and when has there ever been for more than about 2 games in a row?
-
one of the greatest warriors in this team's history. thank you for all the scars you've taken for my team, chris, and here's to a few more.
-
home team growing up, and I'll always be loyal. nothing can beat the memories of being a 6 year old running around playing street hockey in my #16 flying skate home white jersey with my best friend in his #10.

because goldy can't hack it in the bigs.

eureka, someone gets it. expectations for this group (amongst fans and media only) changed only after they exceeded expectations in october. before that, going into the year, everybody expected a level of improvement, playing meaningful games in february and march, and battling for a playoff spot. they're victims of their own success and of their fans' ridiculously fickle nature -- what was "hugely exceeding expectations" in october morphed into the actual expectations for november and beyond. the only thing that's different now than in training camp is everyone surrounding the team has lost sight of where this team actually is at and where they should reasonably be expected to be.
-
my issue isn't with the employer overworking him, it's with the clueless fans expecting the same level of offensive output.

comparing hall of fame defencemen to a 24 year old 2nd line centre seems logical ...
-
that's asinine. should you be able to do your job better now than you did 6 months ago, while your 2 direct subordinates are gone on short term disability and you're left to do all of their work in addition to your own?
-
what's your point? expecting bo horvat to produce at a 30-goal, 70-point pace is simply unreasonable and unrealistic during periods when he has to carry the team in so many other areas. it's pretty simple.
-
maybe it's from playing 25 minutes a night, taking every important faceoff, and carrying the defensive responsibilities through a month of injuries?

expectations change in a damn hurry around here. -
that's such a ridiculous, arbitrary distinction to make. also, how do you figure taxpayer money is paying for insurance claims? that's what the, uh, insurance premiums that get paid are for. edit: maybe in bc the corrupt ICBC gets subsidized in some way but the rest of the world doesn't work that way. should people be allowed to fight to the death in coliseums to amuse the rabble?

it's a little early to be this hammered isn't it?
-
do you feel the same way about seatbelt laws? if not, why not? ... it sounds like YOU might be the one watching the wrong sport. I'm perfectly happy with the direction the game is heading.
-
orrrrr I can just continue to be happy that the rest of the world has progressed in the areas that you haven't, that things are already moving forever in the right direction and that I can rest assured that the entertainers I'm paying to watch are being treated the right way and are in fair, safe working environments, in spite of the wishes of a small, meatheaded minority of fans who long for the brutal, draconian ways of the past because they're too stubborn to adapt.

someone hasn't been paying attention in class.

because it puts pressure on other players, particularly the younger generation, to do the same or feel like ostracized pussies. inadvertant, but very real, peer pressure. if you look around the room and see guys playing without visors or helmets and playing through concussions, you're going to feel pressure to do the same or feel like you're letting the team down. personally, I'm all for fewer people killing themselves later in life for the sake of my entertainment.
-
same with visors and helmets and seatbelts, right? we're trying to remove the macho tough guy culture, not reinforce it.

scoring at a 53 point pace is pretty good, except when your linemates are on pace for 80 more than that.
