I was there. It was fun. OEL's penalties were both hot garbage. Tyler Myers penalty was a good call. Delia played really well, just overplayed the 'off the back' goal which was unfortunate. Team Tank lost, but... it was still fun. -

Entirely unrelated, but the Canucks should take a penalty with 20 seconds to go in a game like this... it'll help the PK stats look better -

I used to hate Iain MacIntyre’s journalistic opinions. I still do. But I used to, too. -

I think it’s the right call. He was a great goalie, but his heart was and still is in Florida. -

Some guys play *really good* with certain guys. And when they didn’t have them, they sorta aren’t as good. On their own with ‘somebody else’: Hamhuis was a ‘pretty good’ defenceman. Bieksa was a ‘pretty good’ defenceman. Together they were both elevated ‘very good’. OEL / Bear are playing a similar pairing/elevation right now. -

It's a confidence of skater just as much as confidence in goalie. If a skater is 'confident' that the goalie is going to make all of the easy stops, it changes how they go about things. Demko hasn't inspired as much confidence this year, so the guys are coming back that extra couple of strides... which goes against what this particular team is good at. They're among the league leaders in scoring, it's that keeping it out of the net that seems to be hard. What it seems like they're doing with Martin (and not Demko) is being just that little bit more aggressive - kind of like how they were with bubble Demko. Let him do his thing, know the first save will be made and go get the puck in their end. Hard for them to score if the puck's in their zone (or in their net) after all. -

People sleep on how good Tanti really was. If you wanted to put a sign that said “one man team” for a couple of years in the mid 80s, Tanti was the Canucks. Kind of “Bure on Florida” levels of “ok I’m here, where is everybody else?” I only mention this because I don’t want to talk about the Canucks play tonight. Or most nights. Canucks Brass: I don’t care if you don’t read this but… I’m available to fix the PK. Seriously, I can come in and make it better than what is there now. One of those cymbal crashing wind up monkey toys would also make it better than it is now. Actually, hire the monkey toy. It’s cheaper than me. Probably more talented too. I mean it walks AND crashes cymbals. I can only do one of those things at a time. -

I'm waiting for Kirill Koltsov to break out any day now. -
As a general observation, I will never understand the drive some have to support billionaires get even wealthier just because they own a thing... and a few dozen other things. "The league must grow" "There has to be more money" "Get more fans" ... Why? Why does it always come to this? I'm done. I might watch if there's no commercials (ha) one night but enough is enough. F***ing greedy **cks selling just another inch for more money for their imaginary scorecard.

In other words, do what every good coach - kids and above has preached for years: play hard until the whistle, never give up on a play just because YOU think it’s over. -

The same problems of the last 5 years are still here. There's just no hunger on the puck, and no complete game. The Canucks played well for 21 minutes this game. That won't win it. It's like they all went on cruise control after going 3-0 and still haven't figured out that the game isn't "first to 3". -

The Canuck powerplays are just garbage. Still. So many odd-man rushes coming back the other way. The Canucks just gave up when Hughes got hit in the face. They stopped. What a terrible period. -

It's already priced into the ****ing price when you buy something. So yeah. Implement? I shop elsewhere. If there's nowhere to shop? I guess I'll save more money. -

A team that captures 60% of ‘road points’ and 75% of home points is a guaranteed playoff team. Around 110 points with figures like that. 2-2-1 would be a fine/acceptable start to the season for an opening road trip. -
Worst show: Loverboy. Mike Reno is an obnoxious tool. And he sounds like ****. And the leather pants didn’t look too great with the overhang either. Best Show: either Moody Blues at Deer Lake Park (back in the 90s) or, amusingly, Kim Mitchell. Kim Mitchell wasn’t even the headliner and absolutely stole it… total professional before the show too. Soundcheck he showed up with the entire band, they did an entire song. Directed traffic, they got the levels absolutey perfect. Then it was show time that night and it was absolutely perfect. It wasn’t the most energetic or ‘explosive’ show, no pyros etc, and not a particularly huge name, but in terms of “this is top shelf quality”, - vocals, music, levels, mix… it was great.

[Rumour] Canucks interested in Ethan Bear

I did too after living in Edmonton for just 5 months. -
GM Place is fine. I loathe the ‘Red’ telecom company so I’ll never ever acknowledge it as that. and every other telecom company. But I digress. It’s got a few quirks, but given what it does, where it is, and what is around it, from that perspective it’s fine. The bones appear solid, the viewer experience for concerts and hockey is fantastic (aside from the morgue feel some games but that isn’t the building’s fault considering I’ve seen how rowdy it CAN get) New seats wouldn’t make me unhappy but I’d rather get in for $30 less a ticket and have the same building and same seats. I don’t see either happening in the short term. No new seats and still pricey tickets lol

An aging team relying on Markstrom and Tanev. I have no idea where I've heard that before.
