One doesn't have to be jaded to think the Hossa bit was a load of crap, many saw it that way before Luongo retired

You don't get to tell me what my experience is

      right

no one really knows though do they

if the hossa medical issue is valid

what if in fact it is ?

apparently the medical evidence supports it (team and nhl doctors have reviewed his case)

and i would agree that we do not have those opinions available for our own review

but even if we did, we likely are not qualified to interpret it or to reach a different opinion

hockey viewpoints reflect societal tensions on these sorts of issues:

we feel free to doubt all things that do not accord with our view of things

because everyone currently has a right to say whatever they want

      in our internet world

      and expertise be dammed

      our viewpoint simply matters

      versus

let's not be naive about corruption in positions of power

and so it is healthy to be critical about all things

i actually rely more on another viewpoint you have posted though coconuts

that other teams would sound alarm if the medical exemption process were as unfair and corrupt as being suggested

as that would interfere greatly in the competitive balance in the league

and other teams are surprisingly silent about this don't you think?

It's hard to say for sure, as we'll never be privy to documentation regarding Hossa and may be unable to understand it if we did as you said, but I found it awfully convenient how it worked out for them capwise

I don't trust the NHL to always act justly though, and I fully expect that all teams will examine methods that would benefit their team, even if the legal lines were to become a bit blurry

I don't know if teams have been silent, I wouldn't be surprised if a few GM's inquired about what happened with Hossa although I'd never expect that to leak

Bettman and co work for 30+ owners, it'd likely take more than a few voices to get any ball rolling considering the juggling act Bettman's got to perform for ownership
