  1. It's too soon, whether the season is lost or not. Other teams aren't looking to make big trades in October/November since no one is guaranteed a playoff spot yet (the ones that are are up against the cap, anyways). So if the Canucks are looking for high picks and blue chip prospect it won't happen until at least January but most likely February/March. Lets see what happens until then. Depth players might be traded for decent return before, but it's not like we have a ton of interesting players in that area.
  2. We definitely can, so 0-5-2, become 2-5-0, prorated to 75 games is 21-54-0
  3. So if we flip Klingberg at the deadline, we are still missing the playoffs. So if your solution better than now? LOL. Actually, could be worst, if the team still sucked with Klingberg and he has a bad year, we are stuck with his contract just like we did with LE and OEL. That would have been a Benning move to overpay for Klingberg
  4. Just let them score on the opening faceoff. Take the pressure off from playing with the lead, see how it goes.
  5. Hilarious, I wonder if he held onto that one until his contract was officially off the books lol
  6. In my wildest dream, Arizona wins the lottery and Bedard refuses to play for them, giving a big fat finger to Bettman in the process. Honestly, why would a franchise player want to play for a franchise in such limbo and empty stands.
  7. Return is not as important as « doing right by the player ». Do they really think we would break the code of « we know he has no value, but making it seems he does by saying we’ll sell him cheap because we care about him » Dubas clearly good with number, but hasn’t master the art of negotiating yet.
  8. Can we let Kuzmenko play at least 1 NHL game before we price him out? Thé way I see it, odds are with Kuzmenko, the experience will be so successful that’ll price himself out of Vancouver and sign a huge deal with a cap floor team or will be a major flop and Canucks will let him go or will bolt back to KHL.
  9. 5,000 max seating, 3,000 actual attendance, average ticket price 40$, 41 home games = 4,920,000$ in ticket revenues. Doesn't even pay 1/4 of his salary
  10. career 0.86PPG vs 0.63PPG is a significant difference in production IMO. Not to mention that Barzal is younger. His contract will most likely age better than Horvat. No wonder, we had so many bad contract if that guy was in charge. I agree that Bo under 7 is not happening, but I dont think Barzal is the right comparable for Horvat. More like Petey. Miller is a much better comparable for Horvat.
  11. Might be Phillys best dman but not sure he fully reached his expected potential. Might be a solid top 4 option but not sure he’s an top 2 on a contender. Imo the price would be too high for my taste. Plus another LhD
  12. This is inevitable, Bobrovsky will be traded to Arizona either next summer or in 2024. His actual salary the next 4 years 12,10, 6.5, 6. No saving for Arizona next year, but that 10M$ could help them reach the cap floor in 2025 and 2026. He's still a decent goalie that can play, he's just not a 10M$ man. Other option is to actually buy him out. in 2023 the buyout penalty would 6.67-6.67-6.67-1.7-1.7 or if they wait until summer 2024, 6.67-6.67-1.7-1.7. Basically similar outcome, without giving up assets other than actual cash.
  13. Heard on a MTL's sports radio this morning that he's got an offer from ESPN.
  14. I'm assuming that part of his decision to retire at only 33, maybe he has something lined up already.

  16. Do we even need to put Charles or William anywhere in our tradition or symbols. The Queen was actually an integral piece of our history and growth as a Country, Charles and even less William, havent done anything for us really, except being the heir to QE2. I think we can have the whole monarchy in Canada discussion another day, but I think there are other deserving "home grown" heroes that could get such an honor before Charles and William.
  17. Just the way of doing business, looks back a few years ago, Duchene, Johansen, Parisé, Benn, Seguin, they all got those deals while being 25+ in their prime or just past it, meaning that these contracts would most likely not age well. Right now we are seeing these types of deal with players in their early 20s, meaning they haven't reach their prime and have a chance of aging well, especially with an increasing cap eventually.
  18. Yes and if Kakko explode with a 30-35G/65-70pts season, then the price in 2 years will be 6-7-8M$/per, while Dach will get two more years at 3.5M$. This is the Alex Burrows deals of 4 years @ 2M$, version 2022, and for a former 3rd overall, not an unlikely grinder that no one saw turning into a first liner. Ceiling is much higher, even though Burrows beat the odds.
  19. This deal can only go 2 way. Either it'll be a huge bargain in a few years or a major bust and overpayment. I don't see it being anything in between.
  20. Does that mean we are trading Miller for another center who will wear #9 as well?
  21. I mean, it's risk-free signing, but HUGE bargain? He couldn't get going on a team that hasn't made the playoffs in 5 years, I doubt he sees any top 6 minutes unless the wild have major injury problems. At best, I see him as a 30-35 pts players, but again he's 24 and a lot of ELC players reach that threshold every year.
