the fences this year.

According to the victim all she wanted was a heartfelt and sincerly apology. What she got was a 3 line text message back. Then to the police the kid claimed she was "just trying to ruin his life". This kid has a long way to go before he can be concidered even a half decent human being.
-
We are very different people then with different opinions. I wouldn't want him anywhere near our team until he has made full amends for his actions. People before hockey, that's what's important to me.
-
I would be sincerly disappointed with our organization if we took him this year.
-
The woman is likely mortified by the situation. That's why police were brought into the subject. Him dropping out if the draft is only the first step in his journey to become a decent human. There should always be consequences for your actions. In this kids case, the consequences are him delaying his possible NHL career. In another teens case maybe he gets fired from his job, or publically ostracized at school. Bigger stakes should lead to bigger consequences, and hopefully this kid can grow and become a better person because of it. From all accounts the kid has a lot of talent. If he stays in the draft this year, he slips until some organizations puts their morals aside and drafts him. That's a lose lose situation. No team should have to be deciding at what point they have to disregard human decency for the chance to become a better team. He can sit out this year, prove he is dedicated to becoming a better person because of his mistake, and hopefully get a clean slate to work with next year if he has earned that right. That or he doesn't do anything to make amends, or has further antics and never gets drafted. If that's the case, so be it. Realistically the kid hasn't done anything to make amends yet. But he has made a positive first step. He has said and done the right things likely under the advise of his parents or agent. Hopefully he is committed to being a better person and comes back stronger because of it. Until then, good riddance.

[Rumor] Adam Larsson to test FA
MeanSeanBean replied to Bertuzzipunch's topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
Question for anyone who might have an answer. I feel like the generally consensus around Larsson a couple weeks or a month ago was that we were better off not spending our cash and waiting till next year. While Larsson would be a good fit for us, he will likely be overpayed (like all free agents) and we don't have disposable cap yet. Now it seems like the consensus is to go hard after him. Did the Edler statement about signing elsewhere make a big difference, or am I just interpreting the consensus wrong. -
Sorry this just reminded me of this video and I always get a chuckle from it. https://youtu.be/VqzkKs5shCM

What are you going on about? The guy made a dirt bag move and took heat for it. Rightfully so. This morning he came out and took a step in the right direction to make amends and so far everything I have seen regarding the subject is people saying he took the right first steps. He should be passed over in this draft, just like he said were his (his advisors) wishes, and given a fresh start next year after paying the consequences for his actions.
-
Step in the right direction from this young man. My only hope is that those aren't hollow words and no team does draft him. This could be a turning point in his life, a wake up call. I hope every team passes on him so he gets that wake up call.
-
I think it's fair to be hesitant about any player who shoots up the rankings after all the hockey has been played. Is the player himself being evaluated, or the idea of the player. 2 months ago he was the safe pick at 9, now almost sure he's gone by then. What changed?
-
I was all about McTavish a couple months ago, but I really don't think he will be there at 9, so I moved on. Clarke would be best case scenario for our postitial needs. I was all aboard the Glass train Peteys year. Hindsight, eh?
-
Any guy in peticular you got your eye on at 9? I got my fingers crossed one of the D or Dylan Guenther slip. That would be huge.

You asked a question and I answered, no need to act like a sarcastic dweeb.
