  1. And you call me ignorant, lol.
  2. I don't choose to make poor life decisions and then expect everyone else to clean up a mess of my own making. That's all there is to it.
  3. See I don't like that either. I hate bureaucrats in general though. Below average employees and politicians who can't either hack it in the private sector, or worse, are 'on their way back to private' after doing a few favours for profit, all on my dime. It's quite infuriating.
  4. That's another issue and I disagree with that too. If the beds are going unused, that's one thing but deleting them just to save money to waste elsewhere... that's not something I'm in favour of.
  5. In this case, people should be able to do what they like. But they should not have access to hospital resources relating to Covid. You got it? No shot? No dice, go suffer at home - you made your bed. Quit taking up resources for other people because you decided to be a moron. I don't like the passport but I equally dislike people displacing smarter peoples' surgeries and whatnot just because they think they know better and then wind up nearly dead in a hospital bed.
  6. I would have done Petterson for Eichel at the start of the year. And then let Eichel 'do what he wants' for medical, which he did, and LV is going to make out gangbusters. That ship has floated by sadly.
  7. Woah weird… a forecheck with a hit leads to puck possession, a great pass and a goal. Hey Green, thats how you ‘chase’ in that ‘dump and chase’ mentality. When he gets his next AHL gig perhaps that can be applied. nice goal.
  8. In Canada that would just lead to more useless bureaucrats deciding what special interest group to waste money on this time around. I used to believe that the Swe/Fin model would be a great idea to follow but I look at how it is now, where the resources go and really, me paying more so Quebec and Ontario get even more and I continue to get nothing? I already get nothing provincially because I don't live in Victoria, Lower Mainland or Okanagan. I'd rather pay less, "get less" at this point because I don't trust the politicans and bureaucrats to get it right anymore. And that goes for every last ****ing one of them, the party is irrelevant.
  9. He’s like a federal government employee. Below average, expect nothing beyond the bare minimum to not get fired quickly.
  10. Both of these two defencemen (Juulson and Burroughs) are playing Beer league rushing defence. Neither should be further than a foot from the blue line, they don't have it. It's like they see the guys who CAN do it, and are like "I can do that too!" and they can't.
  11. Speak for yourself, if there’s only one vegan there that could be (and is) fun… particularly if it’s a bunch of farmers who do their own butchering. The stories about the process, blood bags, etc- all the fun parts.
  12. Most game by game analytics are cherry picked garbage. Some ‘analytics’ like WAR in Hockey or Corsi are just straight garbage full stop and anybody using them consistently and particularly on their own to derive some point or another is basically outing themselves as a moron who wishes to be seen as something more than a moron. if I’m a D-man and my ‘corsi’ is consistently not great but the line is ‘+’ all the time, it tells me that the opponents throw lots of not great shots on our net because they cant get in to get good ones, and we are executing successfully on the counter chances we get. Corsi bad, win games good.
  13. Well since the last time I posted paradise we won, lets do it again. Go canucks Go!
  14. So I missed some excitement having to go to bed early. Watched the condensed game on youtube… what a complete effort. The Lammy goal was a direct result of a HIT ON THE FORECHECK by Chaisson. Good things come when you do what it takes to get the puck back. Other team isnt going to give it to you very often, so go take it. I love the aggressive style of play particularly with a rock like Demko back there. Garland is magic as always, Bo’s engine started really working in the closing half if the game it seems after a somewhat slow start. Obviously not EVERY game will go this way but… man what a nice start. Especially at the end the guys all looked so happy… not just for winning but for each other. Goals from guys on long no-scoring streaks and the look of relief/happiness was immense. I’m still in paradise and I posted it in the GDT but my rainbow pic is coming out again because thats how it feels. GCG!
  15. Our Russian Machine wants to hit, shoot, score goal. Not necessarily in that order. I caught the first period (bedtime for me sadly) and loved what I saw. Hustle on pucks, some good hits on the forecheck (yaaaaaaayyyyyyyy), nobody swimming by themselves in any zone - even on the Motte Poolman Bobble play, everybody was coming back in the play. No lazy ass-dragging. We might win and we might lose tonight. But that first period is how the Canucks *need* to play going forward. The team WILL win more games than it loses playing that way. Podz and Petey looked like they were starting to gel just a little bit there towards the end, and Garland is magic wherever he plays.
  16. Another GM who fell into absolute luck and has been riding it for years… and managed to screw it up. The best GMs are the ones who know exactly when to ‘do nothing’. Rutherford ain’t that guy.
  17. Shaw is a very recent hire, King semi recent, both probably on a short leash and ‘under review’ quietly to see if they jive with the message from the head coach. I really don’t care who the coaching staff ‘is or is not’… if they’re effective, cool. If they’re not, hit the road jack. Now we’ll see what we’ve got. I like aggressive. And Bruce doesn’t seem to mind a few roughing penalties when the moment is right which is exactly what we need.
  18. So here’s the thing. I’m on vacation at the moment at a lovely place. I was unaware of the happenings of yesterday until today. This was the view I took in this morning, shortly after finding out. This is a raw photo, no edit (its still on my phone) Praise the Boudreau reign! That’s what its telling me… or perhaps ‘dont look for any other rainbows’ ahahaha. Either way, stoked to see an actual change. GCG.
  19. On ice: I want the players on team to play for both the sweater and their teammates. Do the things it takes to win, even if a little outside their comfort zone. Grow as a team, win as a team. Protect and look out for each other. Right now it’s a group of skilled individuals. Who mostly look out for #1. Hopefully a new coaching staff can fix the on ice product and get some gel working. As for management, same as every team; no drama, good drafting, good contracts, good ‘gap’ between coaching and management. Hopefully ‘great’ in at least one of those categories but at this point I’d be satisfied with “good” as an average. All in all, there’s some serious optimism today.
  20. I think it’s because he plays ‘the Canuck way’ - works his ass off, plays hard, plays physical, has talent even if he’s not THE most talented guy on the ice he plays every shift like he could be or should be or will be one day. The engine that does whatever it takes to win. Those guys are your true franchise players. Rod the Bod in Carolina, Dave Andreychuk in Tampa and elsewhere. Ryan Smyth in Edmonton.
  21. You need guys who will die for the sweater. Whatever it takes to win in any given moment. Gretzky was not known as a hitter but he would still angle guys off into the boards for the win if thats what it took. Messier was a piece of… pieces while here BUT, away from here he genuinely was a winner. Do whatever it takes including cheap shots to win. Our best teams in Vancouver have been built out of guys who might not have all the talent, but every one of them would jump on the tracks for their teammates if necessary, even the skill guys who probably shouldnt. Right now the lack of fight from and for the team is the most infuriating thing.
  22. If that’s the case, Marchand did his magic. He pissed off OEL all game juuuust enough with dirty and mostly uncalled rubbish plays.
  23. I’m starting to think this Green fellow might not be that good as a coach. Or perhaps a goodly chunk of his assistants. Mayhaps it is cause for occasion to request a replacement coach from the butler.
