Seattle is built so terribly. Ron Francis so far looks like a total loser with all the expansion picks they had. He tried to outthink the competition, but he ended up stickhandling himself into mediocrity. He could've gotten so much more in his returns, or at least picked players that don't make this team seem like it's filled with scrubs. I think we'll get a lot of points against them. Calgary is meh. Edmonton is still pretty decent though, so I'm thinking they'll be our main rivals.

I told you I'm not going to get lulled by your tactics from now on. I would like to address that you have no intention of a so-called rational/objective discussion because you brought up irrelevant stuff, such as the bolded, to pollute the discussion. Why do you get to say "Anyway let's move on" after you brought up the bolded unnecessarily? Average lifespan of a GM is 5 years is irrelevant. Do you not understand that? It's up to the owner to keep Benning or not. That is no one's call except the owner. As I said, it's a useless "point". The evaluation of his progress is ongoing. No one here ever said that he isn't being evaluated. As you said earlier, he's done good things, and he's done some not so good things. He's still here despite his bad things. What does that tell you then? His good things are quite significant and the owner recognizes it. How easy would it be for Aquilini to fire Benning? Very. Anyway, I have no intention of replying to you because you'll just end up polluting the discussion with your tactics when things don't go your way. Proof is above.

There is no false logic. All I simply left out was one word, biggest. The single BIGGEST reason for Benning having a job is the drafting, among other things. There is no FALSE logic. You are just nitpicking. I'm not even gonna bother answering your posts because you've already demonstrated that you're too lazy at addressing the countered points. Did you know the 3rd round pick was not the year of the trade, but the year after? That PROVES that the trade had leverage because LV doesn't even get to get a prospect until then. Schmidt traded to Canucks by Golden Knights for draft pick Defenseman has five seasons remaining on six-year contract; Vegas gets 2022 third-round choice

The so-called loyalty term is divisive language in describing the fans. I'm sure the new GM would receive plenty of "loyalty" too. There's also people who are STILL loyal to Gillis. Of course Benning has made plenty of mistakes. The very good drafting is probably the single reason why he's still around, among other things. Benning can indeed draft/evaluate prospects. Schmidt for 3rd round was a clear win at the time. Just because he didn't work out here doesn't make the trade a wash. LOL.

1. Wrong. Schmidt/LV trade - 3rd round pick. Clear win. Easy for you to say something and just ignore evidence. 2. Drafting - Benning has revived this prospect pool. Demko, Hoglander - all regulars on this team. Gillis left him with ABSOLUTELY nothing with regards to prospects. Horvat was obtained from Gillis trading a goalie he didn't draft. In fact. Gillis never drafted a goalie in the system that could replace anyone! That's why we have the Luongo/Schneider mess. 3. Trading picks - Benning at least can draft the players, so he can move picks if it helps the team. Gillis burned all the picks he traded, and messed up the ones that he did draft, for the most part.

No one said he is the 'great GM'. However, Benning revived this prospect pool, which was completely wrecked by Gillis. People say "Well, that was seven years ago". No, the problems last a lot longer than that. An empty prospect means EXTRA time needed, whereas with Tampa Bay, their prospect pools were continually renewed, even during transitions. Of course they'll be on track.

The 2nd round for 2022 makes the trade a "fleecing"? What about these other deals? NYI/AZ trade for Ladd: AZ gets 2021 second-rounder, a 2022 conditional second-rounder and a 2023 conditional third-rounder. PHI/AZ trade for Ghost: AZ gets the second- and seventh-round draft picks in 2022 to take the puck-moving player they call “Ghost.” You're so biased, Wolfgang. I know you're never gonna respond to the criticism and just repeat your biased comments.

Thank you very much. I remember you to be a thinker of history, thus I remember your other posts throughout this forum as being logical and well-supported. I am less knowledgeable about hockey players, but I do love reading what people have to say about the players. Although there will always be bias, I would prefer that the bias is in control and not written in such a way that would make people think the writer is objective. Some people are very obvious in their bias, such as Wolfgang Durst.

No, it's not possible at all. We don't even have space for JV to return. A buyout is happening 100 percent. Believing otherwise is just ignoring the fact that a) he's not been good enough b) he's a PR disaster right now. The allegations may or may not be real, but JV's reputation is tarnished regardless. I think the truth is somewhere in the middle of what JV and the girl is claiming. No one's going to know the details because discussing it publicly will only hurt her case. No one should say JV is a rapist because there's no proof. Yet no one should say that victim is lying either. We don't know either way.

Wolfgang Durst has no interest in details that go against his deluded sense of reality. He is only interested in smearing people by hook or by crook.

Dang.. this guy is looking damn promising!

Yeah, I'm sure the Canucks will have to dump Schmidt as well. +2 mill from Virtanen buyout, we'll be at roughly 20 mill, maybe 21. Dicky is probably 2-2.5, Garland is ~ 4 (conservatively). = 6ish mill Then you have Pettersson, and Hughes. So let's say 6 each. That's 12 million. Juolevi will be pretty cheap, but there might be performance bonuses (idk). This leaves us with maybe 1 mill to "upgrade" our centre. They'll have to sign someone for minimum wage lol.

Wolfgang Durst praises the poster for having a "balanced" view, but nothing in Wolfgang Durst's reply was positive at all. Everything was overwhelmingly negative, and you can see an example of his blatant bias above. He's anchoring himself onto someone tried to be balanced, and filling the rest of the post with negativity. That poster is not objective at all.
-
How would you know what a balanced view is, son? Forgetting Hoglander and Demko? You don't watch Canucks hockey, do you? You're just a troll.

I agree with what you said so far, especially about OEL. I'm very optimistic about the anticipated upswing of him. He's finally someone we can use, whereas Loui was just dead cap. I'm also anticipating huge offence from our top 9. It's so good on paper, honestly. Whether or not it translates, we'll have to see. Based on everyone having a healthy season, with good coaching from ppl like Shaw, I can see a resurgence for us. Not to mention, Seattle is constructed quite poorly, so I anticipate they'll finish at the bottom of our division, so we will be improving our playoff chances.

Your insights are always much appreciated. I, for one, try to pay attention to what you say because you show a clear passion at what you do, and I also love how you explain the players with some measured dimension, not just some vague description about him like "very quick, good hands"
