[Report] Canucks won’t protect Kole Lind
Dazzle replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
Lind has shown he can produce in the AHL - but that's it. He had 7 games with 0 goals, 0 assists, and a -4 in the NHL last year. Granted, this is a very small sample with a ton of factors involved behind the poor stats, I do not think those numbers are promising numbers that he can be a full-time NHL player, not next year anyway. Hence, I think this pick is a bad one for Seattle. When they send it back down to the AHL, as they ultimately would, the Canucks can reclaim him. If they really wanted Lind back, they could keep him on the roster and waive some other player down instead. Honestly, this is one of the better scenarios for Vancouver. I think Seattle should've taken Gadj and/or any other roster player instead. -

Yeah, this is a really bad pick by Seattle, objectively speaking. If I were Seattle, I'd want someone who I could use on the roster. I'm not convinced that Lind will make their roster. -

Losing Kole Lind sucks, but.. not a huge loss. I don't think he makes the Kraken roster, which means the Canucks could reclaim him if need be. -
You are clueless. Tampering doesn't apply to UFA players bruh. Seattle had every right to talk to him.
-
Myers was worth 6 mill. Market dictated that. My point is that people just don't want the market to be 6 mill for Myers. The problem is that you can't pick and choose the worth of a player.
-
Or in the words of certain posters, the GM overpaid because he paid enough for the player to sign right away - as in the case of how posters criticized the Myers signing.

[Trade] Canucks Trade for Dickinson from DAL for a 3rd.
Dazzle replied to aGENT's topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
You've had your issues of the player addressed by multiple posters, and yet you are still cherry picking what you want to see and hear as evidence. Sorry, you are not objective. -
Horvat was obtained from trading Schneider. A goalie that was drafted by Nonis. And yes, he did it with a late first round pick. Here is Gillis' drafting record. What happened? All the predecessors before him could draft a player or two. Why couldn't Gillis? Look at this mess of a draft record. This is beyond pitiful.
-
But of course, Gillis is untouchable to criticism. You can't give Benning credit for picks like Pettersson because it's not his job (or in his words, very little to do with the draft), but in another post, he outright blames Benning for picking Virtanen. @canucklehead44 You are proving my point about your bias. It's always a laundry list of excuses to blame a GM you don't like, rather than objectively analyze anything.

Canucks release 2021-22 preseason schedule

Sad thing is that Tyler Wong didn't make the NHL (thus far), and his brother Trevor is coming up this draft. Probably a 4th round pick - and a huge Canucks fan. -
Bo Horvat and his future [agent on don and dahli]
Dazzle replied to Bertuzzipunch's topic in Canucks Talk
We have a toxic fanbase, part of which is well represented on places like reddit, twitter, and some members here. *cough* Squamfan... -
Bo Horvat and his future [agent on don and dahli]
Dazzle replied to Bertuzzipunch's topic in Canucks Talk
Remember when Squamfan constantly references Taj as a source, citing that he's listening/watching the shows, thus being a verifiable source? Yeah... now you can see Taj's motivations. -
Raty's dropped off A LOT, to the point that scouts don't consider him to be that great of a prospect anymore, at least not worth taking with a high pick. Definitely not the best C in the class.
-
Funny how you didn't say the same to all the others who share your blatant anti-Benning narratives His drafting or incompetence at it had a direct impact on the roster, including the bottom 6 forwards, in which you cited McCann as being a good bottom 6 forward. The lack of depth is attributed to Gillis, unfortunately. Your laundry list of excuses will continue though, regardless.

Canucks release protected list for expansion draft
Dazzle replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Canucks Talk
He's a depth player. Nothing wrong with that, but not really a loss that would impact the Canucks in any significant way. Green seems to have used him sparingly. We'll see if that was a mistake. -
Canucks release protected list for expansion draft
Dazzle replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Canucks Talk
Kole Lind hasn't done that well during his NHL stint. Sure, he has potential, but is he worth protecting over a known asset like Pearson? It's a no brainer to protect Pearson or Motte, plain and simple. Seattle's not going to pick Lind when they have to fill their roster with NHL players. Choosing Lind is honestly a waste for Seattle. McCann didn't do well until he got to Pittsburgh, which was actually several years down the road. And look, he's got traded again. That's what? 3 teams already in short succession? Maybe there are some attitude issues with this kid. -
People like you have been literally brainwashed by Gillis' accomplishments, to the point that you are outright dismissing his flaws. Gillis didn't draft a single worthy of player outside of Horvat (obtained ONLY by trading an asset that he didn't even draft) and Hutton. That's absolutely brutal. He had plenty of chances to draft players that WEREN'T top picks. Yes, he had chances. He either traded them or drafted busts like Brendan Gaunce. It's hilarious how you ignore the inconvenient evidence of Gillis.

[Rumour] Montreal Plans to Offersheet Pettersson
Dazzle replied to AK_19's topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
People are correct about this after all. They CAN theoretically do this. Should the Canucks walk away with the picks IF Pettersson signs it? I don't think he'll sign this though. -

You are correct after all, as are the others. Montreal is fully capable of doing this after all. -

[Rumour] Montreal Plans to Offersheet Pettersson

Edit: I'm mistaken. I don't believe that's correct. https://www.pensionplanpuppets.com/2021/6/28/22554643/2021-offer-sheet-compensation-set-nhl-rfa-rules-picks-aav-calculation Some rules to remember: NHL teams cannot negotiate with a player in regards to an offer sheet until July 27. The player cannot sign that offer sheet until July 28. If the player (but not the team) elects arbitration, he cannot sign an offer sheet. The team submitting the offer sheet has to have all of the required compensation picks, and they have to be their own picks. They have to be picks for the next draft (so 2021) unless they are required to have two picks of the same round. Then they can have two of the next three year’s picks to offer. And now for the calculation of the AAV to determine the threshold: This by itself would invalidate the rumour entirely. They DO NOT have a second first round pick for 2021. Not to mention, they are missing a third round pick for this year. In short, this rumour is 100 percent false.
