And not much else. And to think demko wasn't even JBs first choice in that draft.
Demko wasn't even the first choice by Calgary. Mason MacDonald was selected before Demko, just a few picks before. Pick looks great.

Unbelievable. Badly outshot nearly 2 to 1, and we only manage one shot on this PP.
Coaches should never be extended. Not one of them.

This was a game that was painfully obvious that the coach needed to talk to the team. No use of the timeout once again. Game looks out of reach.

It was Provost last week, me this week. I'm beginning to see a link here between you bringing in aspects of people's personal lives (as if it shares any link to their opinions about hockey or how they go about articulating their thoughts in the first place) and the posts/posters you disagree with. Pretty immature and a sign of a very poor, very lazy critical thinker.
I don't even work in ELL but interesting to see you went that route to "own me".
Makes you wonder..
You were the one who questioned whether I worked in ELL. LOL.
Honestly dude, this is beyond sad that you are such a hypocrite.1 hour ago, Alain Vigneault said:Evidently, it doesn't seem like you've ever worked in ELL but you're doubling down anyway to "own the haterz".

Yah but Generous Jim likes to way overpay in dollars and in term...... as well as free NMC/NTC clauses....
Wait, are you sure you're not confusing Gillis?
Jul 1/10 Signed Manny Malholtra Signed a 3 year/$7,500,000 contract with NTC clause. Jul 1/10 Signed Dan Hamhuis Signed a 6 year/$27,000,000 contract with NTC clause. Jun 27/11 Re-signed Kevin Bieksa Re-signed to a 5 year/$23,000,000 contract with a NTC. Jul 1/12 Signed Jason Garrison Signed to a 6-year/$27,600,000 deal with NTC Sep 14/12 Re-signed Alexandre Burrows Re-signed to a 4-year/$18,000,000 deal with NTC Jan 18/13 Re-signed Alex Edler Re-signed to a 6-year/$30,000,000 contract with a NTC Source: https://www.nucksmisconduct.com/2013/5/12/4323514/the-history-of-mike-gillis-tenure-with-the-canucks
People forget that Hamhuis had a NTC.... he didn't waive it. Hamhuis later went to Dallas...
Gillis gave a lot of NTCs. It's part of the business.

Trashing coaching this game. This is indefensible of a performance.

I do hope you're not a teacher. Good god. If your rhetoric is any sampling to how you understand logic, you are not a good teacher.
It's laughable how Motte can be replaced by "lots of players" (your words), but still have this high value in a trade. Lmfao. Basic reasoning skills you lack. Please stay out of the education field. Think about the children!
Critical thinking doesn't mean you are critical about someone that you are constantly thinking of. Hope that helps.

So I think we can put to rest that fights spark a team. This is uninspiring hockey. Lack of focus and obviously, Montreal adjusted this game.

Canucks are killing their own PP. Really poor passing. Nonexistent transition game.

Not everybody has the privilege of English being their native language. Keep that in mind the next time you want to criticize somebody's grammar or sentence structure.
Hope this helps.
What he wrote doesn't have anything to do with English not being his native language. He clearly grasps English words very well; however, he has multiple grammatical mistakes that are just blatant. I'm not surprised you're defending your sheep who thinks Benning is bad, because he's bad.
Hope this helps

Aren't you the guy that brings up Gillis at every turn to defend Benning? I think yes.
Please do not project your vices onto me.

You do realize I haven't mentioned his name in a while, right? I deliberately didn't name drop him because I knew you'd read it

If we are not making the playoffs this year. Which high probability then you sell whatever you can outside the core of (Petey, Boeser, Miller, Horvat, Hogz, Hughes) and other top prospects and accumulate as much draft capital or other prospects as possible.
The collection of picks can then be used to help get rid inefficient contracts like Loui, Beagel, Roussel etc giving us much needed cap flexibility when it's going to still be a buyers market in Free Agency or even be able to take advantage of trades if teams have too many players to protect.
But Jimbo is likely to much of a simpleton to think 10 steps ahead to make moves like these. Likely run out of time just deciding whether or not to even trade.
"to much of a simpleton"?
Your whole post lacks proper grammar, and you're calling someone a simpleton? Yeesh.
I bring up grammar as a part of coherence. If you're not even taking the time to think about how you construct a sentence, you're probably not taking the time to think about what you post either.
Then again, some posters type fine and still make irrational conclusions. Never mind..

Cool. Remind me who you are again?
Nobody cares who you are either. The only thing you're remembered for is making bad takes because of your obsession of criticizing Benning at all costs, even if the argument doesn't make sense.
You said, and I'm paraphrasing here because I'm too lazy to back to page 6, "Because there are dumb GMs" is not a very helpful way of understanding something. Your argument that Tyler Motte should be flipped for a high pick, yet in your words there are "lots of players" like Motte is illogical.
Hope that helps, but I know it doesn't.

Not sure what you guys are looking at that is 100% hit to the head.
It is a hit to the head. I just think it's not suspension worthy because there is a change in height, and the guy was already committed to the hit. I guess it's a moot point at this point though.

This is terrible given we have been a rebuilding team for the last 8 years and are still near the bottom of the standings
Some people refuse to believe this, but Benning's predecessor played a factor into how slow this process was. Most other teams had some kind of transition period.

Stating that the team would be smart to take any offer of a 2nd (or more) for Motte =/= "Motte is worth a 2nd". Reading is hard, I know.
Hope this helps.
This begs the question - why would a team offer a 2nd rounder or higher if Motte can be replaced by a lot of players. Logic is hard, I know.
Hope this helps.

Well, if there is no movement, there will be no improvement!
I like the players, honestly. But I have to question the direction of this team at this point, if they are not making changes. Are they expecting Stanley Cup results from these existing players?

For what it's worth, I'm happy to keep Motte and Schmidt. But if offers come along that make sense or are beyond their value, it's crucial we pull the trigger. A lot of players can come in and do what Motte does. Less so for Schmidt but he's also replaceable.
Development time is key but with our competitive timeline being pushed back by 2 years, we don't necessarily have a need for picks to develop straight away. According to the experts on this board, Lind/Gadjovich/Woo are all studs in the making so we should be fine.
So using your logic, wouldn't this mean that Motte wouldn't be as valuable as you are claiming? Why would anyone want to pay for a player that can be replaced by "a lot of players"?

This. You've got four officials on the ice and somehow none of them seen the play? The disregard to player safety is concerning. And as such players do things to "push the limits" and see what they can get away with.
If a player is suspended 7 games and the refs on the ice didn't even call a penalty on the play clearly they missed on their job and some action towards them needs to take place. If action has taken place then it should be made public knowledge just like when a player is fined.
Here's another bad one. The hockey stick is truly a multifaceted tool.

So are you saying we have a chance?

Classic CDC, freaking out when somebody posts a fresh, well thought out take that goes against what they want to hear.
That's hilarious. One of Alain's buds from his fantasy hockey group comes out to white knight his damsel in distress. Pathetic.

Panthers have been rebuilding since the dawn of man. Their all time goal leader is ollie &^@#ing jokinen. Stephen Weiss owns their most games played. The best player they've ever had is just our sloppy seconds.
I used to think you and I just shared different opinions regarding green. But its clear now that you're either a troll or delusional.
You seem so happy when we lose and just a bitter loser when we win. You are in no way a fan of this team man.
Yeah, I feel similar to you, except I agreed on his points about Green. Yet tonight, Green did nothing wrong, but Canucks2288 still complains. The team stuck with their gameplan and there wasn't any head scratching moves. Virtanen was playing regular shifts and not taken off. Nothing was tampered. Green couldn't be blamed for tonight's loss.

I think we are better than we think too, not for this year necessarily but moving forward.
Our defensive play has turned the corner as of late, it's now better than last year imo.
It's amazing how Myers/Schmidt has played. It's a night and day difference. None of the hiccups they've made earlier in the season. Hughes had one that was just unfortunate, but a hint of what things used to be... hopefully....
