  1. I thought you were the poet laureate of CDC? I'm still flippin' trying to understand wtf is iambic pentameter.
  2. I remain skeptical. Particularly when he’s been in charge of our scouting in Western Canada since forever and so many prospects slipped thru our own backyard. Benning has a proven history in amateur scouting going back to his Sabres days. If Benning didn’t want him (EP), there’s no way Delorme would’ve convinced him to take him. Again, just my speculation.
  3. I tend to take giving Delorme any kind of credit for amateur scouting with a grain of salt. With such a high pick, Benning should get the bulk of the credit for picking EP. He was just trying to spread the credit around (as many good leaders often do).
  4. Gino didn’t need to follow Bure to Florida. I forgot who the player cheapshot Bure, but while Gino was on the Habs & Bure was on the Panthers. He essentially replied: “I took the guys number. We play that team a lot during the season. He better keep his head up”. That’s a lifetime friend.
  5. There are clearly NHL caliber D on the Canucks blueline. The question is, do we have enough of them. Depth is deep but in the lower end of the depth chart.
  6. Killing is against God's law. Capital Punishment: err, nevermind.
  7. Superman is Poolman (truth, justice and the Canucks way) Tanev is Batman:
  8. He's only doing what the player he represents wants him to do. Benning needs a Luca Brasi he get a contract signed.
  9. That guy was a 13th overall pick. I should have added, Poolman's age is a plus in his favor. A mature *person* is probably has a better chance at being able to adjust. Look at Jake Virtanen as an example. Jake needs to grow up some more.
  10. That wasn't his specialty though so it's not surprising he'd get more exposed with that kind of tough minutes. As would any defenseman who's not primarily a defensive defenseman imho. Too bad Shaw wasn't here earlier.
  11. Well chemistry is a weird thing. Look no further than when we had a pile of injuries and the then head coach (Willie) decided to give increased minutes to the pairing of fairly green players Stecher & Hutton over established NHL vets like Gudbranson. Maybe the same will happen here (Hughes & Poolman).
  12. That’s a different league/style of play. What works there doesn’t always translate in the NHL. Loui Eriksson looked good with the Sedins in international hockey. But sure, try it out in preseason where the games don’t count.
  13. Poolman has but 120 NHL games experience. I’m not sure putting him with Hughes would be the right way to go (Hughes has more NHL experience at this point and he’s just a kid)
  14. Less that and more going from more of a two way defenseman to getting most of the tough defensive assignments.
  15. Chuck Norris FACT: MLB outlawed Chuck Norris from being a baseball player because he'd be able to hit home runs without the use of a bat. He'd just roundhouse kick the ball into the upper deck of any stadium.
  16. Demko already had some pedigree though. Weird how our top pick, 6th overall will likely turn out to be big dud yet for most of that draft year, there are *ALOT* of promising prospects.
  17. Flames in trouble. Oilers in trouble Leafs in trouble. I don't see the problem.
