  1. And what's gotten into Archibald? Looking like a bonafide offensive threat and putting up points.
  2. Linden has also said he talked with Benning well before the draft figuring that Dubois wasn't going to fall to them. JB repeatedly said they had a top six with a defenceman in there, and Tkachuk has said that Vancouver didn't ever seem very interested in him. Put it all together, and Ollie was their guy.
  3. How about for Canucks radio? I can't imagine having to listen to the Hansen of broadcasting Jon Abbott for an entire game.
  4. Guys, the ignore feature is an amazingly great thing to discover.
  5. Hansen will be gold at the TDL. Fast, can play up and down the lineup, PK, checker, can score, gritty, and the kicker -- his contract. At only $2.5mil he'll be a lot easier for teams to make room for, and he's signed for another year yet.
  6. Reminds me of those typical family vacation road trips where every five minutes it's: "Are we there yet?" No. "Are we there yet?" No. "Are we there yet?" No. Substitute with perpetual "Is Jake ready yet? How was he last game? Should he get called up?" microanalysis. Even across the continent isn't far enough away from here.
  7. I only skimmed it, but some great plays. Cheeky poke-checks at 9:43 and 10:47, and check out the play at 4:30 lol. Like a man against boys, toying with them.
  8. Bit of a combo of Hutton and Tanev? Instead of taking hits he circles away from them and creates space, like Hutton and Stecher.
  9. Lots of factors at play such as the expansion draft, but I'd say that's pretty likely. The emergence of our D this year has now given us the luxury of not having to rush him. Also gives our two rooks and one soph another year of experience to establish themselves. We can also give Brisebois a couple years in Utica and see what we have in Neill and Olson there too. By the end of next season Juolevi will likely be too good to not make the team, let alone go to Utica.

  11. He knows English, who's he foolin'! The wrister on his dump-ins is harder than half our D's slappers.
  12. More a scorer or a playmaker? Any NHL comparables?
  13. Probably not, but then that affects the pace of the rebuild. Are we planning to be without Burrows next year and bring in another prospect, or do we sign him for another year and let Brock have a season in Utica to develop? Do we keep all our current D, and even if losing one in expansion we still keep Juolevi in junior? Do we likewise keep Gaudette for another year in college instead of getting him into pro hockey, considering the anticipated large influx heading that way next season? Brock is likely the most pro-ready prospect we have now, but perhaps management is going to continue with a more measured approach at turning the roster over, especially now with it down to just a half-dozen remaining from when they took over in 2014. A lot will likely depend how the Canucks do in the second half as to whether they feel comfortable in moving any more vets -- do Bo and Sven have a lot more still to learn from Burrows, or are they ready to graduate to full-time leaders and drivers? Would Stecher be better with another year of Edler and Hutton with a Tanev or Gudbranson, or are they also ready to step up?
  14. Mentorship from Edler. To Bo: "attaboy"
  15. Then comes the non sequitur ad hominem finisher. Simply stop making false accusations to suit your narrative and there won't be any problem.
  16. We need more picks for the #properrebuild. Maybe we can get a 2nd and 4th -- that would be a sweet return for the 2nd we spent, and some decent #assetmanagement for a change.
  17. Exactly -- so where is the "always" of the current regime making "ridiculous trades for a post season push"? Two TDLs so far and there are NONE. You're trying to project upon and broadbrush the current regime with the actions of past ones, with no substantiation or factual basis whatsoever. That is a complete strawman and shallow fallacious reasoning. I'm sure you could find plenty of things to criticize about current management based on what they've actually done, but to make clearly false accusations to try to maintain a narrative is pretty disingenuous and disrespectful, especially when they have repeatedly said they will not trade young players for rentals or the like.
  18. Just when I have hope that you're coming around, you turn and drop another total steaming pile of straw. You said: You know very well you were including THIS management with your "always" accusation, but if you're now going to turn it around into "Oh, I meant PAST management" then your entire post is an even bigger pit of troll bunk because you know it. That's why I asked for examples of your contention, knowing there are NONE. Total absolute straw man, and you are obstinately unapologetic about it. If you're going to accuse management (or whomever), at least have some facts to back up your charges instead of projecting past failures onto the current regime which has NO history of doing what your accusing them of doing and nothing to do with what they did in the first place. I know you like worrying and hand-wringing, but at least have some basis for it.
  19. Pretty simple really. Weber and Bartkowski are gone, Edler's been injured, and Sbisa has stepped up. Someone's gotta take the whippin'.
  20. Oh really? Please give "all" these examples of "ridiculous trades for a post-season push". Use both sides of interweb if necessary.
  21. Your optimism and positivity is not welcome here. Go to the Virtanen threads and learn how to whinge like a real CDCer.
  22. Just imagine if we were Edmonton right now -- "ZOMG, why did we draft Puljujärvi, we coulda had KA-CHUCKZZZ!" Or even worse, Columbus -- "Doobwah's a total bust, why didn't we take dat Kay-Chook?!"
