  1. the thing that used to provide actual information before it was overrun by the plague of clickbait.
  2. he will always be an important personality in the fabric of the sport. a true original.
  3. why? it's not even good enough to make it to actual print media on its own merit, why pay it the honour? canucks army is worse than trash.
  4. if the canucks had any interest at all in sutter they would have offered him the PTO in the first place. they're moving on.
  5. I always liked sutter just fine but alberta is where the ivermectin folk belong.
  6. I'm not sure where you're seeing me suggest otherwise.
  7. being a fan doesn't mean showing up and expecting entertainment, it means being a fan. if you don't want the responsibility, fine, don't go. nobody has a gun to your head. maybe if the disgruntled and entitled fans took their dollars and left, ticket prices would go down enough for families with kids and other young, enthusiastic people who are just appreciative to see their team play to be able to go see the games and improve the environment in the arena and give the team a crowd they're excited to play for.
  8. it's about earning trust through consistency in effort and intention, which Jake never exhibited.
  9. you can't judge how ferraro would call a regional broadcast as an affiliated broadcaster based on his work in national (or otherwise) broadcasts as an unaffiliated broadcaster. apples and oranges.
  10. yep. he's both predictable and unpredictable in all the wrong ways.
  11. maybe to you and the other wannabe online critics, but not when it comes to the internal hierarchy dynamics of the team. as av used to say, and as every other decent nhl coach says, it's about the process.
  12. the fans should pump themselves up, that's literally their only job.
  13. his stats were and are irrelevant. ice time is earned through playing properly, not points.
  14. I read this too, but what I didn't read was a compelling reason to believe it.
  15. the conclusions you draw from this are hilarious and antithetical to reality. the reality is that, despite Jake's (microscopic) offensive improvements year over year, what he actually needed to figure out was the rest of the game. he clearly failed, as he lost the trust of Travis Green, a guy who had invested substantially in Jake on a personal level, trying to develop that project. as Jake failed to improve his effort level, conditioning, and ability to understand the defensive side of the puck, despite so many opportunities to do so, Green had no choice but to use the stick instead of the carrot and reduce his ice time. all Jake had to do to get more ice time and offensive zone starts was show he was devoted to playing the game the right way, and he never succeeded in doing that. because he's mush between the ears.
  16. brock is a guy that is hard to lose faith in for me. we know it's there because we've seen it, it's not hypothetical like with some prospect's "potential". he's a sensitive kid who's been through way more in life than any 27 year old should have and expecting nothing but peak performance throughout that is monstrously heartless. if he can get his head right, and combine that with this new dedication to fitness and effort, the sky is the limit. if you go to games this season, cheer for the guy like you did when he was "the flow" and you thought he was the greatest thing since sliced bread. lose the entitled "what have you done for me lately?" attitude and support this guy that you claim to empathize with, help give him the confidence boost he clearly and has openly stated he needs rather than pushing him in the opposite direction.
  17. we already had this 15 years ago. it's almost like the culture that Mike Gillis worked so hard to establish shouldn't have been dumped by the wayside, gradually eroding an organization that had developed into something resembling first rate into something resembling bush league.
  18. don't draft small goalies. even if they seem like swell kids who try real hard.
  19. this guy is the human equivalent of rectal polyps. who cares how he plays hockey?
  20. it's hard to shred guys you spend all year travelling in close proximity with. makes life a touch uncomfortable.
