  1. I felt it was more hammering home how Toc feels we have a strong leadership group with multiple players who would be capable of captaining a team and helping lead
  2. Right? Love it. First time in awhile it seems like the entire fanbase is on agreement that management made a solid move.
  3. Oh captian my captain! Best choice available by a long shot. So stoked for Quinn. Lead us to a cup Huggy!
  4. Way to go Huggy! So stoked he's our captain. Oh captain my captain!!
  5. Bumping this. Minny still needs to call up Pod and Boner. Also, we'll take Morgan Frost's new Philly contract 2x2.1
  6. I'd be total on board with a pto. He can compete with Rathbone, Wolanin, Irwin, and Hirose for that 3rd pairing spot.
  7. Huh... that post sounds awfully familiar.
  8. YUS!!! As he should be!!
  9. totally. Just pre-planning. I sure hope Hart was not involved...
  10. Do we have a backup incase CDC goes down? Also... what's the deal with players if they are convicted of the 2018 World Juniors horror show? I selected Hart based off his comments at the time and how he was being cooperative but now it's looking like that might have been a terrible call. Would that be a buyout or a contract termination?
  11. The only places I know of are Reddit and HF. I don't use HF because it's terrible, and only dabble in the Canucks subreddit. This place is an actual community, not just a place to talk Canucks.
  12. The canucks sub Reddit is one of the more active NHL Reddit's. It's just not the same though.
  13. 17 years here. Pretty much the only social I use. Will be a real shame if this place disappears..
  14. @Gatorwhat's the deal with Wright? Should I just use a wait and see approach? If I'm not on the hook for his cap and can slide him (I don't think he'll be playing significant NHL minutes this year) we will have money to play with in FA.
  15. Minnesota will recall Podkolzin and Rathbone to NHL lineup. How does a ECL players cap work if they play in a junior league? Will I still be on the hook for Wright, or is that when the slide thing comes into play? I'm not sure where he's going to play yet this year, since there was even talk about him playing in the AHL as an underager?
  16. It's also really dependent on your build and body composition. Seeing weight gain when you start working out is actually a good thing. Muscle weights more then fat, so your early returns on the scale will actually be a weight gain, not loss. Weight loss tends to happen later on in most people as you continue your workout program. For reference, I started my program about a year and a half ago. I work in an extremely demanding field, and found myself 10 years in and starting to break down. I built myself a home gym, and started taking the advice I constantly give others. I'm 5'9 and when I started working out and cleaning up my diet I was about 190. I didn't look that heavy in the slightest, but I was pretty muscle dense when I started, just also had a layer of... comfort. went up to about 200 about 6 months in since I was putting on lots of muscle and eating significantly more to keep up with my protein and calorie demands. I've settled at around 185 now, and I'm easily the strongest and biggest I've ever been. I was a pretty decent athlete in my teens and early 20s, and I competed at 130 and 135. Huge change in what my "comfortable weight" is over the last 15 or so years. The numbers on the scale shouldn't be the first determining factor if what your currently doing is having its desired outcomes. It's all about how you feel, and if you're making progress. The best advice I can probably give you though, is good health starts in the kitchen. If your eating low quality fuels, you're not going to run as well as high quality fuels.
  17. I'd advise you to talk to your doctor have have your levels tested before ever doing anything to synthetically alter your natural hormone levels.
  18. I've worked with athletes whos bodies have done this nothing short of miraculous to compensate for injuries or congenital abnormalities. The human body is an absolute insane vessel of adaptation. But these adaptations can have long term consequences. I too, would be less concerned with professional athletes since, in theory, that should be getting the best care available. But personally I do everything I can to mitigate further damage to an area whenever possible. Playing on damaged ligaments is often not a good idea, particularly if that ligament is going to eventually need surgical repair.
  19. The majority of athletic knee braces aren't designed to "reduce any stress anywhere else", it's designed to do the exact opposite. It activates haptic preceptors of the surrounding muscles so they engage more strongly to stabilize the joint in question on top of their intended function of movement. There are types of braces like hinge braces that do ad significant tensile support to a joint, but those aren't normally used in sport situations and more common during the rehabilitation processes. I have seen exceptions to this, but those are outlying situations, not the norm like you seem to be describing in your post. There are many commonly broken bones that can function at a normal or near normal level with the only side effect being pain with no long term side effects to the surround tissue or mechanism of movement. Yes, pain can sometimes reduce the overall athletic output of a high level athletes, but often that reduced output is still higher then others on the team. That's why we see top tier players play through broken bones all the time in playoff type situations.
