  1. Lol... How could they NOT be worried? They just signed this dude to a mega mega deal, in spite of their lack of cap space. Behind the scenes, I'm sure they're trying to be as discrete as possible about their 'panic'.
  2. His wife did. She literally admitted it in the podcast. There was no shame at all.
  3. Gaudette was heavily speculated as patient zero. He was the one who went to Whistler with his wife, and that was a COVID hotspot. Though it may be unfair to pin the COVID spread of the Canucks, he was pretty negligent. Gaudette's wife also flagrantly disregarded team protocols (as seen in the video in which she was interviewed). She said those rules weren't going to stop her from shopping for her stuff. Both of them seem like selfish, inconsiderate people. I also remember how certain Canuck players removed him from their Twitter friends. (Bo being one of them)
  4. I clearly remember what she said about the masks. Wasn't a good look at all. A very stupid thing to say.
  5. Oh? So if this was in fact that case, why bring it up? I am not a 'homer'. This just proves that you see what you want to see. Benning's failures are not a mystery. There's disagreement on what exactly he failed. I don't expect you to see the shades of grey. You're pretty incapable of doing that.
  6. They were anarchists too (anti-government). They were also vaccine deniers. I have no idea why they would decide to die for their silly cause.

  8. And Gillis? Lmfao... Gillis may have brought a winning product, but when it comes to Gillis' drafting and development, the Canucks got siphoned dry, leading to an erosion of futures. Gillis was a 8/10 when everything was going fine, but when taking into account the prices that were paid to get to that point, it's closer to a 3 or a 4.
  9. Benning doesn't honestly deserve as much of the blame for the product on the ice, but the fact that HE was the one who extended Green really shows how he shot himself in the foot, despite all the decent decisions made before that. If Green didn't run this bench, maybe Benning's teams would have done better. Green was DEFINITELY the problem, and Benning failed to identify/address that.
  10. Overall, this is an interesting perspective to Colliton. As for the bolded, this sounds too much like Green. Green was a coach that never truly adapted, regardless of the rosters he was given.
  11. Gillis is trash though. He legitimately messed with the Canucks prospect pool with his poor drafting and development, which has far greater ramifications than whatever Benning did. There's a reason why no other team has taken him back on, despite his successes in Vancouver.
  12. Green has seriously done nothing to warrant an NHL job. Look at his freaking career winnings, as you pointed out; none are winning ones, including the AHL. Green is pretty bad as a coach.
  13. This is exactly it. People are praising JR/Allvin like they've done something revolutionary. Not really. They've been given carte blanche to modify the team. That's all. And so far, we've only signed two free agents, both of which are not NHL proven. We have some new staff, but that's about it. The roster has remained the same. It's illogical to praise the new management which has done little to modify the NHL roster itself. Seems like people were just simply headhunting.
  14. Let's be honest. He's signed a couple of free agents, but we have no idea how they'll turn out. For all we know (and I'm hoping this isn't the case), they could be just footnotes in a mediocre season. Benning's tried to sign the "proven" players, albeit at premium prices, but those have rarely worked out. Most Benning criticizers have talked about the lack of AHL development. Although the AHL development has not been radically better than other years, Johnston is still here, even after all the evaluations by JR/Allvin. Maybe the people criticizing everything don't actually have all the information, in which case, what we are seeing is that people are chasing for evidence in order to put a guilty verdict with Benning. That's confirmation bias in a nutshell.

@VancouverHabitant Yes, I'm trying to buy low at the moment. ;)

@Rubik Actually, I was very surprised by how good looking they were. This isn't to simp them though. The whole point of me bringing it up was that women are being actively included into terrorist forces, perhaps due to them being especially vulnerable.

  16. Exactly. Both GMs have had their weaknesses, and it's problematic in any analysis to start making excuses for GMs. It is a fact that Gillis had a very poor draft record, and the failure to replace players with homegrown prospects resulted in major consequences.
  17. This is an excuse to justify the complete misses by Gillis. Gillis had plenty of chances for better draft selections. Horvat and Hodgson were two opportunities for him to select in the top 10. Moreover, Gillis' overall inability to successfully draft someone in ANY round is a killer. Imagine missing almost all the picks in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th rounds perennially. Every single year for 7 years, except for Hodgson, Hutton, Connaughton (traded before he came in) and Horvat.
  18. It's funny you say that. Our prospect pool/roster team (in terms of potential) is significantly better than what Gillis left the team. If our current team requires 4-5 years to rebuild, how long would it have taken with a complete barebones prospect pool that ONLY successfully drafted Horvat, Hutton, Connaughton, and Hodgson?
  19. Ryan Johnson was a Benning hire, and since people have been crapping on the Canucks' AHL development, what does this say about him keeping a job? I'm not trying to spin any agenda whatsoever. I'm trying to dissect the inconsistent and illogical narratives to prop up/dismantle certain people.
  20. Microdosing is totally a thing with other pills. It's often used to ease into the effects, particularly with stuff like weed, or something else that gives visuals.
  21. I'm sure it's just as 'easy' to argue that Lilgrin got some votes for being Rookie of the Year too. Totally unbiased...
  22. I think it's worth discussing how truly biased some of these votes are AGAINST Matthews.
  23. Am I the only one that thinks these jokes are repetitive and unoriginal? That was a time to celebrate the player, and the joke made it about the city. The hilarity that the Leafs have not succeeded in the playoffs is well-known already.
  24. I really can't put my finger on how twisted these narratives have become in order to support some idea that Benning is not good.
  25. Nah. In all fairness, Gillis inherited a team that won two Presidents' trophies. It's his job to trade and develop players for the team. Gillis couldn't draft/develop players at all, given the massive amount of draft misses. Due to these misses, the Canucks tried to buy their way out of these lost years, namely the Player Name one, and THAT was a disaster. For all the crap that Benning gets, Gillis sure gets a free pass for missing practically every single pick not named Horvat, Hutton, Connauton, or Hodgson. Four good picks in all the years of Gillis being GM. That's AWFUL.
