  1. 4 senseless deaths as a result of a US trigger happy pilot. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tarnak_Farm_incident
  2. You didn't make a mistake. As great & legendary Gordie Howe was, he was the 2nd best Captain for the Red Wings in that era. The best Captain of the Red Wings during that era was Ted Lindsay. Red Wings didn't win any more Cups when they (actually the owner) exiled Lindsay to the then sad sack Black Hawks.
  3. The guy who swiped the #11 didn't have any balls to worry about having to wear a jockstrap though. Biggest chicken**** out there on the ice.
  4. Didn't he get hit by a car (during an important stage in his development)? Never seemed to have bounced back from that. Tough to hold that against him.
  5. Damn you gotta feel for Turco. Think he was credited with three shutouts in that series And still lost the series. Though too many overlook Luongo was credited with two shutouts in the Cup Finals.
  6. It would be a shame if Lafffan couldn't see their saps in Vancouver.
  7. Just put Bernardo in the General Prison population instead of protective custody. He'll have a better chance than he gave any of his victims.
  8. That's that's the perils of hitting big on your draft picks (they're going to be paid after their ELCs). I view it as actually a good problem to have. Far better than going the UFA route imho.
  9. Kings were no slouch (as they rolled over every other team in the postseason). Plus, we went in short handed after that Duncan Keith elbow to the head of Daniel late in that season. Though he was able to play later on that series, I doubt he was 100%. Not saying we would’ve beaten those Kings but we would’ve probably put up a better showing.
  10. That 90s team had a sheriff by the name of Gino Odjick. And he had ALOT of deputies lol. Even Bure had a nasty mean streak when provoked. He didn’t just ‘turn the other cheek’. He retaliated right away.
  11. For me it was about 30 seconds last Saturday night. Oh, you're talking about hockey.
  12. Team they signed for was a legit Cup contender team and they each only signed a one year deal I think. And as I said, there are exceptions but they're pretty rare. Wasn't that deal like over a decade ago?
  13. When has any legit all-star player done that though? It happens but I tend to think it's the exception rather than the rule.
  14. It wasn't just Paul Henderson that saved us in 1972 but Tony "O". Often forgotten is how his unique style really confounded Team Russia (they were rather easily able to handle Ken Dryden). He doesn't get enough credit (likely because he played so long ago) on just how good he was.
  15. HF Boards take: We just take on crappy players for big cap hits. (sorry, I couldn't resist, I'll go to the "time out" room now for an hour).
  16. But we've got Shaw this year. Course, apparently Baumer will still be running the show on the blueline.
  17. I personally would like to have at least one shutdown line to reduce the reliance of Demko to steal games. Also would take the pressure off the blueline. I don't think scoring has been an issue with the team for a while now (baring of course if a ton of injuries happen & that would screw any team).
  18. That would be a waste of offensive talent of those wingers imho. Dickinson is very solid defensive center but he's probably as good offensively as Gaudette was defensively. Which is fine as that IS the reason he was acquired. To handle the tough defensive assignments & free up Horvat to take advantage of his skills.
