  1. All those coaches have far more experience than Green does. I think it would be insane to suggest that they wouldn't do better than Green. From the preseason, Green didn't do a good job preparing the players; this is not even a debate.
  2. Are you serious, bud? The amount of Green apologists is astounding. Just because he might be a decent guy doesn't mean he's good at his job. Green is not an NHL calibre coach. He's been given far more chances than a rookie coach usually gets. 2012-13 Portland Winterhawks WHL Head‡ 47 37 8 0 2 0.809 Won Championship 2013-14 Utica Comets AHL Head 76 35 32 0 9 0.520 Out of Playoffs 2014-15 Utica Comets AHL Head 76 47 20 0 9 0.678 Lost in Finals 2015-16 Utica Comets AHL Head 76 38 26 0 12 0.579 Lost in round 1 2016-17 Utica Comets AHL Head 76 35 32 0 9 0.520 Out of Playoffs 2017-18 Vancouver Canucks NHL Head 82 31 40 0 11 0.445 Out of Playoffs 2018-19 Vancouver Canucks NHL Head 82 35 36 0 11 0.494 Out of Playoffs 2019-20 Vancouver Canucks NHL Head 69 36 27 0 6 0.565 Lost in round 3 2020-21 Vancouver Canucks NHL Head 56 23 29 0 4 0.446 Out of Playoffs 2021-22 Vancouver Canucks NHL Head 21 6 13 0 2 0.333
  3. That woman is bat$&!# crazy. She is a terrorist - does she not qualify as such? Destruction is not needed when you are calling for violence. That's a terrorist IMO.
  4. He also started the story about Hughes on IV as well, but was shot down.
  5. Yes, it's become very clear that Green should've been fired weeks ago. We already know that he shouldn't have been extended to begin with, but given how this preseason had started, he should've been fired after 10 games.
  6. I think there's some kind of misunderstanding between the two. However, the use of Matt's words is also confusing and potentially antagonizing. Just seems like Canucks hockey is some reality show mess. The Leafs don't deserve a TV show, but this mess, including this season does. What an absolute trainwreck.
  7. I think the problem largely lies with Green and his systems (and/or Baumgartner). He was the AHL AND NHL coach for much of this current 'era' of the Canucks. And look at how poorly our PK has become with coach Green and his vastly improved roster.
  8. Still waiting for wallstreetamigo to admit he was wrong about Gaudette, that Benning "sold low" on him. Gaudette obviously had next to no value at the time of the trade.
  9. In this situation, the owner needs to do something here. Green was a total mistake of a hire. And the fact that Benning stuck with Green as long as he did means that Benning sucks at evaluating his staff. I believe Benning is deep down a nice guy. I don't know about Green. He comes across as arrogant, as some other posters say as well.
  10. The fact that we traded away all the so-called 'problem players', but we still haven't eliminated the 'bad apple'
  11. I don't see the connection that you're trying to make here. Did Babcock do something on the same scale as Brad Aldrin? No.
  12. Boudreau doesn't have the same commitments... Just hire him and watch this team do well in the season
  13. No, you were wrong. You actually contradicted yourself on the whole media thing. First you supported the media by saying they were 'telling it as they heard it'. Then you contradicted yourself by saying that the media would be boring without the media spinning the truth. Then when you were called out for it, you spun it like everyone else was misunderstanding what you were saying.
  14. My friend - you're not always ready to be wrong. You just rarely accept that you are. Gimme a break.
  15. Please apply - she can't possibly do any worse than Green. She really can't. And no one can use the stupid excuse that "she's a woman". We have a man who outright sucks at his job.
  16. Seattle and Vancouver are the two jokes of the Pacific Division. I knew from the very start that Seattle had an awful expansion draft.
  17. This is probably the best example that the team has rejected Green outright. Green is no longer a rookie coach trying to teach young players how to play the game. This is a coach in his 5th season with the best roster he (or any coach before him) has had since 2011. That's freaking insane.
  18. We can pretty much rule out any kind of comeback, despite the numbers saying "we have a chance". As long as it's not 0, there's still always a chance. The problem is that nothing will change without a change of coaching of some kind. Firing a GM does nothing for a team short term. Green should never have stayed as long as he did.
  19. It's definitely coaching. This is what happens when you put your money on a coach that has historically NEVER gotten more than 50 percent in wins. The bubble was an anomaly and should've been viewed as such. How they decided on Green for a TWO year extension when the Colorado coach (with much better records/performances) got the same much later in the season, I'll never understand. Just poor decision making from up top. Given how poorly the preseason went, Green should've been on thin ice the moment that the season was going the wrong way. There was so much coverage on how POOR the preseason was. If Green couldn't sort it out within the first 10-15 games, he wasn't gonna get it done. The firings should've happened weeks ago.
  20. Not for a long long while. There's only 1/3 of the season completed. It's only out statistically when the remote chances of win result in 0. That won't happen until MAYBE the last 10 games of the season. Until then, it'll be a low percentage, but not IMPOSSIBLE (technically speaking). Thereotically, if the Canucks win all their games (unlikely), they could very well make a cinderella run.
  21. Really bad examples. Most of them don't back down, at least not to the extent that Horvat does. Have you actually watched Crosby play? He's not Garland, but he's gotten into quite a few scuffles. Giordano is tough as nails. Horvat is a soft spoken leader, which I don't mind. I just prefer that he not turn away and avoid scuffles when the opportunity for him to step up comes.
  22. I have since faded on my liking of Horvat. When other players get wrecked, Horvat turns away the other cheek - typical Canuck hockey. Now maybe Horvat's game isn't scrappy, but if you're there and you SEE something bad happen. People should step up, regardless of their size. I know if someone was getting beat up, would you really just turn around and pretend you didn't see it? That's what Horvat did when Podkolzin got hit hard.
