  1. Rumor: Alf was left exposed in Downtown Vancouver last night. Will TMZ produce a video of said incident tonight?
  2. Seattle might be competative right away if they select Price (depending on how much gas that guy has left in the tank as he can still play at a high level). Depends on the quality of NHL D left exposed and/or who they might sign via free agency (Edler might be an option for them as it *IS* still close to Vancouver).
  3. I'm thinking also that the Seattle might select McCann from the Laffs. Lots ex-Canucks.
  4. Beagle is likely barely able to pass a physical right now. "He's done like dinner" - Tiger Williams.
  5. I'm thinking the Kraken might select Highmore. lol, they might end up selecting Gaudette from the Black Hawks as well.
  6. Power is power. egads...the writing was strong earlier in Game on Thrones lol.
  7. They've got the ownership with the financial resources to pay for that contract. Now whether they want to spend it for him is another matter.
  8. Dickinson handling the tough defensive C assignment frees up Horvat to handle more offensive minutes. We gain far more than what that 3rd round pick will likely turn out.
  9. I just don't think he's a 1B anymore (actually not much a backup goalie either at least not at that cap hit). But I'm just an armchair quarterback. A real full season working with Clarke might reverse his decline (but if Holtby gets moved, Clarke ain't going with him).
  10. I'm guessing there are plenty of cheap goalies to pick from (as every team has to leave one unprotected goalie).
  11. Boston is a playoff team though. Team can't afford to have a backup goalie with a 4 million cap hit (too much a luxory item).
  12. Better value for Seattle to sign Halak than to take Holtby. Likely far cheaper & more importantly, has been better than Holtby.
  13. Younger, cheaper and likely as good as Holtby.
  14. I don't see the rush to get a deal done. Our core guys aren't that old. Wait for an opportunity to come rather than force one imho.
  15. Only generally against teams that had horrible goaltending and/or poor defense. Holtby is an aging declining 30+ year old. Any time your save percentage is below .900, you're mediocre. Luongo last season before he retired, his save percentage was 0.899 (still higher than Holtby) - first time in his long career he hit that mark. As to the issue of 'who will be the backup'. Ain't that hard to sign a journeyman NHL vet goalie for a fraction of Holtby's cap hit. Use the difference on signing an additional depth defenseman. IMHO, we'd be better off overall with that option.
  16. I should have noted that while Gillis buggled the goalie situation, he mitigated the damage by the return from the goalies. Very lucky for us but I guess it's better to be lucky than good. You can't rely on luck forever though. Can't just put it on Torts. Gillis hired Torts, so it's on him (imho).
  17. Jacob Markstrom. 4th in Vezina voting (for us) & our current Captain (Horvat).
  18. Way less likely. I think Rathbone will be a future 2nd pairing D. Rousell, is currently running on an empty gas tank/or relying on gas fumes.
  19. I'm thinking DiPietro might be ready for at least an "audition" of sorts on the Canucks with Clarke working out with him full-time this upcoming season. Abby being close by makes shipping him back & forth more feasible.
  20. Same reason why I don't think Loui E will retire. It's a business. He didn't force anybody to sign any contract.
