  1. Matt Cooke was mainly just a "taunter"/"instigator" as a Canuck. Rarely pulled that kind of cheap "knee on knee" stuff (if at all). He didn't turn into Brad Marchand's twin brother until AFTER he left the Canucks.
  2. Habfans didn't that. While they might have not directly cheered *for* us, no REAL Habfan would EVER cheer for the Bruins. Unlike Lafffan. Unlike Coilerfan. Unlike Lamerfan. Unlike Henfans. **** the Jets because they took our AHL affiliate in Manitoba.
  3. Rodman was consistantly one of, if not the, hardest working players (well, except for near the end of his career) during the game. Guy worked out constantly when he wasn't partying it up in Vegas lol. Listen to any interviews from other people. They'll tell you right after the game, Rodman would work out in the weight room for a period of time. That's right after him busting his balls during the game. Away from the arena though, guy never probably slept (partying). Absolutely zero comparisons to Virtanen.
  4. Good chance his contract isn't insured (rumors only yes as the Canucks have given a 'no couldn't on the question) given his past injury issues prior to signing with us (likely the reason why he wasn't that expensive a signing at the time). Affects chances of trading a LITR contract (as some cheap teams acquire such deals to hit the cap floor with insurance picking up the tab for his salary)
  5. Don't worry, with the amount of dumb posts I make, you'll get your chance soon enough!
  6. Sorry but poster "Elias Pettersson" already pointed out my error. Even a guilty man should only be punished once.
  7. That's still over 10 million in cap space for an aging defenseman and an awful backup goalie. I don't see Seattle touching that deal as they want to compete (and helping us free up that amount of cap space means they won't be able to compete against us by a longshot).
  8. Should've done that this past season. But we needed that 5th round pick for Benn so badly.
  9. Oddly enough, Willie Mitchell had a bit of offensive talent before he was drafted by New Jersey. After he was drafted, I would assume he learned the defensive game (I *think* this was around the time of Jacques Lemaire was with New Jersey).
  10. While there's no denying he could fight, we all grow a few inches taller if you know you had guys like Terry O'Reilly, Stan Jonathon, etc., watching your back.
  11. Point of my reply was that there was no way we're giving up our 9th overall pick without some really major cap dump(s) going the other way (1st on that list would be Eriksson).
  12. Caps owner paying the price for being cheap after your former head coach gives you a Cup victory. Caps havent done anything in the playoffs since.
  13. He’s been out of action for a while. If he’s ever cleared it’ll take probably a while for him to get into game shape. Due to the nature of his injuries, doubt he’s done a lot of heavy physical activities. That’s how he’s carved out a successful career, being physical.
  14. Detroit has a ton of picks already (multiple ones in each round), so extra picks won’t have to same usual utility with them as they might normally would.
  15. And if he gets cleared to play, which can come anytime, you’re stuck with the problem of having to clear cap space at likely an in opportune time.
  16. If we’re losing our 9th overall pick, LE and Ferland’s contracts better be going with it.
  17. Wasn’t Tanev his partner thru much of that in his rookie season?
  18. Tell that to Canucks management. Team can't be bothered to clear up a few hundred K in cap space to get him needed icetime. He ain't developing watching game videos/practice. He's 23 years old and still hasn't played a freaking full professional season in North America.
  19. This thread is for you Sam...
  20. Our Western Canadian scouts have generally sucked major azz throughout the decades.
  21. Hogs value is more than what he himself adds to the lineup. His work ethic is contagious. You can't really measure that.
  22. But we had to keep Benn and his 2+ million contract to secure that 5th round pick!
  23. I worked in payroll once and I know there was no way for me to take money out of another person’s account without that owner’s express permission (AND the bank having written authorization of that from that individual). Course this was over a decade ago, so the rules might have changed.
  24. I don't follow tennis but I would think the way the NHL handles these things (and some of the other major sports like the NFL) is to limit the punishment to 'cash fines' rather than going to 'defcon 1' would be the way tennis should go.
