  1. Bring back Troy Stetcher To Vegas: Schmidt To Vancouver: Stetcher + a 4th round pick from Vegas + Namestnikov To Detroit: 4th round pick from Vancouver + a 6th round pick from Vegas
  2. I know Hamonic is considered ancient (30 years old) on this board but I would like to see him signed for 3-4 years on a decent contract if possible.
  3. thats part of the reason i think Khaira is a solid addition. Edmonton has been 2nd and then 9th on the PK in the last two years. Khaira was 4th amongst Oilers forwards in SH TOI/GP in 2019-2020 and 2nd amognst Oilers forwards last year - PKing between 1:30-2:00 mins per game It's not quite Beagle levels, but it's more than most suitable options have accomplished IMO
  4. I think Podkolzin is ready for the top-9 after his monster playoff in the K. I see it more like this: Miller - Petey - Boeser Hog - Horvat - Garland Pearson - Dicky - Podkolzin Motte - ______ - Highmore Motte and Highmore are both high motor players, so maybe Khaira would be too slow to keep up with them - on the other hand, he could possibly compliment them well with his size and puck possession abilities, and especially help Vancouver's PK. To me, either Khaira or Getzlaf could kind of play that steadier C role, dishing up to other speedy winger while helping the cycle and defensive ends of things. On the other hand, securing a fast-paced, all heart 4C with some scoring abilities might the line extremely annoying to play against. Brassard might actually fit that mold kind of well IMO.
  5. I agree with this assessment. Plus I don't want see them wanting to trade Laughton. They (Fletcher) just locked up to a deal with a lot of term for a role player, and he seems to be someone AV relies on over there.
  6. I didn't mind Graovac either. Thought he played with good energy, used his size to protect the puck well. 4 points in 14 games isn't a terrible pace for a 4th line C either.
  7. I don't think the player needs to be a vet at this point. 3 years ago, I think the mentorship and consistency was a fine a idea, but Horvat, Miller, Boeser aren't exactly new to the league anymore. Added Brassard to the poll Wonder if OEL and Garland would give any inside track to the Canucks. Haven't heard anything special, but they did play on the same team last year. I always thought he was underrated but didn't pay attn to him much the last two years I agree for the most part, but I think we'll see some interesting line combos next year with Miller being keen on C and the Canucks having a pretty full top-9 on the wings: Boeser, Hoggie, Pearson, Garland, Podkolzin. And rumours that Benning wants one more forward. But I agree Dicky is too good for a 4th line Hahah. Does he???? Lol i'm sure Kesler was the Canucks' greatest ambassador down there
  8. I like Wennberg but he had a pretty good comeback season with 29 points in 56 games - including 17 goals. I don't know if being pitched a potential 4th line role would work for him. If we did sign him I'm guessing he'd play 3C with Podz on his wing, and Dickinson would be moved to the 4th line. I think he'll get a raise from last year, decent consensus that he played well. I'm guessing 2.9-3.5M range.
  9. if Alec Martinez walks, wonder if Schmidt could be sent back to Vegas? Nic Roy would fit the 4th line C perfectly + a prospect or pick. Podz teammate Ivan Morozov could be a nice p/u.

They've offered Martinez a new contract, so I think they have something lined-up to make space for a top-4 defenseman

    3. Coconuts

      Coconuts

I'd like him to stay, but it'd be funny to get more than a third back for him from Vegas.

But then we are dangerously thin, if we can't land another defenceman.

  10. Yep. Has been utilized as both C or LW. Was trusted for 3rd amongst Edmonton players last year in terms of face-offs taken, 2nd short-handed. He was used primarily as a winger the year before tho
  11. That would be ideal IMO. A 4th line of Motte - Dickinson - Sutter if Green goes with three offensive lines at times would also be a line that could hold their own. I think Khaira is the next best option probably considering his PK ability. He would also be cheaper than Sutts probably
  12. I agree at first glance I'd prefer McCabe. Saying that, Smith has some veteran qualities that might make him an ideal 3rd pairing/PKer/7D guy next year to compete and mentor Rathbone and/or Juolevi. An article on him, for example:
  13. Which options would you be happy w/ as the Canucks choice for 4C? Choose as many that you feel would satisfy the roll. My take is that it will have to be someone who can transition seamlessly into wing when needed, as Green might roll Petey - Horvat - Miller down the middle at times pushing Dicky onto the 4th, now that he has that option. Ideally, it would also be a player who can effectively munch up some of Beagle's PK ability.

  15. DeSmith is better than Holtby at this point This deal would hinge on the Penguins valuing Schmidt over Marino enough to downgrade in net. But after Schmidt's year, and Marino being younger and signing a 6 year deal in January, I doubt Pens see value in this trade
  16. Alright, what about spot 41? Could Scott Morrow slip to 41? Is Logan Stankoven too small? I might be in the minority here, but I'd also be down for Benning to take a risk on Raty
  17. Solid PKer to replace Beagle. If he's down compete for a 4th line spot next year I could definitely see this.
  18. Would love if Brad Shaw had the inside track with Savard Hughes - Savard OEL - Schmidt/Hamonic Juolevi/Rathbone/Edler - Myers
