  1. Thank-you, I appreciate that. I've been building stuff digitally since the mid 80's. If you remember the real-estate station back around 1988 - 1990 from Western Cable systems, that was a custom project for the company I worked for back then. I'm still absorbing the fact that, without realizing it, Michael just gave me the ability to directly communicate via email with Patrik and Jim......and pretty much guaranteed that Francesco is going to see this email as it's hit his inbox 3 times due to copying everyone. Now, Michael hasn't responded further, but we'll see.....he may be getting his ass handed to him for granting me direct access to the Canucks senior management team....
  2. The fact that this management group can't figure out how to turn the forum into a profit center for the team is beyond belief. I've been creating online sales, lead generation and business for 25 years and I know multi-million dollar corporations who would KILL to have a direct path to engage their consumers at the level this forum affords the team. This decision shows a complete lack of imagination and understanding of how 21st century business works. Whoever made this decision, needs to be fired as they don't understanding running an organization past the 80's. I don't visit Canucks.com, I come to https://forums.canucks.com and see what's happening. From Forums, I can engage with all of you and I can choose to go to other parts of the Canucks.com site, including ticket sales and the NHL shop which is how they generate revenue. I can access all other parts of the site from here, but the number of times I've just gone to Canucks.com in the last 5 years, I can probably count on one hand and it's probably similar for a lot of you. This is our central access to the team, the place where we rally from and talk and network as a group and a community, but this group doesn't understand that concept for one simple reason. THEY CHOOSE NOT TO ENGAGE THEIR FANS WHERE THEY LIVE! They shouldn't be shutting this down, they should be starting a section in here called GM's corner, where Allvin posts a video once a month, answering some prescreened questions posed there by fans. THAT IS ENGAGEMENT. They should be running promotions directly to their fans, special opportunities that aren't available anywhere else. THAT IS ENGAGEMENT. A part of a businesses 21st century valuation is how many people are visiting their site, their overall traffic count, page views etc. They just did a lot to undermine that, someone needs to make Aqualini aware of that concept and how it will, even at a low level devalue his asset.
  3. I don't know why they wouldn't just transfer this to a private server. Not that difficult...
  4. This has got to be, one of the stupidest decisions I've seen in a long time! How do we sell more tickets? Ohhhh, I know, lets give fans LESS reasons to come to our site! This is Sears letting Amazon replace them on home shopping, because they didn't think the "Internet" would ever catch on level of stupid!
  5. Extremely rare....that's partially why I'm not in a huge hurry to move him before camp. We look pretty solid down the right side at the moment, but if something happened in camp where someone like Hronek got injured again, we'd look really soft without Myers there. If another team has an injury or two on the right side in camp or early season, then Myers value goes up, especially with the ability to move him at the deadline.
  6. Sutter actually made a really good alternate captain when he was healthy long enough for it to work. Problem was, he broke the day he got traded to Vancouver and could never really seem to get past that and put 5 or 6 months together without another injury.
  7. I think Myers will be gone before the start of the season, just from a cap standpoint. He's our easiest guy to trade due to the balance remaining on his deal. All things being equal, I'd keep him till the deadline, but if Pearson is back, we'd need someone else to go down on LTIR before the start of the season to make that work. Now, if it was Myers who went down for 3 - 4 months on LTIR, that could really work out well for us as his value would go up significantly around the deadline.
  8. I thought it would be Pettersson, but really happy with this choice, they are both really exceptional leaders for the team. So, I'm assuming that it will be: Captain: Hughes Alternates: Pettersson Miller and I'm going to say that they will also give an A to Pearson if he is able to overcome a year of not playing and get back to the guy he was in 2021 / 22 season.
  9. Don't think contract status will make any difference on who becomes Captain. I also think that saying someone who has a full year more of contract before becoming a RFA and is going through a complicated contract negotiation is a MASSIVELY over stating the situation. Pettersson has said he wants to be here and part of Canucks success. He's never once said anything else, as much as Canuck fans want to think otherwise.
  10. I still think it will be Pettersson, but Hughes would also be a great choice. The deciding factor will be, who is best in the room, which is something that none of us see.
  11. I actually thought he was starting to improve under our new coaching of Gonchar and Foote. He absolutely needs to be traded from a cap perspective, but I'm not in a huge hurry as I think the right opportunity will present itself.
  12. If we can make the cap work, this would be my preference as well. Worst case, once teams get into camp and the season and players start getting injured, his value will go up even more...
  13. Outside of the fan base rabid need to overthink this, it really makes zero difference if he's signed now or next summer. He's a massive part of this team and for the next 10 months, he can prove again, how big a part of this team he is and earn a bigger overall contract. He's an RFA next summer without a trade prevention clause. As much as some fans want to turn this into a big issue, there really isn't one. He either signs long-term or he doesn't and we trade him for good value, but I think he wants to be in Vancouver, so this will likely get done next summer with an 8 year extension.
  14. And here I thought, the fact that Miller now has a FULL NO MOVEMENT CLAUSE, would curb the number of proposals for trading him.... lol
  15. That took a long time for someone to refuse to post a proposal.... lol
  16. So, I saw a rumor out there (yes, was Eklund), and although I don't believe that Vancouver has seriously looked at moving Hughes, but I do believe that New Jersey would have made inquiries and asked what it would take. So, just really simply, what would it take for you, the fans, to consider moving Hughes. For me to begin the discussion, I think it would start with Nemec and their 2024 1st and then what else they would be adding. Again, not endorsing this idea, just curious what would make you look at reuniting the Hughes brothers all into New Jersey. It's summer, I'm hot and bored and just wanted to do something completely speculative and see what fan reaction is. If you're going to say, NOTHING, then don't play along. There is a price tag where anyone "can" be moved. So, just for fun: To Vancouver: Nemec Bahl 2024 1st 2025 2nd To NJ: Quinn Hughes 2024 4th (return back to NJ) What's yours???
  17. I could definitely see him coming back in December on a 1.25 million cap hit for the year.
  18. So, a lot depends on injuries, which of course, always happen in camp and often early in the season. I think Johansson is NHL ready and will be around, I think there's a good chance that Woo becomes our #7 guy to provide more of an edge to the group that we lost when we traded Schenn. Left side, I think the guy who has quietly worked his way up the charts and didn't look out of place last year was Brisebois. There will be more moves before the puck drops. I think there's a reasonable chance that a trade is in place in principle to move Myers, but only after his bonus is paid.
  19. The reason that this doesn't work is, you will have teams like NYR who will load up and park guys so that they can compete better in the playoffs. They have an unbelievable ability to spend. The cap was put in place to balance the playing field and make it more about management and building a competitive team than just spending whatever you want and being able to spend your way out of mistakes. The cap brings accountability to teams. If you look at where the league was before the cap came in, more than half the teams were losing money and it was really only the top 10 that were actually making anything significant. Under those conditions, the league very well may have collapsed under the weight of Covid restrictions. If you look at where we are now, as per Forbes team values in 2022, EVERY TEAM IN THE LEAGUE Is profitable. https://www.forbes.com/sites/mikeozanian/2022/12/14/nhl-team-values-2022-new-york-rangers-on-top-at-22-billion/?sh=2ac5b5727deb WHY would you ever roll back from that? We had to buy out a player that we didn't want to buy out. This happens to every team, we made a bad decision on a trade and it hurt us and it cost Benning his job, as it should. The economic structure of the league right now isn't perfect, the CBA could use some adjustments here and there, but I don't think there is a single owner in the league who would vote for your suggestion. They are all making money now, not just a few carrying the rest of the league.
  20. It's not a horrible trade, Thanos....deleting one to add sandpaper...
  21. Cap hit is not bad for what he brings every night, but I think they would have been a lot better off giving him 7 million per year with a 4 year term. His style of play does not equal long careers.
  22. Although I think this team has ability to do a 100 point season as they sit right now, it's impossible to fully forecast until we see the last changes that teams will do within the Western Conference. Canucks still need to make at least one trade, baring injury in camp. How that trade rounds out the team will really determine our end position.
  23. I'd say that puts Pettersson about 10.5 - 10.75 as it sits now. If this goes into the season and he's heading to up his last year total, we only go up from there.
