  1. or the Hawks could just sign a guy like Halak & keep Zadorov. Nobody wants a $4+ million cap hit backup goalie that isn't even good in that role (though that might change under Clarke but as I said, if Holtby gets dealt, the goalie coach isn't going with him).
  2. Seattle isn't apparently trying to win the lottery pick in the next draft by not wanting Holtby as their starter.
  3. Only if they don't overload on picking defensemen in which the end result will be the same (they will still have a respectable blueline plus the assets received for unloading any excess D).
  4. How is that "off the board"? Disposable one year contract left (can hide his entire cap hit in the minors) & fufills requirement of having to select a player from all NHL teams (at least with respect to the Canucks).
  5. All I remember about him was that he married Carey Price’s sister.
  6. I am better than them though as I don't peddle nutjob theories like the use hydroxychloroquine as a means of combating the disease. It also reduced the supply of that substance (needed for the diseases it fights).
  7. I'd post something with Darwin's picture with some smart ass remark but I'll just leave it with this comment: I hope she didn't infect anybody going down the path she took.
  8. They built their arena without the use of taxpayers money. All funded via private funds. They don't order from the value menu at McDonald's. Shows they don't only have money but they are willing to spend it.
  9. *YOU* should be over there on their forum pumping the tires of Holtby! . .
  10. Except for the blueline. Huge hole there. Goaltending & forwards we're sitting pretty for years to come obviously. Might have to move someone there to fill a really noticeable hole on D. Not going far in the playoffs with only a couple guys on defense that can play defense.
  11. Wouldn't surprise me if the Kraken don't try & sign Giordano if he tries free agency. Signing him & Edler gives them a ok stopgap option for their blueline for a season. Heck, pick Stecher off of the Wings in the expansion draft as a depth defenseman. Sign UFA Halak for their goaltending (plus whoever they pick in the expansion draft) to fill out their goaltending.
  12. Jason Herter battled a number of groin injuries that played a factor in his lack of development. His problem was that while he didn't have any particular weaknesses, he didn't particularly excel in any area either. "Jack of all trades but a master of one" or so the cliche' goes.
  13. Seattle wants to compete. Can't do that while wasting 6 million in cap space on a 4th liner at best. That nice piece isn't going to be a mid round pick or a b level prospect. Better for the Canucks to just bite the bullet and suffer with LE for just more season rather than give up any meaningful assets.
  14. If Larsson was/is willing to sign an affordable deal for us, he would still be an Coiler. He's looking to make uber money & term.
  15. Mikita was a real nasty SOB on the ice in his earlier days. He *legit* reformed later on his career to the point of winning the Lady Byng trophy a couple times.
  16. "Three unvaccinated women, 62, 68, and 74, all ended up in an Arkansas hospital with COVID. “Yet despite their ordeals, none of them changed their minds about getting vaccinated. ‘It’s just too new,’ Mrs. Billigmeier said. ‘It is like an experiment.’”
  17. Assuming he is still literate in French; it's "true French" (as some in France might say vs Quebecois which *some* have a kind of snobbish attitude towards that "dialect"). Myself being sadly not literate in French from wherever, I can't tell the difference.
  18. Majority owner is David Bonderman. He's a billionaire (and I don't mean Dotard Billionaire ). Net worth 4.1 billion. Roughly equal to the Canucks ownership net worth.
  19. You couldn't give away Holtby for free much less trade him for anything of value. Canucks might be able to with Clarke doing what he can with him (full regular season of coaching) at the trade deadline this upcoming season.
  20. Serious enough injury for him to be on LTIR for much of this season (season ending injury). Will be 36 years old in October.
