  1. Highest the Canucks can finish now is 9th (to tie Florida at 77 points and win on ROWs), 10th counting LV so cannot draft any lower than 13th. That will change drastically in the next few days.
  2. Great sauce by Valk, and nobody's catching Jake in open ice.
  3. Keeps sounding like they want to give him a shot at the roster next season.
  4. Definitely should, even if he doesn't get in any games. Gives him the chance to experience the pro game, and the Comets might not even make the playoffs anyway. The Canucks have certainly not written him off starting with the big team in the Fall either.
  5. Big difference between "looping" and incessant usurpation. Rare to see that name in the Horvat threads for the past 2 years -- nobody cares about him. Problem's with your eyesight, frog.
  6. Whether whingers, gloaters, or just plain trolls, enough is enough -- must they pollute every first-rounder thread?
  7. Yeah, Goldie looks like he's an adept playmaker not just a scorer. Might well be best for him to get some Utica Greening, alright. Should be some good battles amongst the kids at camp.
  8. So it's pronounced "NEH-chass", and man are those jerseys horrible.
  9. Shoulda picked Konecny, not that Yankee journeyman.
  10. Just getting started! Only took 7 meaningless games.
  11. There's one reason why he's on Sutter's wing -- sheltering. Forgot who it was that pointed it out, but that's the place Willie puts young guys whom he doesn't feel fully confident can carry their defensive responsibilities yet.
  12. Mittlestadt 15th! Maybe they got the players confused...
  13. Your ability to be wrong about everything from players to facts to even the meanng of words is mildly entertaining.
  14. He looked and sounded pretty positive and determined in his recent interview on Utica TV.
  15. Just one of many interesting team storylines to watch over the summer and into training camp.
  16. It'll never end, just have to ignore the noise for what it is. People are always going to seek drama, and trolls like Alf and the frog will always be there to incite and exacerbate it.
  17. Top-pairing RHS defencemen aren't worth a first round pick, especially in a weaker draft year? Regardless, a prime age dman like Tanev will not go for simply picks, especially not in our situation. Probably not even Edler -- more like a Burrows/Hansen deal.
  18. Word is he impressed a lot of teams in the interviews, including Minnesota who picked Eriksson-Ek three spots ahead only because they needed a centre.
  19. Watched the game on PVR. Before knowing they stopped play to review it and that it became a goal, I re-watched that shot a half dozen times -- simply amazing release, he barely twitched and the puck flew off his stick. Almost certain he'll be qualified and brought back but he's not going to get more ice until he plays the way Willie wants and expects.
  20. The question is, how does one know? Look at Pastrnak, who was lighter and shorter yet he came directly to the AHL after the draft and ended up playing half the season in Boston putting up good numbers. Maybe it was just the injury or some aspects weren't considered by scouts but in a redraft he'd be in the top dozen.
  21. Good to hear he knows the main things he needs to work on. Canucks would certainly prefer him here so they have direct control over his development, and he'd also have the opportunity as a potential call-up if he shows himself ready.
  22. Yeah you can see the skill and vision are there. Several times he came in over the blueline and pulled up, looking to make plays and often found the open man then went to open areas himself. He's not going to be just a shooter and scorer but a guy who can drive the offense.
