  1. None on D right now. We're talking 20+ minutes. Easier for forwards to make that jump right away. Even a guy like Forsling had his 'cup of coffee in the NHL' with I think coach Q on the Black Hawks to 'break him in' a number of years ago. That's what made a guy like Stecher valuable (utility). Budget swiss army knife D imho. Buy time until guys like Woo are ready vs rushing them in.
  2. I'd rather hope Seattle selects Holtby (to free up cap space).
  3. Cheap cap hit which in the Canucks case has almost as much value as actual long-term ability. And he's playing on a team that's up near the top of the standings. Not like say, when Keith Ballard was top 4 guy on a horrible team before Gillis traded for him.
  4. https://www.nhl.com/player/gustav-forsling-8478055?stats=gamelogs-r-nhl&season=20202021 ? (eg., didn't start out right away in the top 4 but has worked himself up the depth chart to where he is now - top 4)
  5. Jack Edwards calls out the 2011 Bruins before one of our Finals games against them:
  6. Watch Clendening play. It's like somebody put any video of him in 'slow-mo'. Seems like they got mesmirized by his offensive ability but didn't notice that Harold Snepsts looked like Pavel Bure by comparison (skating).
  7. If he didn't deal Gustov Forling for trash, it would look even better. What a great late round pick. Not sure who the pro scout was that recommending Clendening but he should be demoted to toilet cleaning. Unless I'm mistaken, Forling is playing top 4 minutes right now with tied for 1st overall in the league regular season standings Panthers.
  8. Sometimes unfortunately is all comes down to luck (whether it be good luck or bad luck). Since these millionaire players don't live in the same world as us 'plebs', it matters little what city (or state in this case) that players happen to be employed by.
  9. It was crowded as **** at times from what I remember of Expo 86. Not surprising a young person can get easily lost in that environment (even unintentionally).
  10. I think it depends on whether they think Malkin is out for the season or not.
  11. A guy like Boeser would give up his place in line as well (forget jumping the queue).
  12. I don’t see the similarity (my opinion). In the one case, you willingly leave your child in a car, alone. In the other case, the child does a jailbreak when a parent’s eyes are distracted (as been stated, we don’t know the details regarding this case but Zi assume that’s what happened here).
  13. That is the key. Sabres hang up the phone if offered this. Not because the Canucks offer are a bunch of useless players; but you don't trade a dollar for three quarters from the Sabres POV.
  14. As much scorn as I've heaped on Loui, he's still capable defensively (just don't expect him to score any goals even if the net was empty). Lucic I don't want on the ice except when there's a brawl (which unless Torts is our coach again, won't happen).
  15. My sympathies. I hope you got your shots before visiting. Never know what you can catch there.
  16. One such contract is somewhat manageable. Two such contracts is a franchise killer in todays environment where the cap isn't likely to rise for a few years.
  17. That's putting it mildly. Scored an own goal in his first game as a Canuck...and it went downhill from there. Term was ridiculous because it gave us no cap savings despite its length.
  18. I just noticed the GM of the TBirds is a person name Bill La Forge. I know the spelling isn't exactly the same, but I wonder if he's any relation to former Canucks head coach Bill LaForge?
  19. To be honest, I'd prefer to keep Myers. I realize we should be "sellers" but want to avoid an Oilers situation where there aren't any decent vets to surround our developing players.
