  1. I agree for most of them. I've bolded some of them, but I'll expand below here. What I didn't like: Pearson - for all his playoff heroics/experience, sure didn't do much. He's not a bad person but I think he's too expensive as a floater. Toffoli - invisible for much of the playoffs except that one game in St. Louis. He just might be taking time to recover. Virtanen - a non contributor for the most part, aside from two goals. He's going to get traded for sure this offseason. No way Benning's extending. I was always hopeful for Virtanen panning out. Eriksson - same thing, too expensive for what he brings and what he doesn't bring. He's not a bad guy, but the game's too fast for him. Sad decline of a very productive career. Sutter/Beagle - they are good on faceoffs/defensively, but they are both kinda slow and get hemmed in a lot, which I've noticed throughout the series.
  2. This is how a simple PP should have been executed. Get it on net. I really think that they need to overhaul the special teams coaches. Crap PP cost us.
  3. I told you guys. Refs are gonna be gifting PPs this game, look for that.
  4. He's very well spoken. Really good find, Benning.
  5. What's the deal with that? I guess Kielly has more experience than Dipietro?
  6. Why bother posting at all? You missed the entire point of my post. I am not complaining about the Canucks not being in the spotlight. I'm complaining that the Canucks are barely covered in the video, and if they were covered, they were an afterthought compared to the other teams. Last time I checked, the Canucks are an NHL team. They deserve as much of a 'spotlight' as the other teams. If you even bothered to watch the video, you'd see exactly what I mean. Maybe try posting when you turned your brain on, instead of your egotistical prick?
  7. I just watched this, and I feel insulted. So much has been said in the media (Larry Brooks of NYR - aka Brooksie, Tortorella's 'best friend') that the Canucks were the ones who led the charge of boycotting the games, yet this video completely ignores that. There is much more focus on how the Vegas team was "energized" by this racial injustice movement, and someone like Bo Horvat who did speak on the panel gets completely ignored. For a "Canada Only" release, it sure ignores the Canucks. What an "amazing" job NHL. It looks like the Canucks won't get an easy time from this point forward in the playoffs. We are going to be written off the script by the NHL. I'm calling it; if we lose Game 6, it will be entirely because of reffing. The NHL to me is making it obvious that it doesn't care about the Canucks at all.
  8. The reason they "leave him alone" is because he has no substance. He only recycles the same dribble.
  9. Two cases where a car is burned out/torched. No criminality. HMMM.
  10. I didn't know that Virtanen was a Euro. The reason Virtanen was drafted was due to his Canadian style of play.
  11. I really doubt you played at a competitive level, aside from online gaming. Your posts show a toxic mindset that even if you did play hockey for a bit, you didn't go far. No one would've wanted you on their team just like no one on this board wants you around. All your posts are on trolling level.
  12. Yeah he's been stellar. But this is to be expected. Goaltending is definitely going to be a key part of a playoff.
  13. I still don't understand why people thought Harper did a good job. People complaining about Trudeau (rightly or wrongly) have seemed to forget the authoritarian policies that Harper was introducing.
  14. Demko's worth a 1st, but maybe not a high 1st. He's got a ton of potential. Definitely worth at least a 2nd.
  15. I read an article about Asian Canadians from Hong Kong are divided about voting Conservatives. A lot of want to vote Conservatives because of "tough on China" stance, a stance which is very weakly held by the Liberals and other parties. Some just like O'Toole as a leader. Other people think that Conservatives don't have much to offer except that hard Chinese stance, yet they don't necessarily like the Liberals either. The Asian vote, at least in BC, is going to be influential to the election from what I understand. Trudeau really needs to address the Chinese issue ASAP if he wants to separate himself from the Conservatives.
  16. See that's the thing. Some people don't give him any credit - and I fully agree that he hasn't capitalized when the Conservatives are run like a hot mess. He has done some good things but they are usually overlooked with the bad stuff, like deals with shady countries like Saudi Arabia, WE scandal (a totally avoidable situation), etc. There are many things he probably should have done better, make no mistake. But to give him no credit at all about decriminalization of pot, the ejection of Senate members from Liberal partisanship and other efforts, is a series of gross omissions. It seems funny to me that the outgoing Conservative leader has yet to give up his American citizenship, but had the talk about doing it. No one pressured him except himself. And I find it interesting that you'd rather a leader make excuses. Why?
  17. https://newsradiowrva.radio.com/blogs/jeff-katz/blm-leader-calls-white-people-subhuman-genetic-defects A co-founder of the Toronto chapter of the Black Lives Matter organization wrote in a since-deleted Facebook post that "white people are a genetic defect of blackness." "Whiteness is not humxness," Yusra Khogali wrote in 2016. "In fact, white skin is sub-humxn." She added that white people "are recessive genetic defects. this is factual." "White ppl need white supremacy as a mechanism to protect their survival as a people because all they can do is produce themselves," she continued. "Black ppl simply through their dominant genes can literally wipe out the white race if we had the power to." Khogali stated that white people have a "higher concentration of enzyme inhibitors which suppresses melanin production." She also added that "melanin is important for a number of things such as strong bones, intelligence, vision and hearing." Khogali also tweeted in 2016, "Plz Allah give me the strength to not cuss/kill these men and white folks out here today." I think she was simply talking about how the 'whiteness' of the skin is a genetic variation, and how 'whiteness' is a recessive trait, much like red hair, was. What Khogali said was not really scientifically verifiable and she is spewing some racist rhetoric, much like how some people think blacks are subhuman (claims like blacks are lower in intelligence, etc). That shows that she said some pretty stupid things, but reflects her reaction to what her life was like. She was probably raised in a racist/slighted household. And not to justify her actions/words, we seem to ignore the white racists that are raging across the US.
  18. So if someone said "Go Canucks Go" and rioted the city, did you call or identify them as Canuck fans? They (rioters) weren't wearing Canuck clothing for the most part, and all the rioters, for some reason, resided in the suburbs rather than Vancouver itself. This meant that they came over to the place to trash downtown when the opportunity presented itself. Yet not all Canuck fans trashed downtown. How do you resolve these diffferences in "Canuck fans"?
  19. I think it's worth considering why other parties don't want a so-called "democratization" of democracy. I believe parties don't really care about having people's voices heard. They just want enough votes so they can stay in power. That's it. Unlocking these unheard voices is not a priority - and if you think of it from their perspectives, why should this be important? Who cares if 40 percent (or whatever the turnout was) of the people don't come out to vote? Those votes could go unpredictably away from your party. No party is gonna love the power of democracy at that point. Democracy is a nice fantasy.
  20. Guns are obviously an issue, but I would question the "culture" of America. By this, I am talking about the hatred/distrust that is responsible for creating a poisoned population. We've seen first hand how Trump has manipulated the population to turn against each other. He divided people on many categories - for example, race, gender, immigration, and politics, specifically political affiliations. He is banking on the fact that people are too preoccupied with their prejudices that they won't wake up to see what's actually going on. Trump is playing Americans for fools.
  21. But it is difficult. What advantage is there for a government (or a corporation, because let's face it, there is a ton of lobbying that happens that influence who come into power) to let more people's votes count for something? Aside from this vague utopian idea of democracy, there is no real advantage. It's best to limit the amount of votes that come in.
  22. Electoral reform was a bold attempt by a desperate party trying to be "progressive". To me, I realize that the reasons for the Liberals not to be able to deliver on it (but still deliver on other promises like pot) tells me that there was a lot of behind the scenes stuff that Trudeau can't talk about. I believe certain groups in society DO NOT want electoral reform, and thus, that is what happened. Oddly enough, Trudeau was willing to release senate members from the party. This was probably a good thing, yet people forget this. Note how the Conservatives did not follow suit. Was there a reason for this? You bet there was. Politics is a game of blackmail. Think about why things happen more.
