  1. what has the family won, aside from keith's shelf full of hotdog eating contest trophies?
  2. yes, google it. wingate and v02max specifically. also see my edit to the post you quoted.
  3. how about the fact that routinely blew away all of their teammates in fitness testing every single year in the fitness tests specifically designed to test the fitness of nhl hockey players? edit: how bout the fact they could routinely wear down their bigger, stronger opponents along the boards and in the corners, often for extremely extended shifts, before scoring a goal and making it look easy while everyone else on the ice is doubled over and panting?
  4. I would prefer if they adopted the stripe pattern from the current third for the home jersey as well if they were making these changes. I hate the stripes on the current home jersey. edit: collar notwithstanding.
  5. if he doesn't prove to be nhl calibre on his elc, his next contract will be league minimum, so either way is fine.
  6. I think that would be a dealbreaker for bruce. I remember him describing his conversation with walker about going to vancouver where bruce said that he told scott he needed him to come with him. probably a package deal.
  7. assuming scott walker is good to go, I could see them pitching both shaw and king and bringing in one guy to replace them both.
  8. could also be about his coaching staff, whether wanting to make sure they'll stay intact or make specific changes.
  9. then you should pay him since the money doesn't matter.
  10. exactly. I quoted it, I didn't use it.
  11. everyone who has ever used the word "sheeple" is precisely that.
  12. so he had 3 years of scouting experience with the flames prior to being hired by the canucks. not to mention his canucks gig was obviously only part time. so where's the problem?
  13. no, his stacked rosters underachieved, actually. 10 times making the playoffs, 6 first round exits. only one single time beyond round two.
  14. not literally the only reason, but the difference maker, and that means you're depending on your goalie too much.
  15. I meant how did his previous teams perform in the playoffs.
  16. half the guys you just compared him to are going to be vezina finalists this year and he's right there with them.
  17. they believe he's earned the opportunity to prove it. if he can show that the results are still there and that he can get the team playing a more structured game, the job is his. they're happy to have him back and are open-minded about the future, but they also want to give him the opportunity to choose security if that's his preference and he has an offer.
  18. it's not hardball with bruce, it's honesty. jim's not comfortable extending the coach currently until he knows if the results were real and not just the reality check of getting your coach fired and if bruce can adapt and implement the structure that management wants. it's exactly the shrewd management this fanbase has been demanding.
  19. it's also been made clear that the senators players have been dispatched to evangelize and recruit players, telling them all about how great the senators organization is. not to mention, the senators are in the exact same place now that the canucks were when myers signed with them; they are a very promising, up and coming team. their core has a very bright future. myers could be convinced.
