  1. Coach tells GM which players he wants on the roster. He's also overlooking the defensive deficiencies and giveaways, while blatantly giving Juolevi a harder standard to live up to. Imagine being told to take over an emergency room surgery tonight and your buddy who was supposed to do it is going on a date with the nurse.
  2. Juolevi isn't a bust. Also, it is clear as day that Juolevi is treated differently (worse) than Rathbone. Rathbone can have all the giveaways, but he'll still be in the lineup. Green obviously is in love with him. It's irrational.
  3. We, unfortunately, aren't going to get much for Juolevi. He's worth more to us than what some other teams will give back in return. Green, unfortunately, plays favourites, and we can see this play out consistently in his rosters.
  4. Yes, they are a legendary team, but even as a guy into history, the current teams that are otherwise known as the original 6 teams (including Montreal) have nothing to do with their previous iterations. None of these current teams are considered cup dynasties. The Oilers and Leafs are yearly losers for the most part, especially Toronto. Ha. And they get their own TV show. Christ.
  5. So much for selecting people based on character. I really question Green's choices of players.
  6. We should really keep track of how many projects Green has gone through. How many of them actually turn out as failures and how many times Green keeps going back to his other previously familiar ones? Leipzig was a major MISS when it comes to character. Seems that Green completely flubbed on that one.
  7. I think Juolevi was protected for a reason. Gadj wasn't. The problem was that Gadj and Lind were both viewed as disappointments by the team, though probably mostly by Green. I haven't seen a player who has been in Green's doghouse come out a favoured player by Green. Baertschi (was once favoured, but was basically run out of town) Virtanen Player Name Goldobin Juolevi You can see that these players can try to produce, but they'll end up getting benched for no good reason. There are probably several others.
  8. The excuse Gadj isn't a penalty killer is super flimsy because he's playing Rathbone in all situations, even though JR doesn't usually kill penalties. I think Di Giuseppe isn't a penalty killer either, yet here's still here. Macewen is always around, but everytime he shows up, he almost always doesn't show up. So green doesn't play him that often, but he's fine with pushing out Gadj. I think Green just plays his favourites. It's more apparent than ever now.
  9. I haven't seen anyone who was previously in Green's doghouse go on to flourish later on. We've seen several of Green's pet projects be flown in, but once the player goes into the doghouse regardless of their past, they ain't getting out. Virtanen Player Name Gadj Juolevi Baertschi (to some extent, previously coached in whl)
  10. JR is exceptional with his skating. What seems to be blatantly overlooked is the defensive side of the game. It seems to me that he is given carte blanche to do whatever he pleases, even if it costs the team goals. We've seen giveaways in both ends of the ice and the McDavid goal right to the net was pretty blatant of a defensive lapse. Rathbone can kill penalties, sure. But he in no way outperformed Juolevi here. Look no further than the amount of times the team has been shorthanded and look at the amount of time Juolevi has been trusted to do it. You can also see that in such situations, Juolevi is not given a single minute of PP time. And despite the heavy PK work of Juolevi, he has fewer minutes played compared to JR. What we see is that Rathbone is being given preferential treatment over Juolevi. That's my observation and I know I'm not alone here.
  11. I'm not surprised that Green is showing his bias by putting in Rathbone. I don't hate Rathbone but Rathbone left his assignment last game and let McDavid go through on the last goal. And Green is totally okay with that. Meanwhile Juolevi is obviously being treated differently. No PP time and fewer minutes than Rathbone. Jesus. You can't get out of Green's doghouse once you're in it, it seems. I'm fully expecting that Green will have Juolevi traded.
  12. Ron Francis too. He chose Lind in the expansion draft.
  13. I think Benning does deserve some criticism for allowing Gadj to slip from this team. However, JB was the busiest guy this offseason, making huge splashes in areas that needed upgrading. OEL is a big upgrade from whatever we had. Poolman proving that he's much better than a plug. Garland is all hustle, but unfortunately he's trying to find his stride on this team. Gadj didn't deserve to be waived.
  14. No. Even if it's a goal, he'll probably save it for a nonexistent timeout
  15. Classic Green. You cannot say this is the player's fault when Green's rosters have these penalties.
  16. Mac hasn't done much. He's like Virtanen without the controversy. You want mac to show more and he doesn't.
  17. Yeah, and it's kinda sad that Green is trying so hard to push for Rathbone to make the team. It's clear that Rathbone needs more work in the defensive zone. It's okay.
  18. Macewen doesn't have a spot on Green's team. Clear as day. The problem was that Gadj didn't have much of a sample compared to what Macewen had. Sooo.. if Macewen with a bigger sample proves to be ineffective, we keep him, but let a younger, unknown player in Gadj walk for free? Poor decision by Green.
  19. It's kind of sad. Maybe Player Name was simply a victim of Green's poor treatment
  20. Gadj has had a few preseason goals, but green thinks he sucks because he can't PK. Rathbone plays very little PK, but is allowed giveaways and inexperienced defensive lapses, but shoves Juolevi with the crap sandwich of PKing. A night and day of a difference.
  21. I supposed Green was given a tight leash with the hiring of Shaw. I just don't understand why the Canucks bothered to extend Green when he ends up repeating the same results almost every year. How does Gadj go down before Macewen? Lmfao. Macewen has had a disappointing preseason and he could've been waived before Gadj. Like holy $&!#, Green.
