  1. If you're gonna go, "what if he can't" logic, then you might as well pay everyone 1 million dollars. What if Boeser didn't score like his first season? What if Demko doesn't do as well with his new contact? 3.25 is hardly a gamble. Only someone with an agenda would associate a pretty average signing as an 'overpayment'. This isn't one of them
  2. LOL, 3.25 is NOT an overpayment. If he can pot 40 points like he has basically done all his career, the amount is just fine. This one season was a bad season. Did Boeser's second season show him 'declining' too? Your narrative is such a joke.
  3. You clearly hate a player, which is fine. I only ask that you produce the statistics and other pieces of evidence to support your claim. Tanner Pearson and Alex Iafallo are the same age. Pearson has produced more than Iafallo has thus far. He is a proven player. Iafallo might turn out to be better than Pearson, and his contract is not only longer than Pearson's, but costs more too. Your logic, if you had one, isn't consistent at all. You're so hellbent on trying to prove your case that you are willingly ignoring stuff, or exaggerating your claims to try and sound right. Unfortunately, your point is easily refuted. The fact that you tried to sarcastically claim "Iafallo is twice the player that Pearson is" shows how disingenuous you are about rational discussion. That was my entire point.
  4. No chance this is happening. Lind is showing all the signs of a prospect going well.
  5. You forgot about Schmidt. Schmidt's gonna be protected over Bowey. On the other hand, Rafferty is also be eligible too if I'm not mistaken. I think Juolevi and Lind are eligible, are they not? Juolevi for sure has played quite a few professional games.
  6. Actually no, he's not. Show statistics to prove this. Also, Iafallo's contract is longer and more expensive than Pearson. You are so wrong on so many levels.
  7. Even if that turned out to be the case, Jim Benning could still match it and we'd still have cap space. I'm SURE he'll be given the green light to buyout contracts in such a scenario. There is no way AQ will let Pettersson walk.
  8. I don't think an offer sheet would be worth it. Pettersson is good, but the price to pay for the Canucks would be extremely steep. This is, of course, assuming that Pettersson would sign that sheet. I don't think he would.
  9. Yet he plays a lot of minutes and against top competition. https://canucksarmy.com/2020/03/02/tyler-myers-vs-advanced-stats/ Just taking a peek at Tyler Myers’ most basic set of advanced numbers isn’t enough to get the full picture of why some pundits described him as “below replacement-level.” Yes, you're very hilarious, silky. A clown really.
  10. But this is the hilarious thing about this fanbase. If they 'sold low' (I use the Neely example not to make the comparisons between the two players, but the impacts), the same fans like you slagging Benning for giving Virtanen a try will say something along the lines of "omg, Benning mishandled Virtanen!!!11" If they kept him and Virtanen did well, well, you can bet they'll say Benning took on a risk (as they would say for the Miller trade). Most of these naysaying fans will rarely circle back and say, "yup, i was wrong about this". Some of them have. Usually though, they sit comfortably in their couch using the benefit of hindsight to make a judgement because they don't have the foresight to see what's ahead. Virtanen has been a disappointment - no one can spin that in any shape or form, but re-signing him wasn't a terrible idea. If Virtanen doesn't understand this, he's never going to understand at any point in time. So why risk selling low on a player just because you were impatient with him?
  11. I was really excited to see Silovs get drafted. I saw him play against Team Canada and he was an absolute monster in net. Canuck fans are gonna love him.
  12. Myers isn't really a 'poor' defender. What would that make Pouliot?
  13. I think it's Benning's job to look at all players. That being said, I don't think Miller and Schmidt are going anywhere.
  14. Hopefully not on Seattle. Virtanen's almost certainly going to get exposed.
  15. Oh really? Is that why you said Lind was waiver fodder before being proven guilty?
  16. I don't understand CDC logic. Pearson who is apparently 'declining' , if you were to ask the experts, gets more than a few complaints about the length of the contract the amount, which is absurd. Then you have Kole Lind who vastly improved from his first year in the AHL, and followed up with an abbreviated 8 games, but is exactly a PPG. And this dude is apparently waiver fodder. Get a clue, man.
  17. Green's decision making has been questionable at best. Are you really using his standards to judge a prospect's success in an organization? I know Benning keeps talking about retaining the same coaching staff, but I really would like to see the Canucks explore all possibilities before going back to Green. It's time to stop fooling around.
  18. Another foolish post. You don't throw away legit prospects like Lind to the wind. Go watch his highlights and stats before you come and make another ignorant post like you've been doing this thread.
  19. This post shows you that you've never even seen Kole Lind's highlights, or even look at his trajectory since the first AHL season. The kid is winning the praises of everyone who watch him, especially his coach. The kid is an emerging NHL prospect. He is absolutely not waiver fodder. He's a very solid B prospect as it stands.
  20. Looking at Benning's tone during the discussion, he was not happy with Gaudette at all. Benning's too honest for his own good. There's a lot of behind the scenes stuff we don't and won't likely know. Gaudette's wife is only a glimpse of what they are like.
  21. 1) Farhan Lalji reports that Gaudette was the first case and that the covid situation was 'traced back to him". 2) He also said that this was a business deal (team didn't see him as an option at center anymore, etc etc) 3) Gaudette's wife, which you and I talked about earlier.
  22. An RFA, and the Canucks clearly had no intention of extending.
  23. I've been highly disappointed about Gaudette/Micaela because of the Calgary fan who posted about Micaela's comments on the podcast. She didn't apologize for her comments, which were bad in itself. Yet her reluctance to acknowledge what she said was wrong is problematic, and that was about freaking COVID precautions that she didn't want to follow. I'm pretty sure Micaela is the problem, to be clear. NOT Gaudette.
  24. You're missing the point, which was already discussed at length in the previous 10 pages.
