  1. I'm gonna start the auctioning bid at 5 dollars...
  2. Yeah, I rewatched it again, and given the response to what the other girl said, you might be onto something here. If she's disregarding precautions and rolling her eyes (figuratively and practically) at these restrictions, how serious is she really taking this COVID thing? I don't want to say this, but i think she should take this as a HARD lesson for her.
  3. Yeah, either way, that is the real face of Micaela talking, which may or may not be related to why her husband is currently fighting off COVID. Unfortunately, she is not the only one within the hockey world that minimizes or rejects the risks of COVID.
  4. Someone definitely took the time to edit her segment out to make Micaela look bad. Who knows?
  5. It's not that it's a rule or regulation. She said it was a precaution. And she said, "Yeah I'm not gonna follow that, haha". The way she carries herself in that clip doesn't look good for someone who is SUPPOSED to follow all precautions, given that she IS MARRIED TO A HOCKEY PLAYER who is bound tightly to these rules. So yes, it IS a big deal that she is apparently skirting precautions because she wants to go out.
  6. Unfortunately, ppl are defending her like they're her white knight. I agree with you - she should stay off it.
  7. From how she talked in the video clip, she doesn't seem like she can. She just openly dismissed a specific precaution by saying "Yeah, I'm not gonna follow that." This illustrates her 'mistrust' of authorities on this situation, which is DANGEROUS. This implies that she is picking and choosing what she is following (or not), and potentially increases the risk. I'm not saying that Dr. Henry has been perfect with this. This is a separate issue. But the fact that Micaela won't follow precautions because it's not convenient for her is the issue. Her cavalier attitude is the issue. Is it a stretch to think that she has been complacent about COVID regulations? We don't have proof, but her video clip suggests that to be the case.
  8. Yeah, based on her response to the regulations and how she won't "follow" that, this is DEFINITELY not a good look on her part. Edit: I don't think blaming her is the appropriate response. That being said, just look at that clip. She openly dismissed the specific precaution because she wanted to go out. That is NOT GOOD.
  9. I agree - this is not 'art'. The whole valuation thing about art is beyond stupid sometimes, and this is an example of it. Who (in the right mind) would pay 440,000 for a bunch of colours painted in an apparently random way, and the title of it being called "Untitled"? If the painting was supposed to celebrate art - it wouldn't be 'valued' at 440,000, but rather be priceless. And having other people contribute to that artwork - not just solely one person - is why the art is worth so much because people's genuine attempts to translate their artistic skills get put on display. Sadly, that's now how valuations of art work. I wouldn't be surprised if people wanted to launder money by picking up an art work like this, throw a bunch of money to artificially inflate the value of it, and then have a bunch of 'experts' come in and confirm its 'value'. The whole thing looks like a sham.
  10. Seriously, Sportsnet? How tone deaf is this? The &^@#ing Raptors historic win is a bigger story than the Canucks' situation, which is followed closely by the Blue Jays news.
  11. Safe to say the majority of BC people didn't catch covid because of luck and/or proper avoidance measures.
  12. Yeah, I really didn't mean to 'blame' players for getting COVID. I just don't know how they could get it if they're supposed to be sanitized and tested every day.
  13. You misunderstood me. My comment was made while thinking about the players, not the general public. The onus for the players to avoid COVID is probably higher than regular people, given that they're in a separate bubble.
  14. Look at the title - it says Detroit. Also, please remember that the highlight reel one plays for Carolina. Obviously he's not being put up on waivers.
  15. I don't know if reputation calls are a 'thing', but if this were the case, why did Crosby get a penalty for this? Crosby even tried to talk about to the ref, but to no avail. That being said, I agree - don't know why McDavid got nothing, yet Stephenson got punished for this.
  16. I think you raise a good point about something I read too - about finding the proper representation. How do we figure out who is a 'model' vaccine candidate? And how do we figure out how this person will be representative of other people? Yes, there is a limitation of time, but yeah, politicians are scum. They are saying this to hold companies hostage.
  17. But that's hilariously ironic about how you pieced this post together. Though Benning agreed with Judd, your next paragraph states that a GM doesn't actually have time to do any of the work you said, which is probably true for most of the time. A GM does, in part, rely on the work of other scouts, but I'm certain Benning is at MINIMUM aware of the players that are available. In fact, prior to Benning being hired, he was rather proud of the wall of prospects that allowed him to know each team's farm. So, yes, I do believe Benning's contributions do get washed out because people have a bone to pick with him. And that, in my opinion, is academically dishonest. I'm not directing this at you personally, but some posters here just have nothing good to say about Benning.
  18. This is one of the most reasonable sounding posts from you, if not the most. Good points. Other goalies like Jonathan Quick and Jonathan Bernier were thought to be goalies of the future, and then they struggled mightily. Cam Ward is another that comes to mind. It just comes to show people how difficult the position really is. The criticism of goalies of our past didn't help their mental game.
  19. But if that were the case, why did Demko re-sign with the Canucks? Why didn't he go somewhere else and demand a trade? Demko likes Vancouver for obvious reasons, with a big reason on stability here. He likes his teammates and the city. Brackett no doubt deserves credit, but people are so disillusioned with Benning that they're taking away all his credit and splashing it over Brackett, for the sake of rationalizing their hate on the former. That's hilariously bad.
  20. Terrible take, I'm sorry. Are you really going to find negatives about this deal? It's not about the amount, but the term. 5 years is a great term for both sides. Demko gets a nice payraise. The Canucks get to control the cap, knowing exactly how much money will be allocated to goaltending. Then they can spend the rest somewhere else. So if you want to look at it from "9 million total spent on goaltending", that's a really strange and narrow minded way of looking at it.
  21. This is a really good deal for both sides. Demko absolutely deserves to get paid and he's been shown confidence that he's the number 1 guy moving forward. No more question marks in net. Notice how the negative media in this town didn't have the inside sources for this Demko deal? Their focus was pushing the Pearson narrative.
  22. I agree that Green is a mediocre coach, but Alain is far from a mediocre one because he has actually accomplished a lot of accolades. That being said, both Torts and AV play a certain rigid style of game that just doesn't allow certain kinds of players to flourish.
