  1. I never wanted to trade for him. For the year before when it was rumored I hated it. You can see early in the thread I hated the trade. Today, I hate that trade more then ever. A buy out this year may be our only chance of not having OEL on our team, and I don't know if that cap hit paired with the player allows us to contend in Peteys window. I hope I'm wrong. I doubt the Sedins played a big role. At the time, I believe they were advisors? They likely advised. If you ask someone for advise making a decision and they give you that advise, but then it ends up being a bad decision, it isn't on them for giving their advise. It's on you for making a bad decision. I don't deny that played a small portion on the trade, but Benning was rumored he had his sights on OEL for nearly a year before he pulled the trigger. It was a terrible call that was a long time coming.
  2. He's been great, but I'd vote trade him. He could be a huge get for a team needing scoring for next to no cap
  3. Both things can be true. +/- is lame and OEL has been terrible. No need to yell about it on the internet though.
  4. Lol what are you going on about? The post you replied to didn't even say anything about +/- Calm down.
  5. I don't think it's a fabrication. I bet 20 teams have called the Canucks to talk about Horvat. It's his job to create talking points. I don't really understand the hate for hockey media. The whole reason why any of us come on a forum like this is to talk about hockey, and the media gives us things to talk about. Oh probably. Like I said, I bet 2/3 of the league has checked in on Horvat. Centers of his caliber don't hit the market often.
  6. Oh I agree, I have no idea why Seattle is even being rumored. It's possible they want to try to catch fire and start strong like Vegas. But if I was them I would be slow rolling as well. I personally don't think Wright is a deal stopper for Seattle though. Not if they're thinking they can sign Bo to front their franchise.
  7. https://www.nucksmisconduct.com/2023/1/9/23546286/canucks-news-elliotte-friedman-bo-horvat-seattle-kraken-trade-theory The more I think about this, the more fun it sounds. We haven't been able to spark a rivalry with Seattle yet. What better to kick start then them stealing out captain.
  8. Seattle went a different direction, but it ended up being a good draft. They prioritized cap over anything else. It allowed them to get players like Bjorkstrand at dimes on the dollar. An NHL team is a massive investment, the teams are set up to succeed now. We have had decades to make terrible decisions. A lot of bad choices in the last 6-8 years.
  9. Vegas has been a contender since they joined. I don't think it's really all that crazy Seattle is doing well.
  10. Hard pass. I want to try Miller as much (more) then the next guy, but not for TB.
  11. With the amount of cap space they have available, in about a week they will be able to take is pro rated contract.
  12. At least we'll win a few draft lotteries in the next decade if we did that. Having Miller as captain would damage our culture so bad it would take an entire roster turnover to get that out of the system.
  13. It's quite the trip for me to go see a game in person, so I usually go once a year. There is absolutely zero chance I'm going to spend the time and money to go see this lazy team play. The high likelihood I'll be disappointed and frustrated with the team is a hard pass for me. This team needs major change or it's going to start isolating lifelong fans.
  14. I honestly hope every game is like this until the end of the season. Let's inflate some stats and have some fun hockey. I could care less about the results of the game. It's a win win now. It's either short term hurrah for a win, or long term hurrah for the tank.
