  1. They were the Michael Bay of musicians. Seriously though, I think Ace Frehley had some legit skills. Unfortunately he seemed to waste alot of that potential battling inner demons (and I don't mean Gene ) but its seems he's "clean" nowadays & in a better place. Imho.
  2. If Roy has a good cap hit and Vegas needs cap space, why would they deal him? I honestly don't know anything about player so I won't comment on whether we should target him.
  3. Try saying that while Pyatt stares at you with his dreamy blue eyes.
  4. I kind of miss the days of Mogilny on being asked about his Lady Byng trophy nomination, to which he essentially felt embarrassed by being in the running for that trophy. Now it's a trophy that actually should received more respect than it's given obviously but he was being honest (in his true feelings).
  5. Now this is the original KISS (not the current version) but a band like Rush said they learned alot from them in the early days (skip to about the 45 second mark):
  6. One hipcheck might've altered the course of Canuck history. And we (Hamhuis in this case) was the party throwing the hit instead of receiving it. Or had Rome made that hit *LESS* than a second earlier. Napoleon Bonaparte was rumored to have said that when asking about another general...not whether he was any good but rather "was he lucky?".
  7. Yeah the last guy who wore #11 turned out great for us.
  8. Off-topic but at least Keenan related.....I still remember this old Gino Odjick story where Keenan was bad mouthing a bunch of people in the locker room (including Gino) when Gino got up and walked over the Keenan and essentially said: "listen, you call me anything you want as I've heard them all growing up. It doesn't bother me. But if I hear you say another insult about Pat Quinn (Gino goes and punches a locker), that'll be your head". That's the kind of loyalty Quinn inspired.
  9. When you get let go in Russia (not that long after winning their equivalent of the Stanley Cup in their league) that tells you you're to the right of Marquis de Sade.
  10. Hits are too subjective and/or not consistant among those that "tabulate those numbers". Unless one is evaluating the numbers from just one team (comparing players to each other on that one team). One would assume there would be at least a more consistant tabulation of the numbers in that specific situation. Just my opinion of course.
  11. Just missing the David Caruso video!
  12. They're from Alberta. (and to long lost CDC poster Ryan Strome....I'm joking )
  13. I wouldn't be so quick to give him cover. The Canes chose not to participate in the event so it took that matter out of his hands. Now whether they Canes did this in order to keep their Captain happy with Jebus, who's to say.
  14. He was moved without much trouble & without taking a cap dump in return/salary retention. We should be so lucky with some of the other contracts his replacement handed out. Even bad groin Garrison with a NTC got us a 2nd round pick (and again, no salary retention/cap dump contract in return). Sure Gilman was no genius but in comparison to the people responsible for cap management after him, he seemed to be by comparison imho.
  15. Yeah people get too fixed of "points" but forget you also win games by preventing the other team from scoring as well. Sutter was as solid as you want in that regard (that he had a pretty good shot didn't hurt either).
  16. My mistake....I neglected the effect on Sutter. COVID ended his career and boy did the Canucks miss his defensive center abilities (what he brought still hasn't been replaced today).
  17. That's under a head coach that is no long employed by the Canucks. Check out his numbers in Arizona under Tocchet as their head coach. I'd hazard to guess they sucked (given that one was on the main excuses by those in explaining away his decline in Arizona).
  18. Heh Stu Jackson for GM of the century! Though Stu Jackson kind of had some small revenge on the guy that gave him the finger (Steve the talking Mule Francis). I'm pretty sure it was him that kept Francis off Team USA.
  19. Markstrom was a Vezina finalist in the 1st or 2nd year in Calgary. Then his body fell apart.
  20. Many of them received lengthy deals (many with NTCs) in exchange for that lower cap hit. As opposed to the last management who handed out those NTC clauses without receiving a lower cap hit in return (eg., Jay Beagle, Myers, etc).
