  1. I like Bear. He was a 7 on a elite team under a month ago. I'm not banking on him being a top 4 D on a high level team.
  2. Signing Horvat leaves us with the team we have now. Which is what.. 27th? What path leads to this team getting better with no cap space or prospects?
  3. Which is a huge piece to acquire. But only acquiring 1D, what's your proposed top 4 on a team that would compete for a cup?
  4. Do we? If we want cap space, or trade chips we need to trade at least a couple of them. It's not like we even have a huge surplus of wingers. We just currently have enough, but not even enough for an elite team. 1 top 4 D? At least 2, honestly maybe 3 with the way OEL has regressed so far this year. This team currently has 1 bonafide top 4 D, our only defensive prospect who you could argue may have top 4D has been riding the pine all year. Where the heck do we find these D without cap space, draft capital, or prospect capital? I wish I could be optimistic about the future of this team, but outside of Petey and Hughes I have no idea what I'm supposed to feel optimistic about.
  5. Sure we can. It would be a great move if your totally down for another decade of entirely midiocre hockey. This team is lacking cap space, prospects, at least 2 top 4 D, a top tier 3rd line center, and a bunch of winger's if we are planning on using Boeser and Garland as our trade bait.
  6. Yup, also a natural center who is one of the top faceoff guys in the game. Super stoked we chose the older winger who's often terrible defensively to blow our budget on instead of our captain.
  7. Yup. Blow it up. Build around Petey and Hughes.
  8. If we add to Myers to get Zub my head will explode. Just because he's playing top 4 minutes, doesn't mean he's a top 4 D. They are also playing Harmonic in their top 4. Myers will have value next year. This team needs to get as much value as possible from everything we got, we have nothing to spare.
  9. Huh, well we have lost trades, no more trades. Bad draft picks, no more drafting! We have lost signings, no more signings. We have lost games, best we just not play games anymore. Great idea cup!
  10. You Outta Know it. Nah, my one record is, and always will be Californication.
  11. It closed one door and opened another. Management was in those phone calls and I just hope they have a finger on the pulse better then us. It's possible another door would have opened this trade deadline, but that would have also come with a lot of risk that one didn't. I don't think taking on money is a massi r faliure if it's the right money. A shorter term contract, or a player that fills a need that we want anyways. Can still mine value.
  12. Bahaha hilarious. It's one of the reasons I spend so much time here ( and also why my posts are often edited). Practice makes perfect
  13. I feel this. Didn't get my diagnosis till my early 20s. It can be a huge challenge at times when you don't have the ability to read at a comfortable pace.
  14. I have seen that idea floated around here, but I actually don't think I agree with it. Trading JT now doesn't necessarily equate to admission of wrong doing. Management was straight with us and said they didn't like the return they were getting for him. I think it's fair that his value would have been higher last year, then this year at the deadline without a contract. 2 year rental vs 1 year. So if management didn't like the return, giving him a contract was the right move. They could have played hard ball and hoped for a haul as a 1 year rental at the deadline, but that also came with risk that if they were in a playoff spot he could walk for free. Now we would have to take salary back if we want to trade JT, but I'm not sure that means his value has gone down. Maybe it's just... Different? We are asset poor, we need to maximize everything. Maybe signing Miller and trading him this year (I don't think that's going to happen but one can dream) is the best way to maximize that value.
  15. Couldn't agree more. I absolutely loathe them. I have actually started to listening the games on the radio more frequently. I don't know if it's just the way my eyes focus but it actually bothers my head. Even wearing my glasses I'll get a headache sometimes and I think it's my eyes trying to focus on both the game and the stupid boards.
  16. Because this team will likely be terrible, even worse then it is now. Why keep Miller? What does that achieve. Reset the culture entirely and let Petey take over. We never should have signed Miller.
  17. Yup, and say it hundreds of times. Also, both those posts were saying they wouldn't give up Byram. No one suggested that was the trade. Lol
  18. All after you started it by being the first person to mentioned Byram in 20 pages (yes I checked). I didn't find a mention, I just got bored. Hence why I asked if you always start the subject like you did this time.
  19. I don't see anyone suggesting they think Bo gets us Byram. Not sure what you're "Hahahahha"ing about.
  20. Again, I don't think Demko was problem in the Vegas game. Yes, he needed to be better then the 3rd period. But he also was lights out in the first 2 periods when the D completely left him out to try. The only thing I'm sure about with this team is it needs to be better if we are going to compete. Much better.
