  1. "Worst Canucks draft ever." - Dave Pratt
  2. Were the Sedins "gym rats"? They are lightweight, have arms like pipe cleaners, and don't even skate that well, but have high-end hockey sense and understanding of the game.
  3. If only hindsight actually had a lick of value in regards to drafting. Still awaiting the first re-draft ever...
  4. My only concern was that a lot of his scoring seems to happen on the PP, but McGuire was saying he watched practice for 2 hours and talked to people on the team, and said he's legit good. Needs one more year of college then he'll be ready. Would have to think ZAR is high on JB's radar, and with roster spots opening up has a good shot at him.
  5. Sounds like he's been in good hands with the Professor.
  6. That's the right price, alright. We'll have $14mil from the Sedins for him and Tavares
  7. He was one of the top producers in Utica last year. A bit of a Bo-lite -- good size, strength, battles well, skates well, goes to the net, and has a deceptively good shot, plus character and leadership qualities. Points will come; you can see the progression in his game as he's getting used to the NHL.
  8. Quite the notable comments by Willie about Granlund today. Explains well why he has the 6th highest icetime of all forwards. Not only did he make the team this year, in his first full NHL season he's become a de facto top-six player, also playing the PP and PK. Will hit 20 goals this year, and is signed for another year at $900,000.
  9. Or maybe say how cute your avatar is, then ask you if Tanev is enough for Reinhart.
  10. Probably not too interested in just "surviving", and certainly the last thing a coach would want.
  11. Time to come in off the ledge, drop the pitchforks, and listen to the professor.
  12. Dahlen's already spent his draft+1 season over there; good 'nuff.
  13. Going to need a lot of pingpong ball help, no matter where we finish.
  14. Goldobin garnering a lot of attention in Vancouver http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/video/goldobin-garnering-a-lot-of-attention-in-vancouver~1072662 (Horvat - April 1995; Goldobin - October 1995)
  15. Yup. Bennett first though next TDL, then maybe Jankowski after that. They can keep Poirier and Klimchuk though.
  16. Yeah, although if their season is done there is no real reason to hold him to the rest of the contract. Worst case you'd figure, the Canucks could just buy out the rest or such to get his release.
  17. The mighty Flames development system will make him a star, as they did with Granlund, Baertschi, and Shinkaruk.
  18. Cautiously raising the bar to a very high but achievable level. "Yet" -- we don't have him "yet"
  19. Can't really "hide" any players, GMs know who's out there and doing what. Would be a shame to lose him after developing him for 5 years and now on the cusp of it all paying off. Don't want to lose Sbisa either but am more comfortable with losing anyone beyond those two. A Dman trade fixes the Luca situation but will have to see if something else can be pulled off for Gaunce.
  20. Left his baby behind, wants something newer and better -- a Lambo. Gold, Jerry.
  21. Not out of place in the offensive end, either. Opportunities and points will come.
  22. Hopefully he's the best Canuck Zack yet.
  23. Yeah that's the problem I have, too. Dave Scatt is all up in "retire Burrows' jersey" too.
