  1. Gino's dad was sent to residential school, and was assigned the number 29 at registration. Odjick took back that number. What an absolute legend.
  2. Right on Bear, you show em. Been a big fan of his play overall since he's got here. I could see giving him a couple more years.
  3. Benning got this team into the majority of mess it's in. So far, JR and Alvin have only added to that mess. Both things can be true. But you said to stop blaming Benning, and I don't agree with that at all. Benning is to blame for a ton of the issues with this franchise.
  4. No. That's terrible. I sincerely hope no one, no matter how much you love this team or dislike a contract, would wish harm on a player.
  5. No!!!! Oh man... That sucks. Rest in peace Gino...
  6. Do you not count no cap space, a bottom 5 prospect pool, and a complete loss in faith from the team and fans alike damage? I do.
  7. I'd probably avoid trying to degrade someone for their spelling in the same paragraph you write "Lmfao" like a twelve year old.
  8. My eyes must be deceiving me. Did we just see veteran Canucks throw a blind pass at someone blowing the zone early. No, that can't be. Not THESE Canucks...
  9. Bo and Miller completely pooched that final play and cost us a goal. That's our leadership... That's really sad...
  10. Your opinion, I disagree with you. I think they are similar trades. The idea of an up and coming team spending future captial to improve short term and provide the team with veteran leadership.
  11. I'm convinced this entire thing is rigged. Drama generates interest. We're gonna be gifted Bedard for getting through this terrible year.
  12. Yup, and I'm still hoping for Trotz. The theory of Tocc is good, the person seems bad.
  13. Over the summer, most posters were saying this team was a sure in for the playoffs. I had a couple heated discussions saying I didn't think it was that cut and dry (I did think we would make it, it would just be close and likely a bubble team) I hate that I was right in having doubts. Wish I was right about still being a playoff team.
  14. The quick and dirty on Tocc is he's a very structure orientated coach. To the point where he will bench even high profile players for mistakes. He sucks the creativity out of games in favour of ridged structure. Exactly what JR has been saying this team needs all along. He's not a players coach, at all. Many players under him seem to see dips in performance offensively in the past. He will hold players accountable though. Players who aren't putting in the effort will not see ice. No matter how much they are being paid. For that reason he tends to get a lot out of fringe players. TLDR; all structure, no fun.
  15. In my lifetime, definitely. Can't vouch for the 80s.
  16. It's something to cheer for that gives you hope of a better future. Cheering for Horvat right now feels shallow, past padding stats for a better return. When you get to cheer for young elite talent, it's a glimpse into what you hope a team can become. This team was just ranked 28th in our prospect. Only a small handful of teams have less to cheer for in hopes of making the future better. Not only that, this team is dog now. Bedard would at least be a shining star we can bank or future on. Edmonton is an average team, but they have a generational talent so there's hope they could win big with him. We need that, we have nothing else and very little hope.
  17. Oh shoot, I think your right. That's seems like a weird statement a actually, if that's what they were saying. I'm sure that does happen, but most fans are vocally and willing to state their opinion, good or bad. Nice catch, my bad.
