  1. Kind of like everyone in BC will tell you they've been a Seahawks fan since the Jim Mora/Hasselbeck years or earlier, when really we all know why Seahawks gear is popping up every where around us whether at school, work, malls, etc. There will always be bandwagoners, and it's quite easy to spot them. Just don't let them bug you. If it does, well, take some time away from CDC. Lol.
  2. Oh definitely not. If you could replace that duo, I'm sure other teams would have already found those guys to do so. But the team will adapt and find other ways to win. But, let's halt these talks for now as we still have a couple more years to watch this duo together :D
  3. The thing with BB and Kraft is, they both already know who his replacement will be, and are grooming him. It could be someone who is already on the staff, or it could be one of Belichick's many close college coach friends. Either way, the way the defense has been built through the draft and with Garoppolo who will be fully ready to start in 3 years time, the team has been set up to stay competitive for another decade.
  4. There's always gotta be luck in football. I more than agree on the point of why couldn't our D-line pull Eli down. I still can't answer that 7 years later. I was so sure he was getting sacked that I was in the midst of jumping up to cheer when I saw him throw it. Pretty much after that it was all shock, tears, anger, more shock, more anger, and then utter sadness. I do agree that Eli has shown he has the big game capability, but he's also seem to have lost that. I remember watching some incredible playoff outings by Eli and the Giants, including going into Lambeau and winning then going into the Bay Area and taking down the 49ers. But, like I said, it's all about luck and the game of football is all about inches. To be honest, I don't think Eli sniffs another Super Bowl again, or get back to the big show. He's been on a terrible downhill spiral and it doesn't seem things are going to be much better on offense for the blue this season.
  5. I like the XP moved back. Makes it less automatic and makes the kickers work for their relatively high salaries (I believe the average is 2.5 mill salary for a kicker?)
  6. In my opinion, I interpreted that quote a little differently. To me, the and I don't think it's worthwhile is meant in a way that if it's down to trading a young, early 20's year old for a 30+ year old who will be here for a couple seasons, he won't do it. However, if the quote had just been, "If I have to give up one of my core pieces, then I won't do it," that'd be trouble
  7. IMO, Eli was carried more by his teams defense than Flacco was. If not for the pressure generated by the Giants D line, the Pats go 19-0. Eli looked great because Rodney Harrison couldn't think quick enough to swat at the ball while it was pressed against Tyree's helmet and that highly unlikely catch is completed. Whereas in his Super Bowl, Flacco had nearly 300 yards passing and 3 touchdowns to no interceptions with his defense giving up 31 points.
  8. School uses Impark parking lot, paid for 2 hours parking for final exam, got to my car 8 minutes after it had expired and I had a ticket. Called Impark, all the guy said he "could do" was reduce fine by $5. Anything I can do to appeal? 8 minutes is BS

Then they shouldn't have chatted in the hallway knowing how much time was on their ticket. It sucks, but rules are rules.

@ *vancouvercanucks* yeah because drinking and driving and paying for a parking stall are similar...

Doesn't matter if they are similar or not... it is the principle behind it

A rule is a rule or in this case a law is a law

  9. There will never be competition between Brady and another QB, because the day there is a new starter in New England will be the day Brady isn't on the roster anymore because he's in Cabo with his super model wife diving off cliffs while downing 2 tequila shots mid jump.
  10. Supporting the protesters in Ferguson .

The ones who are looting and destroying gas stations and small businesses which had nothing to do with the cop?

  11. Ugh, got "It's a fantasy football fantasy" stuck in my head
  12. Definitely Brady's replacement. Too bad we couldn't have traded Mallet before the pre season opener on Thursday. That damn well lowered his stock.
  13. Lol, 24 minutes of pre season action vs 3rd stringers and you got him pegged as a future HOF quarterback
  14. When watching the game live, I was impressed with his pocket presence and his ability to get out of trouble and make plays with his feet. He should have had 3 touchdowns. He could've ran one in when he escaped the pocket but decided to throw to an open TE who dropped it. The long bomb to Tyms which bounced off a knee and refs ruled incomplete, and then the TD he did have.
  15. I'm glad NFL.com disables fan comments on any articles related to Michael Sam. One of the few good decisions that website has made.
  16. Because Shaw doesn't have nearly as many HD channels as Telus due to how their systems work. All the "channels" are kept at Telus buildings and therefore they have the ability to transmit a large amount of HD channels to your home through "signals" whereas Shaw hardwires a cable straight into the back of your digital box so they don't have the ability to give you that many HD channels since the cable can only handle so many.
  17. Ps; Jimmy Garoppolo is a gamer. Damn. Making plays in the pocket, has great speed, and that deep ball accuracy is lethal.
  18. So having WBZ-TV (the local Boston feed for CBS) has totally changed my Patriots game day experience. It's the equivalent of Sportsnet Pacific for the Canucks. It felt as if I was in Boston watching the game. All the coverage was Patriots, the half time was interviews with Revis and Ty Law. There was even a sideline interview with the hoodie. @ Mr. Ambien, the feed worked great. After reading your post, I called Telus this morning to ensure the feed won't black out during the regular season and he said no and that Telus has a deal in place to be able to show those channels without any restrictions.
  19. Are you with Shaw or Telus? If with Shaw, order the time shift channels. It's $4 a month, they're in standard definition, and you get all the Pats games. If you're with Telus, like myself, get the Time Change package, it's $9 a month, you get 16 eastern channels all in HD including the Boston feeds of CBS and Fox. This is my first year with Telus, so I'm excited to watch the Patriots games on the Boston feed with (hopefully) the Patriots commentators Edit: On shaw, the time shift channels are in the 70's, with the Pats games mostly on channel 75 On telus, the time shift channels are the 200's, all in HD.
  20. I see the draft is set for the 28th at 7:30pm. Don't mind the date, but could the time be pushed back an hour? I work until 7:30 that night.
  21. Hey now, some of us talk more generally about the entire NFL instead of just the Patriots.
  22. downgraded from shaw to telus cable...do. not. like. it

  23. So you have two 500 yard receivers in Cotchery and Avant, and a rookie in Kelvin Benjamin who has been described as a guy, by ESPN football radio yesterday, who has a higher rep because of his game winning catch in the BCS, but his hands overall on a day to day basis aren't up there and will drop easy balls. He was also said to not be a great route runner or have #1 WR speed. They projected him to be a dominant receiver in 2 or 3 seasons once he learns how to be a NFL WR. Those are your top 3 receivers.
  24. Just an opinion. Based it on that he's only 6 feet tall, won't be hard for bigger corners to rattle him. Even with DeSean Jackson getting most of the attention, Maclin has never been able to break the 1000 rec yards mark. And the only time he's been able to play in all 16 games was 2010 By choke, I don't mean he won't have a good season. I just don't think he'll put up #1 receiver type numbers Don't see Nelson putting up 1200 yards 10 TDsThink Caldwell can get Stafford to play a little smarter, especially with a #2 receiver finally in Detroit. That defense for me will make or break them. If they can be a top 12 defense in the league, they'll make the playoffs.
  25. Some predictions: 1. Kenbrell Thompkins leads the Pats in rec. yards should he stay healthy for all 16 games 2. Cam Newton stays a top 5 fantasy QB despite no passing game threat and a questionable running game 3. Jordy Nelson doesn't live up to expectations of his new contract 4. Brandin Cooks out produces Sammy Watkins 5. 49ers finish 3rd in their division 6. Chargers finish 2nd in their division 7. No New York team makes the playoffs 8. Aqib Talib gets hurt or suspended 9. Detroit makes the playoffs 10. Jeremy Maclin chokes as the #1 feature WR
