I read before we got benning that he was never one for the media and didn't really like doing interviews. It doesn't bother me if he isn't a great public speaker as that's not really important for behind the scenes gm duties. We got Linden to give the eloquent public interviews.

There's nothing wrong with tanev and no one hates him. You have to give to get and it's just that tanev has no offensive upside and defensive dmen like him are easier to replace.

Hell no to shinkaruk! He's one of the offensive stars our team desperately needs. I'd trade tanev over hunter any day of the week.

It's cause schroeder is really undersized, while nylander and ehlers are giroux size. You're right in that we can't really predict what any of these players will become, but I just want to hit a home run over the safe pick. People say someone like ritchie is safe because if he busts he can be a 3rd liner, whereas nylander/ehlers would be out of the nhl. Well who has the highest floor isn't appealing to me because you can acquire many third liners through trades and ufa. This team is full of 3rd liners and that's why we suck because we have 3rd liners playing with kesler on our 2nd line. Nylander/ehlers have the higher ceiling, but are higher risk, but if the risk pays off we can have a star on our hands, something I don't see with ritchie/virtanen. I'd rather roll the dice and get a star player over the safe player with size because this team really lacks offensive talent.

It's so hard to decide b/w the two, but if I had to choose, I'd probably go nylander for now because he has the potential to be the best offensive player in this draft and this team desperately needs skill. I just hope we draft either over ritchie/virtanen because I don't want another taylor pyatt/raffi torres because people are so in love with size. This team needs skilled players the most over just size, but less skill.

I don't really put much stock in those tests with 17 year old kids. Kevin Durant couldn't do one bench press at the nba combine and he's an mvp super star.

The reason why fans can't come to a consensus is because there is no consensus 6th pick from the experts and professionals. The top 5 is set in stone by the experts and after that no one can agree.

Canucks didn't really go off the board with bure. Other teams thought bure wasn't draft eligible and the canucks did, so took a chance. Other teams called foul on the pick.

I was wondering why there was no nylander on your list, then realized your list is only for NORTH AMERICAN players. No wonder he's number 6 as he's not that high on any list that combines every player in the draft.

I was in favour of firing AV, so I don't miss him one bit as he'd run his course with this team. However, I wasn't a fan of the torts hiring but was willing to let it play out to see how it went. Suffice it to say, torts has been a big failure so far here. This team is unwatchable with his boring system and there's basically zero entertainment value from watching games these days.

Say what?!! I want free tickets too!! If the canucks had hundreds to give away, why didn't they give them to the minor hockey kids after the contest screwup?
