[Rumor] Panarin Interested in Vancouver
Russ replied to SuitnTie's topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
Every time Risto is brought up on HFBoards Buffalo fans are demanding a Boeser type player in return which I wouldn't even touch an ask like that. Risto is a tire fire in his own end also, yea he might help the offense and put up around .5 ppg from the back end but when your constantly getting torched in your own end I wouldn't even touch it. -130 or so in 6 seasons is bad and yea I know Buffalo isn't great for a long time but hell thats just bad.... -
Wow that was one of the worlds most vague articles I have ever wasted my time reading...

So sad to hear. Anti-vaccers affect the young, old and those who can't get it for medical reasons. The excuse "well no one gets it anymore" was because so many were vaccinated that the disease had such difficulty grabbing victims and now with this new wave over the past 10-15 years its really starting to rear its ugly head. I wish the best for this child, I can't imagine if my son got sick like this what it would feel like, especially at such a young age its not like the kid has a good fight since the body is still developing so much and this is just like a big road block to the body.

[Speculation] Canucks Likely to push for Gardiner on July 1st
Russ replied to buddyguy's topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
On a 1 or 2 year deal whatever, but no more than that ffs. I am sick of these long term mediocure UFA signings we keep doing. -
The SNC-Lavalin Scandal - Jody Wilson-Raybould Refuses to leave Office

Pretty much what politicians are good at. Bending things or changing things but not going over that fine line of illegal, but just enough that everyone gets pissed off. -
Not at all. I know in Abby/Mission/Chilliwack I can get it briefly clear enough to listen then it just goes to un listenable. Even their app sucks, some reason every time I play it and my phone gets a notification it goes deathly quiet and I have to restart the whole app. 1040 doesn't do that on my phone, wish 650 would up their game and get better quality out here.
-
last i heartd their ratings were still better even without canucks rights so i doubt 1040 is going anywhere any time soon. and its great Pratt is gone now too...
-
Pretty much the reason I default to 1040 also. I have tweeted and commented a few times to them why their signal is such trash, such hit and miss while 1040 always comes in pretty damn clear. I really like Auld and Shah from 650, Ricco is pretty good for soccer stuff and always been a fan of Rintoul, miss him and Bmac for the old morning show and him for the Lions coverage. Overall as a whole sports station and not just hockey I feel 1040 is better. Better overall interviews and guests and insiders personally. I like Halford and Brough a lot, somewhat Sekeras and Price but Moj and Donny I can do without, their time has come and gone, its more of a comedy show now for them as opposed to sports. Also I listen to the Sports Market a lot with Tom, quite enjoy that segment on Saturday and if I ever catch it in the evenings.

[Speculation] Adam Fox testing UFA status next summer.
Russ replied to Mathew Barzal's topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
And as much as he will miss out on some millions by not going an year earlier to the NHL, depending on his degree he can probably make much more than that post retirement. -
I just looked on realtor and it looks like theres TONS of condos are in the 500-650k range or so which isn't horrible to live in the downtown of a major city. After the 20% down, a mortgage on a place around 650k isn't overly hard for a couple who make half decent money.

I have actually joked with the wife a bit about doing this. With her company there is the potential to move to other parts of the country. We do like where we live and do like being near both of our families, but I have told her if a job comes up she likes she should take it. My job is a lot more easily transferable than hers so I can shift basically anywhere.

I love living in Chilliwack, outside of when they spray the fields for a day or so its great. Nice mountains, way less concrete and most definately less people (which I like, can't stand busy Vancouver).

BC Premier Horgan Says Changing Time May End Soon
Russ replied to DonLever's topic in Off-Topic General
Well that's bad then haha! I guess with my work and shifts switching between days and nights things like time change don't bother me nearly as much. -
BC Premier Horgan Says Changing Time May End Soon
Russ replied to DonLever's topic in Off-Topic General
Do people really find it that bad? I can honestly say it's never really bothered me, maybe the next day my normal sleeping time is a little off but after a day I'm used to it already. -

CBC radio yesterday talked about it how she was seeking legal advice on what she's allowed to and not allowed to say. I don't know all these ins and outs I haven't followed this much, been to busy with my own stuff to really follow it. If it's true what Trudeau says and there's nothing to hide and he wasn't instructing her on how to do her job then there's no reason she shouldn't be able to talk. Be interesting to see how this plays out in the end. -
OH $&!# my buddy has a bad back right now after being T-Boned last December. Hope the best for your wife.
-
Oh I hope they make fish farms land locked. Go find some industrial land and build a giant pool there. Also seal cull is needed, they are slowly wiping out our salmon runs because of over population.
-
Thats true I forgot it got diluted to move thru the pipelines.
-
Problem still is if they are done in Alberta where theres no pipeline going through BC, you still have to send it via rail to BC to get shipped which is still carbon heavy and costly.
-
I love how this topic is dead for days on end and then within a couple hours is just a $&!# fest again haha. I enjoy reading online

Theres lots of people outside of the Chinese who buy in Vancouver. Like you said, people want to be here. The weather is wet but there isn't major winters and stupidly hot summers like other places, lots of wealthy Americans, etc. like to buy out here also but its easy to pick and point out the Chinese. And yea you're right, prices won't drop drastically, they will take a bit of a dip just with the slowing market and the influx of condos gettting popped up for more homes available, but the only people who are looking to sell at a loss are those who have already made their money on the market rising so much.

Seattle Expansion Draft - Who do the Canucks protect?
Russ replied to lukchin's topic in Canucks Talk
If hughes gets a taste at the end of the year like Guadette and Brock did then I think they have to be protected. And lets be honest, even protecting him theres still not any D that I would be terribly upset with losing. Exactly, if he wants to sign you damn well sign him. Its not like we are Nashville and have top end D talent that you are really afraid of losing. Its pretty much the norm now among the league to sign the college kids and let them burn a year now. -
Interesting, didn't see that one coming. I wonder what the cost to make pucks and de-make pucks would do to the cost though. I remember reading about these pucks probably 4-6 months ago, was posted in this thread at one point I believe and was interesting, I just didn't know if the cost would make it financial viable at the end of the day.
