  1. Et tu, Mr. Elbow? The light is beginning to dawn. Well that was short-lived.
  2. Both goals on the PP, 3SOG, 7 of 14 in the dot. Live box score here: http://stats.statbroadcast.com/broadcast/?id=135196
  3. Bring him over on an AHL PTO if Comets still playing?
  4. One day Beebler will be boasting that he used to hang out with Jake Virtanen.
  5. As long as it's not 0%, there will always be someone eager to fret and worry.
  6. Hmmm, guess I'm just not seeing any significant difference there, sir. 35 points would be double Tanev's career average, btw. If Juolevi turns out to be a 25-point career defenceman that would have to be considered a significant disappointment, imo.
  7. Yes, he's destined to turn out only "slightly better offensively" than Tanev... which is about Murzyn or Snepsts level.
  8. So contrary to the armchair crowd, apparently the Canucks might actually know how to best develop him...
  9. If they managed to bring in both Boeser and A-R next year, it would be like the addition of Stecher and Tryamkin this season -- hello accelerated rebuild.
  10. Love the exclamation mark of helmets flying off his victims. When Willie chastised the team for being physically outplayed by Nashville then Tryamkin came out clobbering, "Oh, he understands" -- Willie.
  11. So then we'll have even more berating and trolling of the other prospects, maybe additional overflow into management and coaching. Until you make the block list, not sure if that's a net positive or not.
  12. Tanev's offensive creativity and production are minimal. Juolevi has much more instinct, creativity, and ability already and far more potential. Having no shot or offensive vision, the only thing Tanev offers on the PP is to keep pucks in the zone whereas Juolevi can actually run it and make plays. Looks to be a Lumme with more upside.
  13. Then what about the Pool Party and Dubois? Tkachuk was no consensus "sure fire" by any means. This is myopic hindsight, and after but half a season and thus terribly short-sighted.
  14. None of this would have happened if that idiot Benning had drafted the ELITE winger like he was supposed to instead of that busted twig of a plug. 18 years old and their futures are set.
  15. Who cares, nobody watches the games anyway so how about Vande Sompel? At least he can pad the stat sheet like a boss. Bet he's got a champ HERO chart, too.
  16. "Draft picks are like gold to me" - JB
  17. I think you're right -- he silently follows the GDT then selectively edits and compiles it into his PG "recap."
  18. The NHL playoffs start before the AHL's. If both teams make it, I think Jake stays in Utica but a lot depends on what happens by the TDL and of course injury-wise. But certainly wouldn't be surprised if they did bring him up, for various reasons including what you stated as well as reward for his work down there.
  19. Whether tongue-in-cheek or not, reality is we're not very well equipped for a physical post-season with both Dorsett and Gudbranson out. We could use a Labate-type going in, like how the Flames brought in Ferklund.
  20. Still showing McEneny, but matters little -- points are gravy but aren't the priority for him right now.
  21. Could you imagine the 70s Canucks with Lanny McDonald, Rick Middleton, and Mike Bossy instead of Dennis Ververgaert, Bob Daily, and Jere Gillis? Could you imagine the 80s Canucks with Al MacInnis, Mark Messier, and Glenn Anderson instead of Garth Butcher, Ken Ellacott, and Art Rutland? Hindsight and handwringing is pointless and myopic nellying, never mind the fact that the players are barely 20 years old yet.
  22. Anyone thinking Granlund (if he gets back to being a C) might actually end up a better center for him? Crafty playmaker who's also a threat with his own shot.
