  1. Only partially agree. Demko has been below average, if the average is how good Demko is. I don't believe he has been below average in the grand scheme of an NHL goalie. I have the time for maybe slightly, but he hasn't been terrible, IMO. Last year he was just so bloody good it covered up how absolutely terrible our D was. I heard arguments of our D being above average and not a major fault of this team. I absolutely boggled my mind, even last year our D was atrocious most of the time, but looked decent because of how incredible Demko was. What we are seeing now is the quality of this team when our team isn't getting top 3 goaltending. But this is beyond just the quality of our defensemen Outside of a very select few, our forward group has been embarassingly bad defensively. This whole team is flawed from a construction level, to a compete level, to a coaches issue. I don't think Bruce is free of blame either. I like the guy, and think he's a tremendous coach. But he isn't giving the boys the best opportunity to win. This team has so few bright lights right now, it's depressing.
  2. Is Byram hurt, or are the Avs D core so good he's their 7th? Guy would immediately be our 2nd best defensemen.
  3. Good feeling about this one, 3-1 Canucks! Till the end of the second period, then the game will end 4-3 Colorado.
  4. Lol imagine Byram being on our 3rd pair... Instead we get Stillman. Same same but different, am I right?
  5. Martin has a 3.49 GAA and a save% of .898 This is not a goaltending issue, this is 100% a defense issue.
  6. JR needs to get Schenn into his office and get him to make a list. Who competes, and who doesn't. Take that list, and trade that side that Schenn is constantly referencing towards not giving a flying f... Make him captain, make Petey and Hughes A's, and start over.
  7. Been riding this train since last January at the Lundkvist rumor... Choo-choo...
  8. Yes. All summer this management preached have a good start, make the playoffs. We had a horrible start and the chance of us making the playoffs are almost nil. Teams not good enough to make the playoffs let alone compete for a cup, we have no cap space, and we have a bottom 5 prospect pool. Major surgery is needed, bottom line.
  9. If you were to actually read the post this was in response to, it addressed this very concept... My entire premises for claiming Jost was I didn't feel Hoglander nor Podkolzin were brining enough positive to the team this year. I would rather them playing huge minutes and thrive in the AHL and play Jost in their stead, to avoid them soaking in the stink that is our team this year. I even said Jost hasn't worked out, but there was no harm in taking a flyer on him to allow our young players the best chance at development. Since it's clearly not happening on this team on the press box or 4th line. But if you'd rather 2 of the more important prospects in our barren prospect pool wasting away in the press box or a limited role while 28 year old tweener Dries anchors the 3rd line with Boesers, who's value we are actively trying to raise, by all means continue to criticize me about my awareness.
  10. So just because something hasn't worked in the past, that means you shouldn't try it again? I really don't know the point you're trying to make here.
  11. With all due respect, since I appreciate everyone exploring their own creativity,
  12. You're unreal at making an argument by putting words in someone's mouth. You do it constantly. Where did I say that Brock is playing like a 6 million player? You entirely dodged the reason I responded to you in the first place which was "the entire team is putting up big points" and countered pointed by putting words in my mouth. I said he's putting up points in a limited role, which is true. I said that the entire team is not putting up big numbers and it's more of a select few at the top of the line up, which is true. I also at no point said Brock is living up to his contract with his current play, which was your entire argument back to me.
  13. Are they? Garland has 9 in 17, Mikheyev has 9 in 15, Hoglander and Podkolzin have a combined 6 in 29 games. I completely disagree the entire team is on a tear. It's actually a small handful of players putting up huge numbers. Brock is putting up huge numbers, but honestly near a ppg while playing poorly with reduced minutes is better then he probably should be. I won't argue he's playing well, but I'll definitely argue the value of a player who even while playing poorly gets their points.
  14. It does if he continues his point pace of just under a ppg. Not defending his play, but that's just the truth.
  15. Aye, both of them. Honestly, sending them down right now is 100% what I want them to do. Neither is excelling this year and making it worth having them on the big team. I'd rather then down in the A playing top line minutes then 4th line or on the press box absorbing the stink that is this team right now.
  16. I didn't say they were trying to turn around the season. I insinuated they were trying to turn around the franchise. Horvat would go a long way stabilizing them down the middle if he agrees to a contract extension. And I'm pretty sure ever GM knows about the draft? I don't know what you mean with that statement.
  17. We actively have half of that right now with Pearson on IR. Sending down Pod or Hoglander saves us space. I don't feel like doing the exact math, but that's pretty damn close. I feel like we could wiggle the cap space without even making an out of market move.
  18. Still young. Has obviously struggled, but this team is terrible. What do we have to lose? I'd vote yes. Send Hoglander and Podkolzin down get them out of this toxic situation. Let them thrive down in the minors, bring in low risk moves like this and see what happens.
  19. Because they need a center, badly. They are currently playing Sillinger at 2 C, and he's not thriving. They also just signed a big free agent just a few months ago. They have a ton of prospect capital in both forward and defence. Why wouldn't they spend some of that capital to bolster a struggling core?
  20. Based off of what? Johnny has consistently been a more productive player then Miller over his entire career.
  21. I beg to differ. I actively try to avoid pop culture and I feel like I could easily start listing people who are rich, and not because of talent or intelligence.
  22. I haven't heard it's OEL directly, but it was reported that at least one Canuck was asked to waive his NTC this summer and declined to do so. Feels like that was OEL, Myers, or Pearson.
