  1. I'm calling Kemell. Button had him as high as 3rd.
  2. We don't know what the offers have been, just total speculation.
  3. So, what you're saying is, Chicago is going to trade that pick to the Canucks for Miller???
  4. Get Will Smith in here to slap somebody...
  5. So, 20 minutes to the start of the draft, it's essentially being reported that..... THERE'S NOTHING TO REPORT!
  6. With the young talent pool that Ottawa has now accumulated, they should be a pretty attractive destination for a player.
  7. We need some better cap space going into Free Agency on 13th, so I think we'll move either Miller or Myers before that starts.
  8. And, there's the Fricken voice of reason again....hasn't someone locked him in a closet yet? He's a hockey god, damnit!!!
  9. They don't, and they don't tell the media that either, which is my point about it being total speculation.
  10. Interesting idea, but their ability to keep him, this far out from him being UFA, shouldn't be our problem. At the deadline, I could see that type of deal.
  11. I've never heard anything from him other than he loves Vancouver. Everything saying that he doesn't is media hearsay and speculation. He is a really good player, and I'm sure his ask on salary isn't unreasonable in terms of where his game is now. If he was willing to sign for 8 years at say 7 million, as opposed to 5 years for 8.5 million per, I'd be pretty good with taking the chance to keep him.
  12. So, here's my take on this.... Miller is 90 - 100 point guy now and probably for about another 3 ish years. I'm completely good with keeping him if we could do a contract that was around 8 million for 4, maybe 5 years. If we can't get to that rate in contract, but we can trade him for a solid, young RD, who can partner with Hughes for a LONG time, as well as a solid, young middle 6C who can generate 50 - 60 points per year for the next 10...ish years, plus a 1st round pick, we're probably in a better position to trade him to someone who's window is open for the next 2 - 5 years.
  13. You are probably right on that, from a budgetary standpoint, it would make sense to do it now. I think the Canucks are playing a game of chicken with other teams, see who flinches first. Vancouver is probably waiting to hear if Miller is going to have any flexibility in his asking price. If not, don't be surprised if they do something draft floor.
  14. I don't think that JR would be in Vancouver if he didn't have clear run of the team. I'm sure that Aqua asks questions, but based on the front office moves that JR has pulled off, I fully believe that he's in completely control.
  15. I disagree, there are more teams with more ability to create space in the summer than there are at the deadline. It doesn't matter if we trade him today or during the next few weeks, the sense of urgency is from the fans, no one else. All things considered, I would still rather re-sign him, as long as it doesn't cripple us in the long run.
  16. I'm just waiting for him to walk up to the podium at the start of the draft and SLAP Bettman....
