  1. If Seattle wants to do the deal, 2 first round picks, and a 2nd is worth it. Seattle is absolutely horrific on paper, assuming it's between 8.2 - 10 something More than that, as you said. LOL. Seattle would be stupid to do this deal. Pettersson would also get booed EVERY single time as well. I don't see Pettersson doing this deal at all. Not worth it.
  2. I'm sure many people will not miss you when you go check yourself in.
  3. Dhaliwal didn't report it specifically; however, he (and others) did reference players being POTENTIALLY on IV, which was a phony report.
  4. Of course you were, otherwise why would you even bring it up in the first place? If we did walk away from Pettersson's offersheet, we'd be netting a ton of draft picks potentially. I'm assuming any offer sheet will be no more than 10.2. And within this range, I think maybe 8 would be done? or 9?
  5. Another thing to consider, people on these boards are super impatient and have no sense of negotiation skills. Sometimes doing it early is beneficial; however, how do we know if Pettersson WANTS to do it early? Sometimes it's all about trying to squeeze out a little extra moolah just by making the Canucks sweat it a little. Two sides have to come to a mutual understanding of a price. That's how this works. Simply saying "Pay" is fine and dandy, but that's how you get bent over in talks.
  6. Gaunce and Jensen weren't drafted by Benning, you doofus. Clearly you don't know what you're talking about.
  7. Very few teams have this so-called "cap flexibility". Not to mention COVID/flat cap, and the Luongo recapture, both of which have nothing to do with this management. Total bull$&!# narrative you're trying to spin.
  8. Pettersson, Hughes, Podkolzin. Pls go to hell, Squam. thx.
  9. Daniel Wagner is a pretty good journalist, but this is a really dumb take from him.
  10. So why not link it with Dhaliwal? Why bring your stupid friend Tajy into this? Are you taj?
  11. True, but I think it's hilarious if Vancouver decides to walk away. CGY is gonna be so screwed, cap wise, plus the future. Given the fact that CGY is already in a dangerous spot, it's not unrealistic to think they'll be bottom feeders in the next few years. The compensation that CGY has to cough up will be AMAZING.
  12. Nah. Holtby for sure had to go. I think with this buyout, Schmidt is being kept then, maybe? I'm not sure. We do need a 4C and a depth defenceman. I have no idea where we are in terms of cap, with Hughes, Pettersson, and Dickinson with contracts to come, plus the other RFAs although those RFAs are probably pretty cheap. Juolevi will be really cheap, for instance.
  13. I agree with both points. It's going to be tough to balance these differences. I think if Schenn can be had for a hometown discount, that would be fine.
  14. Agreed. Halak can sign a 2 year deal, if need be, which will give MD plenty of time to stew. He's a winner, folks!
  15. Garland is pretty snarly. He plays above his size for sure. Doesn't back down from anyone. And I don't expect the Canucks will let him have to fight his own battles. People like Dickinson and Pod are big boys. They will step up.
  16. I don't think it's too much of a stretch. We have a vastly improved lineup, and it's not like OEL needs to be carrying this team, only that he can carry his load. He should be fine.
  17. That was really fast. Shows that Garland is committed to staying with the Canucks. And also, Aqua is not a cheap man. Shame on all those ppl who say he was cheap.
  18. Oh look, Squamfan is back with ONLY negative news!

  19. Hard to imagine that all three UFAs that year (in our division, I should specify): Lucic, Eriksson, and Neal would all be terrible in their own ways. Even the Lucic/Neal deal couldn't save Neal.
  20. I agree. Holtby should've done well here, especially with Ian Clark.
  21. If JB can get Halak for super cheap (no more than 2M), this is a good acquisition. Solid goalie. JB shouldn't have spent so much for Holtby in hindsight. Should've gotten some other goalie for two years purely as expansion bait.
