  1. My knowledge is kind of sketchy on the subject but I *think* it has to do with the only way you can put somebody on LITR is if you're already at the cap max. so putting such a guy really doesn't create additional cap space. It just lets you go over the cap by that amount (the injured player) but you're still at the cap max. Hope I'm explaining this clearly as lol, I'm half asleep as I type this.
  2. Benning might need your help in arguing that case before Aquilini: "look, I made a $3.8 million mistake that I want YOU to pay out of YOUR pocket....are we still friends?"
  3. Or having the same "game" as someone like me. I strike out more often than Reggie Jackson going for hone runs at every at bat.
  4. Problem is in the postseason, there will be teams with elite goaltending as well.
  5. Yeah regardless of how I may feel about a player, it's the team that is important thing. (even applies to Loui Eriksson ). Reason why you'll NEVER see me in the "pro tank" group.
  6. He is as good as (bad in this case) in his last season or so with the Caps. It's a trend imho. I hope I'm wrong. He'll have to be substantially better for Seattle to even think of selecting him in the expansion draft.
  7. He's a veteran 30+ year old goalie. Only so much you can teach him now (minor tweeks & such). Can't reverse the effects of father time. Now, where Clark *can* work on is Demko (as the kid is only going to get better). Imagine Demko playing at a level *even higher* than he is now!
  8. All you need is one. And goaltending is a pretty important position. Where does that leave $5.7 million dollar (cash) backup goalie like Holtby who is playing pretty poorly?
  9. RFA offer sheet compensation for an offer of 4.3 million is just a 2nd round pick. You can only lowball a player so much before a team that needs a goalie takes this option, pandemic or no pandemic.
  10. Markstrom was 24 years old when Benning was hired as GM. Went from disappointing prospect to 4th in Vezina voting during Benning’s time as GM.
  11. What Coconuts won’t tell you is that he’s on the keto diet.
  12. I think it was more Vegas didn't have the firepower to put us away more than anything. It showed the following series when it caught up with them.
  13. He hasn't been the starting goalie for any playoff series win (2-1 record though ). Let's wait until we win a single playoff series with him as the starting goalie before even considering annointined him as "the King".
  14. If his name was 'Smith", I seriously wonder if he would've last as long.
  15. Problem is we've already been through that with Willie Desjardins being canned after three full NHL seasons. His 'get out of jail card' was used. I mean there are exceptions but rarely do GM's get to make such two mistakes in that decision (that is *assuming* Travis Green was a mistake) baring some real regular season success and/or post-season success. But each situation *IS* different so who knows?
  16. I guess Loui then will be with the Canucks until the expiration of his contract.
  17. Especially sad when you read about his struggles with his inner demons. Not that they’ve remotely figured things out with respect to mental health today but back then?
  18. That's like knowing to do a courtesy flush at a friends house. It's just something a person should already know how to do.
  19. Burrows was virtually elite shutdown winger in his prime. The goals he scored were gravy. And he had very little power play time with the Sedins (much of those goals were at even strength which made that feat even more amazing). We'll just have to agree to disagree on the once VERY sound two-way Loui Eriksson (that ended before the ink dried on his Canucks contract).
  20. I still see only two 30 or more goal seasons from the six million dollar man in his entire career to date. Didn't mean to come off as 'snarky' in my post but I just think it would be more accurate to better to say he's capable of repeating feat (or maybe I'm being too hard, I had a rough sleep even though the 'good guys' won last night). Peace in any event.
