  1. Yea, we'll see how this year goes. Hopefully Dickinson works out Even then Tanner Pearson doesn't have a NTC and could be upgraded on if the cap increases. Anyway, who knows. Just don't think the Canucks are particularly high or low as a possibility
  2. The last time a Canadian team won the cup they had a Brisebois
  3. No guarantee he wouldn't come to Vancouver next year if the cap increases a couple mill. College linemate of Tyler Motte, same US development club as JT Miller, former teammate of Tyler Myers, Benning also has trade history with Winnipeg (Jordie Benn, Nate Schmidt) if he's moved mid-season. Not to say that's enough, but you never know.
  4. Good for him - his AHL nearly salary tripled this year from 70k to 180k. Love that they're spending in Abby. A solid way to build a positive culture without any extra salary cap impacts.
  5. This season will dictate a lot about the Canucks future. If it's successful Benning and Green will be kept - if it's stagnant, they might be gone. JT Miller is the perfect top-6 player on a Travis Green team, and he thrives player under Green. He's turned into a PPGer under his system. He's a leader. He's ultra competitive which is great to see. I would like to see him re-signed, and I think it's especially important if Green continues to be head coach beyond this season.
  6. Value-wise it's not too bad, I like Volkov, I made a 'proposal' for him before he was moved at the deadline. The Ducks would have to add a mid or late pick. However, it's hard to see how he'd fit after the off-season the Canucks have had. Theoretically: JT - Petey - Brock Hoggie - Horvat - Garland Pearson - Dickie - Podz Volkov - Sutter - Motte Highmore In honesty, I don't see that as much of an upgrade on a Travis Green-style team. Highmore and Motte are kind of ideal 4th line, high motor wingers who thrive in the dump and chase. It also means both MacEwen & Di Giuseppe being sent through waivers.
  7. lol if you open the article it's from 13 July just showing that there's a few teams in talks re: Dvorak this summer
  8. In one interview, Benning stated he really wanted to add a right-handed player. Not sure if Dvorak could've been had for that package anyway tho. He would be a great fit on the team, overlapped a bit with Bo in London too. Don't think the Canucks have what the Yotes looking for unless they wanna give up every pick they've ever owned haha. To AZ: Tanner Pearson, 2022 1st, a 3rd 2023, maybe Juolevi? Going without a 1st round pick 3 years in a row would be absolutely bonkers tho. Maybe Benning is desperate enough to do it The top-9 would truly be stacked Miller - Petey - Boeser Dvorak - Horvat - Garland Hoggie - Dickie - Podkolzin
  9. 100% a troll but maybe Linden Vey whispered sweet nothings to him about Vancouver jk jk I don't see any potential space for Benning to make a pitch for Kirill the Thrill @ 9.25M, as amazing as it would be.
  10. Yeah confused about the KHL having a salary cap AND a team offering almost their whole cap to one player. I must also be missing something. I know Kovalchuk signed some bigger contracts over there, but I thought that was the pre-cap KHL era.
  11. I agree, but Carter Hart looked significantly worse than Braden Holtby last year is all I'm saying.
  12. I think the speculation is it would be a 3-way or cap clearing move to make space for Eichel (in theory). Realistically they'd probably have to move other cap as well. Mika would fit pretty well into a Canucks' jersey ;).
  13. I dunno, I watched him a lot last year and he looked terrible - then a knee injury ended his season. Could bounce back but I see it more as 50/50 at this point
  14. Really enjoyed betting $$ against Carter Hart last season. Shocked they'd give him more than a year
  15. per Russo one hour ago https://theathletic.com/2761634/2021/08/09/pressure-mounts-in-kirill-kaprizov-talks-with-wild-as-khl-threat-is-heightened/
  16. I agree. They'll give Boner a real chance but he does have the cap against him with his waiver exemption status.
  17. Could see him and Sharangovich complimenting each other well.
  18. Only question is whether club will give Brad Hunt, Brady Keeper and/or Madison Bowey a real chance at making the club. Could see a # of possible combos, I wouldn't be shocked if they start the year OEL - Poolman Hughes - Hamonic Juolevi - Myers Schenn, Keeper Call-up: Rathbone That gives them a lot of grit with a waiver exempt call-up down the ol road in Abbotsford.
  19. this player is on the verge of a breakout. pretty shocked he signed for so low
