  1. In his defense, heck knows why Green has been left out to hang & dry. Support him or hate him, that's *NOT* the way to treat a head coach in charge of a mixture of prospects & vets on his bench who's contract expires at the end of this season. Who the heck do you think he'll lean on most games? Sure as heck not rookies/sophmores because his job is on the line. He has ZERO job security because of the lack of extension. Heck, even veteran NHL head coaches WITH term tend to lean on veteran players and/or players they're familiar with (either in the NHL or from their days coaching in the minors). Factors such as league scheduling, injuries & COVID are beyond the control of management. This clearly wasn't. Now we have guys like OJ who sit mostly on the bench (and or be a healthy scratch) in a mean nothing season (at this point). But Benning is too busy in Texas (where I assume his assistant GM Weisbrod is there making his coffee) to work out a deal for his head coach. Make a decision. Fire him or give him an extension.
  2. Out goaltending isn't remotely that weak for us to lose another 10 games in a row. Unless Demko doesn't start in any of them.
  3. I think Schmidt can handle that (not in the same way obviously) but he's a solid two-way defenseman. It's Benning being unable to replace the role Tanev had after umpteen years that is the real problem imho.
  4. Problem is, those franchise players we have won't be on "ELCs" forever.
  5. How does Tom Wilson look so young today? He was the actor in Back to the Future like decades ago! He was "in character" in those movies as well!
  6. Dale Tallon was a legit talent though. Sure, not a franchise player like Perreault but if management didn't screw around with Tallon's development (moving him from defense to center & back again, then changing their minds again), he likely would've even got better. Could actually use a player like him on our blueline today (just don't have Green move to to center lol).
  7. In Crawford's mind. The student surpassed the master (WCE line) at least one full season before that (and don't forget, there was a lockout which removed a season as well).
  8. The Sedins were legit #1 & #2 ranked in that draft. Burke just made an agreement with Atlanta (among other teams) so they wouldn't be taken at number one spot.
  9. How about a blend of Fat Elvis and Zep & a reggae beat? Robert Plant is actually a fan of the group!
  10. You forgot Newbie thrown out of the game for being the 3rd man in. At least I got having a threesome off my bucket list.
  11. Too bad people don’t take the Lady Byng trophy seriously (they should change the name to the Jean Beliveau trophy) as I think Brock would be a good candidate for that trophy. Class.
  12. Should’ve spent more time scouting guys you have interest enough trading real assets for like Gudbranson.
  13. He’s the de facto front man of the organization with no President holding that job currently.
  14. The origins of the word ‘fan’ comes from ‘fanatic’...where one wouldn’t expect to see calm sound logical reasoning.
  15. Took me a little while to get the joke. GP G A Total points 2020-21 Vancouver Canucks* NHL 7 0 1 1
  16. Oilers blueline ain’t exactly full of Norris trophy candidates. We have a chance as our problems aren’t scoring goals.
  17. Weisbrod is even a better CBA expert. Cough, cough, Ryan Oreilly offer sheet.
  18. Assuming that actually exists (interference from high on up) & that's an assumption not a fact, what executive worth his stones would be willing to work for such an employer? None.
  19. Mr "Ryan O'Rielly Offer sheet" isn't going to help Benning with the CBA as well.
