[Report] Canucks sign GM Jim Benning to contract extension
Gaudette Celly replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Canucks Talk
There's why. He's going to see the rebuild through, now that we're close to seeing the results. -

Can't wait to see their reaction when we come into their barn and kick their overrated buck-teef in. -
Same here. "Hardware issue". Right, because big corporate national infrastructure systems like that don't have cold spares or redundancies, let alone fail-over secondaries. Pretty much inexcusable, especially to be out this long.

[Report] Ben Hutton to become UFA
Gaudette Celly replied to BertaNuck's topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
Really? I don't recall anyone even suggesting that, including myself with his namesake as a handle. There is just as much devaluation of players here as overvaluation. -
[Signing] Canucks sign Oscar Fantenberg
Gaudette Celly replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
Looks like a pretty strong and buffed dude. -
So four 1st round picks, including two already producing in the NHL, one of which is already a top young RW in the league. Compared to an offer sheet for four 1sts which won't even all be drafted for another five years, which is considered a very high cost. Then compared to a single CONDITIONAL 1st for a 60 point player which is called an "overpayment"? Good grief, what's in the air this morning.

Jeffrey Epstein, accused sex trafficker, dies by suicide
Gaudette Celly replied to Canorth's topic in Off-Topic General
So much for a "suicide watch"; apparently it was them watching the event. It's been well-known for over 30 years, you simply do not in any way be in a possible position to testify against the Clintons, let alone all the other high-rollers and power brokers involved in this. It was 100% inevitable from the moment he was arrested. Btw, don't anybody think things are any different here. The veneer of "society" is extremely thin; what we see out there every day is just a thin layer covering reality, perpetuated to keep us distracted and never aware of what's actually going on.- 266 replies

[Proposal] Van-Minny if Boeser's ask is too much
Gaudette Celly replied to Provost's topic in Proposals and Armchair GM'ing
Minnesota had their chance at the draft, they're not getting Boeser save for a massive overpayment. -
J-P posted numbers above, but it was in an interview with his coach I believe who stated that he was very much sheltered or held back, as is often the case with young players there. Will be exciting to see how he does this year as he should certainly be given a much more prominent role on the team.
-
Have to consider how he was deployed. As a young player, was given very limited minutes and opportunity.

If not for all this 'luck' (i.e. for anything good) he'd be the worst GM of all time.

[Report] Eriksson “NOT” likely to be moved on
Gaudette Celly replied to Provost's topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
I think too many have become enamoured with Wunderboy Dubas in regards to this LTIR business. It's akin to big-spending Keynesians claiming that the more debt you have the more wealthy you are. Dubas is doing whatever he can to get himself out of a jam; we are in no such trouble and don't need to start skirting around cap mechanics trying to use any desperation measures when they aren't necessary. -
Where Do They Find These "Writers"?
Gaudette Celly replied to Silver Ghost's topic in General Hockey Discussion
What the... The one thing he got right. This kid is gonna be sobbing in his PJs yet again next Spring... that's if his Leafs even make the playoffs.
