  1. The Canucks are factually a bottom feeding team this year and the year before. It is not a matter of opinion. The standings and where the Canucks placed speak for themselves
  2. The Canucks are a bottom feeder team. Arguing against evidence is why people can't take your points seriously. We are at the bottom of the league and have been for a while.
  3. This is a pretty false narrative. Atlanta did have fans. However, their mismanagement with their teams understandably drove those fans away when you have a poor product. It's the same thing with Arizona. You put together a successful team and you'll have fans that want to watch the game. You put a poor product out, is it really a surprise that people don't want to pay for stuff?
  4. I don't always agree with Drance, but here he has somewhat of an interesting opinion. We gave up our most expensive picks (mid round 1st rounder and a 2nd rounder) and took in contender picks (low 3rd round picks). Yes, we have Hronek, but he was drafted in the 2nd round pick by Detroit. They have sold him high. Notice how no other bottom feeding team has traded away first round picks? This is a very shortsighted move, even if Hronek is a great player. I hope for the Canucks that Hronek pays off. Because if he doesn't, we are going to be hurting for a while.
  5. It's never going to die. The tabloid style of writing caters to people with low critical thinking skills and high emotional vulnerability.
  6. I totally agree with this here. The only thing I can think of as an excuse for this management is that Hughes/Pettersson have made it clear that they won't re-sign if the Canucks continue to tank. There's no guarantee that the team will actually do better with Hronek. The Canucks are the only bottom feeding team that gave up a 1st round pick AND its 2nd rounder this deadline, as far as I'm aware. Yikes.
  7. JR and company have no clue about what they are doing. The first year, they say the Canucks were a few pieces from being a playoff team, with the emphasis that they'd be close if they add the right pieces. This year, we are the bottom of the league with a lot of cap. That's another thing. They said they'd clear cap. We are in cap trouble, partially because we added 8 million in cap. Now we've traded away picks as a retool team while every other bottom feeder has collected them. We are dealing like we are a playoff team. That is why this is such a joke.
  8. You say there is a clear direction. Everyone else says there isn't. You appear to be the only one who thinks you see something that everyone else doesn't see.
  9. We have collected playoff contenders' picks while trading away our high picks. Amazing! No second rounder (lol, what a theme for the Canucks) and low third rounders. We are set for the future (not)
  10. We have the worst management. No plan for the future. We are buyers when we should be selling. Absolutely terrible mismanagement. We are going to be in a very deep hole for a very long time.
  11. It speaks volumes about people who are praising this move while continually bashing the outgoing GM who did the exact same things. This is such a shortsighted move.
  12. The amount of excuses that people make is kinda disgusting. This management is absolutely terrible for this team's future.
  13. Unfortunately, this management and/or ownership is why we're not going to be a good team for a while. Hronek is a great player, but we are not competing right now. Why the hell is a rebuilding/retool team trading high picks for an RFA? We should've been accumulating picks. Unfortunately, we hired the wrong people to manage this team. Good pro scouting, zero plan for the future. It's almost like we're thinking like a playoff team.
  14. I deserve the criticism here and I realize what happened. I am sorry for being rude and condescending. I will have to do better as a poster and a person. Maybe I should take a break from posting and come back.
  15. You're right. I had to go back to see that I did mix up a poster and/or a conversation. I am sorry. I am totally in the wrong here.
  16. Jurmo is clearly not NHL ready, not yet anyway. I think we will agree on that. He is a very young defenseman, but he's very promising. So why did you bring up Bains and Karlsson earlier?
  17. Let's walk this conversation back so that we can discuss this without fingerpointing, whether it's from me or from anyone else. The article is 7 months old, but it actually reflects the amount of progress Klim has made, even from earlier. Klim's progress has not worsened (objectively speaking). And in that article, Bains and Karlsson are not ranked higher. So I really am just curious how you're able to rank those two higher than what Faber had them. Can you show me evidence from Faber that shows that Bain and Karlsson are higher ranked than Klim?
  18. You say you can see other players getting a shot - like whom? I am clearly not counting players like Hoglander and Podkolzin because they already have NHL experience. You can't just state something without explaining why. I explained why I think Klim is the closest to being NHL ready in our system, but your replies suggest I was talking about him being NHL ready. Don't backtrack. Edit: replied to the wrong person.
  19. I am very critical of this management because the things they've said before their start have not been achieved thus far. That being said, it's hard to deny that they are leaps and bounds better with pro scouting. Every GM has their strengths and weaknesses. I honestly don't think allvin has done enough to build towards the future. Edmonton is in the playoff picture, but had the good sense to offload Barrie for a 1st rounder. As a retool team, we are not doing enough.
  20. You need to improve your reading comprehension. Edit: I'm in the wrong here.
  21. It's with every GM. They inherit stuff from previous regimes. It's only on CDC that they give all the credit to one GM, while forgetting the mistakes that GM has made, even though it has carried over until now.
  22. I don't think this league plays favourites, to be honest. They are just incompetent at their jobs, which makes it seem like they have favourites. Everyone thinks the league is out to get the Canucks, but in reality, the league screws every other team occasionally. You can see this so transparently with the reffing.
