I posted a related tweet regarding this a short time ago. Basically I said, the league tends to 'look the other way' when a team uses the rules to get around the cap. Except when the Canucks are involved. We submit a contract to the league that takes advantage of the rules (re: Luongo contract). League doesn't like it but *APPROVES* it anyways. Then, *AFTER THE FACT* (I think a year or two later), they penalize us for "circumventing the cap". Then there's other teams getting rid of a players cap hit because of a sudden "skin reaction" to wearing hockey gloves.

Robinson hated being a head coach anyways (even though he was pretty successful at it). Preferred being an assistant as he didn’t like having to come down hard on a player if it required. He probably didn’t think too much of Bowman’s style (respected obviously his ability to coach winners). At least that’s what I heard (his opinion of being a head coach again).

Thanks for your input. Cheers!

How long have you followed hockey? No, this isn’t a thinly veiled insult. I ask because I wanted your opinion on former Canuck Anders Elderbrink (forgive me for the incorrect spelling). Just how good was he? I think we gave up on him too early (granted it was a different game back then). I just heard from one fan Swedish hockey during that time who said he was a great defenseman.

Probably because one guy was fired (and justifiable so) while the other guy says he needs more time after seven seasons.

The enemy of my enemy is my friend: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Franco-Mongol_alliance Didn't realize there were even "talks" back then of an "alliance" between these two former opposing forces. Though it doesn't appear the "talks" went far as neither side trusted the other lol. One needs a "scorecard" to keep track of who's friends with who.
