  1. andrey "teammates come up with nicknames, not fans" kuzmenko.
  2. wonder what kind of dollars he's looking for. could be a medium risk/medium reward sort of investment and a positional need.
  3. for what it's worth, if bunting had either played 4 more games the year before or been born 2 days earlier, he wouldn't have been eligible, either.
  4. Eligibility: To be eligible for the Calder Memorial Trophy, a player cannot have played more than 25 games in any single preceding season nor in six or more games in each of any two preceding seasons in any major professional league. Beginning in 1990-91, a player must not have attained his 26th birthday by Sept. 15 of the season in which he is eligible.
  5. if he was actually "hearing" anything about these specific players from anyone in a position to actually know anything, it would be tampering.
  6. the cap will be $100 mil by the time miller is 36, so that would be totally fine, actually.
  7. and yet nothing he says is credible, go figure. it's almost like his contacts stopped giving him information because he wouldn't stop shooting his mouth off about it.
  8. because the things he used to say were credible and often came to fruition, but for several years it's been fruitless nonsense. I don't remember what it was he was making up last time, but donnie was actually laughing at him on air because of how absurd it was.
  9. no, he really doesn't. he makes up stuff and pulls it out of his ass. he used to have some connections but then his loose lips sunk that ship. he doesn't have a clue.
  10. rick dhaliwal speculation is as meaningless as eklund.
  11. reaching big time. it's not the case. in the same interview he was talking about re-signing miller and was far less committal about it. if he was trying to drive up value like you suggest, he would have done the same for both.
  12. drivel. “I really like Bo. I’ve always liked him back to his junior hockey days,” said Rutherford. “There’s been good discussions with him after the season. He had a good year this year… and he’s got a lot of good hockey left in him. He’s a character guy, he’s a centre iceman that’s hard to find, and we believe that he should be part of our team going forward.”
  13. still more likely than the op's prediction.
  14. there are bold predictions and then there are bad predictions. my bold prediction: hoglander starts in the ahl and karlsson doesn't play a single nhl game next year.
  15. hopefully we'll get to hear some "ahh I dunno" deflections from samuelsson in interviews. always made me laugh for some reason.
  16. anyone have a summary? can't listen atm.
  17. publicly available analytics at present are almost worthless. telling you "what" without "why" in a team sport just has you chasing your tail.
  18. i definitely expect jt to put his money where this mouth is and take a "hometown" discount to stay and try to win a cup with his "best friends". the guy has too much pride to say one thing and do another. expect a deal starting with a 7. he said himself he'll probably never get close to this year's point totals again. he has no delusions about what he is or desire to cash in at the detriment of the team.
  19. because rape accusations were handled incredibly poorly back then (and still now, mostly).
  20. more bidders now than at the deadline means a better trade package.
  21. karlsson just won shl rookie of the year. you can't really win rookie of the year if you've been in the league for 4 years.
